Love how friendly all the staff is. I just found out about Dr. Smiths departure and my heart breaks because she really treated my dog shorty the best. When looking for vets im glad we got lucky with her. Never had any issues everytime ive come. I havent met the new vet yet but i have high standards after having Dr.Smith…. Dr. Smith if you end up seeing this one day shorty will miss you and thank you for taking care of him

Somehow my last review was deleted. So I'll say it again. I'll never forgive them for coming in to take care of the transaction in the middle of them inserting the needle in my dog while they were putting him down. They should have taken care of all that before they even touched my dog if that's their policy. I completely missed the transition between him being awake and asleep before he was put down and I will literally never forgive your company for that. If you're in this kind of business a little bit of manners and couthness goes a long way. Nothing you respond or say to this message is going to change the fact that you've blemishes the last memory I had with my dog. Nothing.

The quality of care has drastically declined and the prices are overly inflated. My most recent visit to WB, the vet injured my dog and brushed it off with a laugh. He needed a surgery and I was told it would be around $3,000. I took him to another Vet and got it done and a couple more things done for $1300, the surgery itself was around $950 by the other vet. Wrightsville Beach Vet charged me just about that for a X-ray. The quality of care and attention my dog got made him and myself much more comfortable and very different than at WB vet.

As a new pet owner I haven't had a lot of experience with vets so I didn't exactly know what to expect but these guys were absolutely amazing! They were amazing with my cats and they talked to me in layman's terms so I knew exactly what was going on and what I could do to help fix it. Lilith and Persephone loved them! I definitely recommend these guys to any new pet owner or anyone in the area looking for a vet!

This is the worst veterinary clinic I have ever been to. Despite my regular vet leaving the practice, I saw one of the 2 vets they have there because it was an emergency. My dog had been vomiting and had diarrhea for 2 days and I was worried something was wrong. When I took him there, they said the first thing we need to do is get an X-Ray to see if there is an obstruction. I have their CareClub plan that covers most vaccines for puppies, but not X-Rays. $800 later, the lab report reads verbatim: "Gastric and intestinal soft tissue material may represent foreign material, normal food, or a combination". The doctor then tells me that he will need a $4,000 surgery to remove the obstruction that we are not 100% certain is even there, and it may just be him digesting his breakfast. They said I could either go across the street to the emergency clinic or wait until tomorrow and come back to get more X-Rays to see if the "obstruction" is moving on it's own. I called my usual vet after this visit and he asked what the blood work said. They did not do any bloodwork (which is covered under the CareClub plan). The next day I took my dog to his new practice, and he simply had a stomach bug. Please do not trust your pets with this place. They are losing staff left and right and are compensating for this loss by charging more and more. By far the worst experience you will have with your pet. I almost paid $4,000 for an unnecessary and dangerous surgery due to their recommendation.Attached is a picture of my dog who hid under my legs the entire time, and I could hear him crying from the back room.

My dogs have been with this clinic since 2019. One of them since he was 6 weeks old. He has always had his check ups here with no issues but this year the new vet wants to medicate and muzzle him for routine care. Time to go elsewhere

I'd been using WBAH for two years until now. I came in two months ago to have my pet tested for heartworm and update my address for my medication subscription, and received nothing-- when I called in I was told they had the address wrong and that nothing was going to be done about the medication I'd paid for and hadn't received.

We've taken our dog here several times and the staff are great. Our dog can be skittish about new people, but they are so kind and gentle with her. They're always helpful and offer good suggestions for her care. Highly recommend!

Professional, friendly staff! I felt my dog was well taken care of and felt the exam was thorough. I especially appreciate the transparent pricing and description of estimated charges prior to completion. Nothing worse than getting a huge bill after services are rendered. I also like that they enforce the mask policy- in close quarters it’s great peace of mind. Will definitely make this our regular vet!

I'm in the middle... My Rosie has been taken care of wonderfully here but something's going on within the business several veterinarians have left in a very short period of time?????

We moved to Wilmington from the Charlotte area and needed a new Vet for our puppy. Before we even had a chance to get settled, he ate something and got very sick! It was a Saturday and we were sure we were going to have to pay for an emergency vet, but we didn't thanks to VCA Saturday hours. We call just an hour or two before they were due to close and they got us right in! They ran the test they needed to run and allowed us to determine what was necessary or not to keep the cost to a minimal. They stayed over an hour later than their closing time and did not charge us extra or act like we were inconveniencing them on a Saturday. They gave him his medication , and thankfully he was back on his feet the next day. He just had his check up there today and we signed up for the puppy care plan . It is an awesome plan that saves you money and is a convenient way to take the stress out of getting the quality care you need, for your per year round. My pet had some issues with the first vet that we chose in Charlotte and not having a good experience with them. VCA was so understanding of this and has been so patient and loving with my Oscar. I would agree with some others that the prices are a bit higher, but you get what you pay for. I truly appreciate their caring and friendly staff and so happy we have found a great Vet for our boy! I would definitely recommend them.

