Came here to buy dubia roaches and a harness for my grandma's tiny puppy. Associates help me find exactly what I needed and were so polite. I've been to several of the Pet Supplies Plus in Wilmington, and they have all been clean and tidy. I prefer these stores over the other chain pet stores in town.

Maybe a little expensive but staff is kind. Location is great. Haven’t tried to get my dog groomed there yet. The self serve dog wash is set up well. I have had several back surgeries and the elevated sinks are a huge help

Brought my dogs in to be groomed . I was greeted with a "you're late" and started berating me and chastising me for being late, that I should give them a call, explaining my tardiness. Excuse me I'm a customer not your employee. I asked for a corporate number to report the rude and unacceptable behavior from the groomer Brie, and the Asst. Mgr Lexus. I was given my dogs back stating."she didn't feel comfortable grooming the dog with the way I felt about her."I took two dogs and left. The third dog had been cancelled by them by the time I got home. Apparently the condescending groomer and her cohorts didn't feel like working that day.I called corporate as I told them I would. Apparently it's acceptable behavior because I never received any communication back from them. Seems each location is a franchise, but there is also a District Manager. No one bothered to contact me. Stay way from this location unless you like being belityled by a store staff,and its franchise owner!!!

We just love this shop! After a day at the beach, it is so convenient to stop by and grab a quick bath. The baths are always clean and all the supplies you need.They also have a great assortment of food and treats, as well as phones and toys for both my cats and dog.

My new go to pet shop! We went in here for the first time last week. We actually went 2 days in a row, when we realised we forgot something my dog needed.The first evening we went, it was around 6:30pm on Thursday. We were going to Harris Teeter, and decided to stop in afterwards to see how the prices compared to other pet supply stores. On Thursday evening, we got some crickets for a baby lizard I hatched. The girl that rang me up was very nice, and she gave me tips for my baby lizard, and he/she(baby Kiwi), is still thriving! We also got nail clippers, for my dog, and she gave me some of her tips on cutting her own dogs nails. The next day, we went in was Saturday morning, I think right at opening time. The girl working was soooo nice. She answered so many questions I had about so many different things. Vet care, flea remedies, shots, gave me advice for my dogs ear issue he had going on(now all cleared up!), and gave me a pamphlet for the vet clinic. Then she even signed me up for the rewards program and saved me some money! I also thought a hampster (that ended up being an obvious male), was giving birth, and I went and got her, and she informed me they were all males, but still came to check them out. It was just the hamsters tale and balls coming out his own butt area, and he was chillin on them like a beanbag chair. Hahahahaha she was also so nice about that as well, even though I felt stupid. Long story short, this place has better sales, and prices then I've seen at any other shop, and a staff that actually cares, and listens to what people say, and gives great advice as well! All the reptiles,and other animals looks super healthy as well, which made me happy. I 100% recommend this pet store!

Really can't comment about much in the store because my order was curbside pickup of an order I placed online. Once they notified me my order was ready, i headed over, parked, and clicked the "I'm here" button. After 10 mins, i hit the "Im here" button again.....maybe they missed it the first time. After 5 more minutes, I went inside. The nice young man at the counter said he never got notification that I'd arrived and said the wifi had been in and out all day. It was a nasty weather day, so possible. He kindly carried my packages to the car and apologized profusely. Upon arriving home (10 minutes away), I noticed that one of the items I'd bought was cracked (making it unusable), so I called the store and told them I'd be back in 10 minutes to exchange it for a new one. When I arrived and went in, a girl was ready for me and handed it right to me. Overall they did attempt to make up for any glitches and were polite. I will go back and give it another shot!

The staff is so helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable about the wide variety of products. They also keep your info so that if you forget what kind of food you buy, they can look it up for you :)

I was in this store the other day looking for toys for my Golden Retriever and Nicky was a tremendous help when it came to finding toys that were hard to destroy. She went out of her way to point out the best toys and was extremely nice the entire time. I am very grateful to live near such a people friendly pet store. The overall staff was very kind but I had to give a special shout out to Nicky for making sure I got the best toys for my dogs, and it worked because he loves them! Thank you!

I have 3 pets. Cat, bearded dragon, and a dog which I always shop at pet supplies plus for multiple reasons. Ever since switching my cat to redford naturals he has less hairballs. My dog also loves eating the cookies(which are made with dog safe ingredients). Staff is always so friendly.

