This literally has been the worst experience ever. I took my dog in to be groomed. She had a couple of mats behind her ears. I knew that she was going to be shaved fairly short, but never expected for my dog to have to make a trip to the vet within four days of being groomed at Petco, I don’t know if they used unsanitary clippers. I honestly don’t know what happened. I am just sick to my stomach and the pain that my dog is in. No owner should have to experience that after taking their dog to a groomer.The groomer told me when I picked her up that because of the matting in her ears that she would experience some headshaking and ear flapping because the blood vessels that were constricted are now closer to the surface, this lasted for four days and is still going on after I took my dog to the vet.I have been in contact with the manager of Petco who said they would refund my money and see what they could do about my vet bill, but nothing is taken place yet, so I’m posting this in hopes that You will thoroughly check your grooming choices and make sure that they have clean and sterile, clippers, shears and scissors etc. so that this doesn’t happen to someone else’s dog

It was ok except my 13 year old has arthritis in her rear legs and because she has trouble standing for a long period they refuse to groom her again. If they are gonna be professionals then they need the right equipment and not refuse to groom again cuz a dog has a handicap, you wouldn’t want someone to refuse your love one if they had a handicap.

Petco is biased against older dogs who have to take medication. Booking online was easy, but then Devin C.called and told me they have a policy to not take dogs with medication at all. My Cavalier has a heart condition which is managed with medication. She’s been groomed for 10 years with no issues. Petco as a company not only lost my grooming business with this policy, but I will no longer be shopping there as well. They used to be my go to store for food and supplies for my dog and the cat.

First, great job consistently every time. Second, your groomer, Elizabeth is kind and our older dog sense this and really warms to her. Elizabeth is also the consummate professional. Punctual, courteous, responsive, and very good at her job. Quite a gem. Hope you can keep her!

I made an appointment for grooming and this was our first time to do so at Petco . Kristie was awesome with Robin and took great care of her! I was able to make a timely appointment and was very pleased with the quality & cost of services received. I will definitely be taking Robin back to Petco for her grooming needs!

We had a appointment that was scheduled 2 months in advance. We drive all the way into Wilmington cause this is we’re we always take our baby by appointment every 2 months only this month after we show up they tell us they don’t have time to groom our baby and sent us home. No call before we showed up or nothing! This is by far the most unprofessional groomers I have ever meet. No offer to reschedule tomorrow or try to figure out a solution nothing! So now we are to drive all the way back home our baby does not get groomed and our day is wasted. Very disappointed, I will be calling corporate and filling a complaint as far up as I can. I will NOT let this go! You know after the repeated mistakes they have made grooming we have been patient and understanding but after this I am not understanding anymore. Someone needs to be fired and this section of petco needs new management!

Jazzy's hair cut was awesome. First time with you guys and the cut is very nice. I've only had her for 3 weeks. My sister-in law gave her to me as a comfort dog. I can see if there is anything on her because she like to be in my bed a lot and I'm sick with cancer and to know that she is clean and a very nice cut makes me happy.

Getting an appointment was easy, the price is average for this area, my dog is clean and his nails are short and smooth; he smells good. He displayed no anxiety about being there. Text appointment reminders and text when he was done are much appreciated.

It was very easy making an app't. When I arrived at PetCo..they were ready for my appointment. They did a WONDERFUL job grooming my dog. Elizabeth was my dogs groomer and she did a great job. Everyone was helpful, professional and courteous! I recommend PetCo to everyone!

My brother works on the road a lot and has been unable to keep his dog in hotels. My mom and I have been tag teaming her custody bc, at this point, she's part of the family. I just got her back after a year and a half. My mom has become physically unable to keep her anymore with a recent COPD diagnosis. I'm happy to have her back. She's the sweetest pup I've ever encountered. I'm currently pregnant and have a herniated disc in my back so giving her a bath is impossible. Her nails were super long when I picked her up as well. I decided to try out Petco's grooming service. I failed to mention before that she is a pitbull. Most people would be terrified to even be close to a dog like that. But the team at the College Rd store in Wilmington, NC went above and beyond for her. She's never been professionally groomed before, so I was worried how she would handle it. When I picked her up, she was so happy and excited with her tail wagging and tongue hanging out of a big smiling mouth. They saw her for the sweet loveable pup that she is and took amazing care of her. I will absolutely be back. I was very satisfied with her care. Way to go ladies!!!!

I understand the virus has made everything difficult but they rescheduled me THREE times. Each were resheduled at different times and pushed back a week later each time. I got the times mixed up called to make sure my appointment was at 2:30pm and she said it was 15 minutes ago at 11am. There was just an awkward silence and when I asked if she can fit us in somewhere was told no and was told couldn't reschedule tomorrow either or didn't have anything for awhile. Didn't seem to want to work with me after I was willing to work with them THREE times

I walked in inquiring about nail trim and grind taking two of my fur-babies to the Nursing Home to visit my friend who was actively dying. She LOVES my babies and considered all five of my babies her grandbabies. I was flat turned down by Petsmart and they had no sympathy whatsoever of the situation. I went early thinking there would be possibly one or two people, so was ready for maybe a 15 minute wait. I was told that there were only two girls there and they could not help me. I left, went to Petco (which I should have went first anyway), the two girls there, boom, took us right away and did an excellent job and my babies were with my friend who DID pass yesterday at noon with her two babies lying with her. I could not have been more grateful. They were so caring and sincere and did an excellent job. From now on I am NOT going anywhere else. PETCO is #1!!!

Dog groomers were friendly and they treated my dog very nicely so he was calm while getting his nails grinded which doesn't happen very often

This is the best my dog ever looked and he came in really shaggy looking after not being able to be groomed for an extensive period due to the corona virus. Petco did an amazing job!