Took our dog here for years asking them about scabbing on ears, allergic reactions, and rat tail. We have a lab/pit rescue. They did blood work on here over the years we had been taking her there. I finally got fed up with being told “it’s just her allergies” and being sold products/services that weren’t necessary that I tried another vet. After the first visit the vet recognized all these symptoms and wanted to test for hypothyroid disorder. Results came back very positive that she had it. Would not recommend this place to anyone

I'm not a client at this animal hospital, but my goofy golden retriever manager to wiggle out of our yard not too long ago. He was just visiting people and a kind lady took him to VCA. I got off work just after they closed so I couldn't pick up my boy, so needless to say, I was a little stress. Fast-forward to the next morning, I go to pick him up and one of the vet techs tells me another vet tech took him home for the night so they didn't have to put him in the shelter (no tags but chipped! They just could get a hold of me before closing). The very awesome vet tech that took him home for the night brought him back and he was sooo clean! I didn't get any of the ladies names because I was a little stressed (I've never lost a dog before!), but they were all amazing! I especially wish I would've asked their names. Thank you all soo much for taking good care of my pup!!

Really disappointed in the last few visits. So much in fact I’ve now found a new vet that already made me feel more welcome and trusting. We were referred here about a year ago when we moved here and was surprised at the prices. Everything seemed to be much more expensive. As long as my animals received the care they needed I felt it was worth it. But once I felt I was being nickeled and dimed along with the bad experiences I’ve had, I had enough.Thank you for taking care of my pets the past year. I wish you all well. I’ve left feedback in my last visit that explained further.

I took my dog, Micah, in for a wellness check last week. He hadn't been to a vet in a while admittedly and I really didn't care for his last vet. He needed a wellness check, was due for his shots, heartworm test, etc. The staff was very, very friendly. The vet called me during the appointment to update me about my dogs health and test results. Spoiler alert, he does not have heartworms. He didn't make the conversation feel rushed. He took his time and let me ask questions, which he answered thoroughly. Then a few days later, he called me just to check on Micah. That to me is amazing service and patient care. I will definitely be trusting them with my dog's care in the future. To top things off, they have a reasonably priced exotic animal vet, so now I know where to take my ball python for his checkups! Can't say enough good things about these people, honestly.

I called today because my sweet puppy woke up feeling sick and threw up a worm in the middle of the night. VCA got me in immediately and took such good care of my pup, got him up to date on everything else, and made his visit feel like home. Very pleased with my experience here. I signed to become an official member and am looking forward to their care in the future.

Very kind and caring staff. Both of my dogs go here and they are very accommodating to their individual needs. They waive your first visit for each pet too! The vet and tech staff are all very attentive and take great care of my animals! I also trust them with boarding my fur babies.

First impression was how clean and organized the lobby was. We were seen only a few minutes after filling out paperwork. The vet came into the room very quickly and was able to find what was wrong with our cat fast and easy. They are knowledgeable and very friendly. I would recommend to someone who wants great care for their pets.

These people are the best! They have taken care of two of my ferrets multiple times, and have always been absolutely great. After my ferrets surgery last week, he ripped his stitches open and they took him in today, cleaned it, and glued it back shut for me, no charge. I cant express how much I appreciate these wonderful people!

Overall, I wish I could say my experience was better. Dr. Mitlitski was our favorite but I had way too many experiences where the front desk did not have it together. The VCA is very costly and it seemed that they only wanted more money instead of the well- being of our animals. I even would ask for alternatives maybe something I could buy at the store and it seemed like I was judged by the staff for asking that. I understand it is a business but pets are also our family and I would have came back if I could see the consideration of the staff. We were on the puppy plan for our dog and they tried charging us for things that were already covered. I had to wait with my 5 month old puppy for an hour and a half one day without being communicated to that our normal vet was not there. I am very patient and understanding but we really did not get the customer service that we were looking for time after time again. I really do hope this improves.

This vet practice is one in a million!! We just went through a very hard time with a very sick pet. The staff at VCA WB were professional, caring, and very knowledgeable. The vet was thoughtful and knowledgeable about the latest evidence based practices. He walked us through every step and treated when treatment was necessary so we got a little more time with our sweet girl. When it was time to make the hard decision he was so kind and comforting. He helped us know we had done all we could in a humane way.The vet tech was so sweet and loved our baby like one of her own. She helped her pass with love and dignity.♥️Honestly they give small town personal service with knowledge like being at a big city university specialist. Everyone was so amazing from the front office staff to everyone in the back!!! I can't say enough about this practice!!!

I have taken almost all of my pets I've had here. It definitely is a bit more pricey than some other vets around here but I believe it is worth it. They never pressure me to buy certain things . They always show me what I should buy , such as certain shots , medicine and always show me what's optional such as vitamins or extra small stuff. I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes upon arriving to get into the exam room and starting . Which is great at other vets I've waited close to an hour for a simple rabies shot. My pets love it their too, they have exam rooms for cats with cat trees and my older cat loves it and the air scent for soothing cats probably helps her love it more ! And it's convienent that I can pay the county pet licensing fee their too.