Excellent store, big but still the smaller business feel. They love pets and have a great supply of everything needed. If you get on their mailing lists they send excellent coupons monthly - helps save on the higher costs of everything these days! Excellent grooming and nail trimming too.

Granted, I'm not a "needy" customer, looking for something to complain about. I know what I need and where it is located, so I go in and get my stuff. The staff is always very friendly and courteous, something that goes a long way with me these days. The store also had better pricing and much larger selection than their competition. I shopped at the competitor for nearly a decade, before discovering and switching to Pet Supplies Plus.

Great people with friendly service. They go way out of there way to help you. One time I needed to get a Zebra Finch. They don't have any at that time, but they would ask their supplier of they had one. They didn't have one at that time but they would let me know when they get on and they came through.

Great store, friendly and helpful. I use their selfwash station and it's great, no mess at the house to wash the pup. Good prices, always have tons on sale. Favorite store in Wilmington.

We have been turned away three times when asking them if the could clip our dogs nails. This is advertised as a no appointment needed service. Each time we were told she doesn’t have time mind you the third time she had no dogs and was just sweeping. She just huffed and said we would need to come back next week. The other times she told us to go to the Oleander location. Each time we showed up she was not busy and had an attitude each time. We have been going to them for 4 years and all of a sudden this person keeps turning us away. Literally just needed our dog’s nails clipped. Needless to say we are over it. If this is how you choose to do business I will take mine elsewhere. Utterly ridiculous and a shame that she is taking away from the rest of the great staff that works there. We normally always make a purchase to treat our dog after the mail clips. We will most definitely be taking our business elsewhere.

I had a horrible experience at the Carolina Beach Rd store today, and it wasn't the first time. I am a regular customer there, spending $300-$500 per month on my 6 cats. They have to be grain free, so we changed to the Redford Natural freeze-dried cat treats. 9 times out of 10 when I go in there, the supply is minimal or none. The excuse I get every time is: "We order them every Monday. The truck comes in on Wednesday, and we unload it when we have time. They might be on the truck or might not. We don't know." Either way, the shelves are empty, and I can't buy what I need. Today they went as far as to blame my good friend, who has 8 cats and also shops there, for "wiping them out". She actually bought another brand, and they were made for dogs because the store didn't have any cat treats at all (in freeze-dried chicken). This store has poor management, bad customer service, high prices, and the staff is lazy. I will NEVER shop there again. I went home, ordered a 2lb bag of treats on Chewy, and saved about $30.

I visited my local pet supplies plus in the monkey junction area tonight right before closing. I tried to hurry in and out as not to hold them up from closing. I was greeted by a lovely staff member named Lilly. She was able to help me find the dog food I was looking for and even offered to carry it up front. She is the reason I will only come back to pet supplies plus in the future. Thank you for being so polite and helpful Lilly!

Lily was very nice and very helpful! She insisted on carrying my heavy items to the car and I was very impressed. It was nice that she really wanted to do it and smiled the whole time. I will definitely be back soon :)

I made it a priority to write this review this evening to comment on your Assistant Manager, Taryn. I have lived in this area only about a year, and have been in, and had occasion to call your store many times. Overwhelmingly, whether it’s a call or visit, Taryn has been the person who has helped me. I have a big, sweet, standard goldendoodle, who happens to be spoiled …(and, of course, deserving!) of all that I buy and do for her—the fact that she eats better than I do, notwithstanding!) Taryn is always upbeat, informative, helpful, and smiling, regardless of what I can imagine at times, might be a stressful day-based on my observations in the store when busy.She also has a great memory! She remembers not only me, but my doodle and even orders I’ve placed, which have been back ordered for several months. As a former business owner myself for over 25 years, I can definitely appreciate the value of such a good employee. Business owners tend to get the negative comments or complaints, and though we know the value of our employees, we often don’t receive the benefit of customer feedback when our employees go the extra mile to help them. We all tend to remember bad experiences, but forget to thank those who have helped us, and/or made our experience a really good one.I often thought about Taryn and that I should let the owners know just how great she is, but like everyone else, get busy and forget. So today, after yet another pleasant, extremely helpful and always cheerful experience with Taryn, i just could not let myself forget again to say so. I hope Pet Supplies Plus in Wilmington’s owners know the gem they have in Taryn, and will to do whatever it might take to keep her on board for years to come!Catherine H