I was terrified to take my bird to a vet after a horrific experience at a different vet office. Vca renewed my faith! Everyone assured me my bird would be well taken care of and it was true. Everyone is so courteous and DrManolukas takes all the time you need to ask questions. The front desk and vet techs are incredibly professional. And the best part is my little friend is on the mend. 100% recommend!!

They're helping me take great care of my bearded dragon. Their exotic vet is very good. However, they have a policy due to covid-19 where you wait outside while your pet goes in and wait until the appointment is over. This is fine, I understand the need for this, however at my last visit because it wasn't a check up I couldn't see or speak to the vet at all. If things were normal and I'd be going inside for the appointment, I'd see the vet and be able to speak to him regardless of the kind of visit it is, so this policy of me not being able to speak to the vet at all was upsetting. It shouldn't have to be a checkup for me to be able to check in with the vet. I'll still keep going to this vet because he's great but I wish that one thing I mentioned was different.Edit: 4 star review became a 5 star review, Dr. Manolukes is so friendly and understanding and really listens to my concerns on my animals health.

We moved to Wilmington early this year and needed a Vet for my dog. I have found VCA to be wonderful. Julie was great with Logan during our last visit. They are great not letting him walk into everything (Logan is blind) and have always gotten us in even on short notice.

I love this place. I've only been there twice now, and I already love them. I've spent my entire adult life taking all my animals to a nearby vet, but had consistent issues with rude staff and general unhelpfulness. My first interaction with VCA was when my cat had a seizure, and my vet at the time couldn't be bothered to offer advice on if he would be okay or if he needed to be seen by vet. I just wanted to know if he *needed* a checkup or if he'd be okay now that the seizure was over (one of those "how worried should I be" phone calls) My vet at the time wouldn't even answer that. So I called VCA, and they gave me the answer I was looking for. Then I took a neighborhood cat to VCA during the pandemic, and the doctor called me and answered all my questions and then some. The girl at the front desk is the sweetest person ever (she deserves a raise), and if she doesn't have the answer to a question, she goes and inquires with a doctor. I appreciated her kindness so much, that I took the plunge and I switched my very fat, problem child of a cat over to VCAWB. I figured at best, the doctors would be as helpful as the receptionist, and at worst, even if the doctors were rude, at least the receptionist is kind and helpful, which would still be a vast improvement compared to my current vet.So I switched my extra large cat to VCA. The FIRST thing the Dr noticed was his eyes being two different colors (something I'd asked my previous vet about numerous times, but never got a real answer for), and I immediately knew that these people are here for the animals, not the money (they also told me the price upfront, which I appreciate). The doctor also told me that theres no need to be buying two different perscription foods and mixing them, because a different brand makes a 2-in1 combo food (why my previous vet didn't tell me that, I'll never know). The doctor wasn't even remotely bothered by my large, scared cats loud cries, and in fact, gave him a snuggle to calm him down while discussing the treatment plan. My previous vet wouldn't even weigh my cat (b/c hes loud, large and intimidating), and VCA didn't even think twice about it.I just KNOW this vet, these doctors, this staff, are going to help me figure out why my cat is unable to lose weight. I know they're going to keep trying until we find a solution, which is a welcome reprieve from the begging for solutions and toothpulling nature that I've received from my previous vet.Every animal I own will be switched to VCAWB. No questions asked. 10/10

I can't praise this place enough. I moved to Wilmington in November and was originally bringing my fur babies to another vet but I had a bearded dragon that got very sick and needed a reptile vet. I brought him here and they did everything they could to save him. In the end he was just to sick and we had to put him down. The compassion they showed to me over loosing my baby was amazing and they allowed me time to grieve with him, like no other vet I have ever been too. I now bring all my pets here and the service is fabulous. I will not go anywhere else. They listen to you and what you know about your pet. I highly recommend this office and Dr. Mitlitsky !!

The girls are great with all the pets and are compassionate. You know you are leaving your furbabies in good care. The vets and techs are great about keeping you informed, following up to check on your pets and take the time to answer your questions and educate you to what you don't know.

The employees were nice but they didn't say much on what's wrong with my cat. They talk so hesitant on the phone while they had my cat. My cat had a weird episode of head tilting, losing balance, and losing focus. I got the receipt and search on the words that had to paid for. It shows that they did some infection check and some other check up. But I honestly think they didn't check enough. I've also search cats can have an ear infection and few days later after going to the vet place, she doesn't eat still and drink by herself I have to force her to. And whenever I touch one of her ears she twitches it alot and shakes her head. The veterinarians should have told me what I should be doing and what is wrong with her instead of them just guessing it and end up putting it as "money-score" for them.
