When I woke up this morning, getting a tattoo at a TA in NC was the furthest thing on my mind. Besides this being one of the best/cleanest TA Centers I've ever been to, today I crossed paths with Alex of Body Art Tattoo..With a particular idea in mind (a whimsical teddy bear with a gift bow & cupcake), I walked in with a sample image from Pinterest, and Alex delivered perfectly.So happy with my little addition.. Thank you, Alex, for your creativity and for making this memory for me of my little grandson, who I adore.

I recently had the pleasure of meeting with Ava and working with her on designing my tattoo. She was amazing at taking the idea for what I wanted and customizing it to make it a reality. She is a true artist! The shop itself is very laidback and completely professional. I am very pleased with the piece I received from Ava and are definitely looking forward to getting more work by this artist!

Alex is a very great artist.. He always goes the extra mile to make your piece look it's best from all aspects of it.. Have had over 3 by him and Ava and you can't beat the price. My husband has 2 that's took over 8 hours and they are amazing.

My dog passed last year and I have been itching to have her pawprint done. Today, artist Alex made that a reality.He was AWESOME and very talented.The environment was great. Everything sanitary. Just had some needle therapy. Was honestly a little nervous, but walked out knowing my husband and I will be back. Alex exceeded our expectations with his professionalism in input from being such a talented artist and incorporating our vision. My coverup has taken years for me to initiate, I didn't want to still be unhappy with my tat. So glad to have waited for the right artist and magazine quality work!! My hubby and I are grateful that he's also very fair priced. ☆Here is the before, during, and after☆

Ava Thorn did a fantastic cover up piece on my forearm. Every artist I've talked to said it couldn't be covered but she did it and WOW! Her set up and area was very clean. She was very professional and considerate. I highly recommend her!

This place doesn't even deserve one star. I paid in advance for two tattoos. During my first session, she talks the entire time about how she was fired from Flordia for her work making me even more scared of the turn-out of my tattoo. Idk if she doesn't know what shes doing or if they have bad needles but the pain I endured getting one simple flower on my arm was unbearable to the point where I had to stop the session. The tattoo looked horrible and the "blowing leaves" looked like a chain. During the tattoo her creepy boyfriend Alex fell asleep watching some show in the chair next to me which totally killed my vibe and made me feel completely uncomfortable. Ava advised me it would take 2 weeks for my tattoo to heal ( which I already knew since I have plenty of tattoos and I'm well aware of how to take care of them). During the next 2 weeks, my tattoo did everything but heal. It looked like raw skin with scabbing. I sent her a picture of my tattoo (the one I posted) and Ava told me it was normal and to just take pain killers in text message. I guess she's a doctor too. Everyone who saw my tattoo jaw dropped including my doctor and other fellow nurses. The embarrassment of her work was one thing, but the pain and scarring was another, and for her to keep telling me that this jacked-up tattoo was normal really annoyed me. 2 more weeks went by and my tattoo still hadn't healed. She then agreed to do two free pieces if I would give her another chance. With me feeling bad for her agreed but of course never went back to the next session due to what happened at the first session. After I decided not to go through with the rest of the work I simply requested my money back for SIMPLY GETTING A BAD TATTOO as well as not getting what I paid for. My request was declined. I advise anyone going to this place to make sure you watch them open a clean needle and only pay for what you are getting at the time of service, because they WILL rip you off if they get the chance. I've also heard Ava uses Alex's work as hers. Just be aware so you don't end up in the situation I did. I have contacted the Health Department and BBB. Hopefully there will be some sort of justice for the hell they have put me through. I've had to pay a GOOD artist to completely fix this disgusting piece of work. Lesson learned: never go in a truck stop for quality work!!

Normally I don't have too much faith in truck stop tattoo parlors. But this is one I'd go back to. The artists could've argued a bit less but all in all it was good and Ava does great work. She did the one on my neck.

Ava is an excellent artist. Her studio is clean, comfortable, and Ava is personable. Tattoos are reasonably priced. Highly recommend to anyone wanting a tattoo. I was extremely pleased with her art work on my back.

Hubby and I stopped. The idea of a tattoo parlor in a truckstops was crazy. Both of us sat and had tattoos done. They were both great. Very talkative, fun and we love the tattoos. Would definitely come back and recommend anyone to stop. Very talented.

As a first time customer and for my first tattoo at that, I can say that I am beyond pleased. The artist, Ava Thorn extremely helpful and really made me feel comfortable and helped put my fears behind me. Her artwork is world class and the shop is as clean as a hospital. I have already made up my mind on my second peice of art and i will be choosing this business and Ava as my preferred tatto artist. On a side note she handles customer issues in the most professional way, she had a client come in and was very pushy for a certian piece he wanted, even going as far as to asking her to stop working on my shoulder peice and start his right away. She politely told him he would have to make an appointment and let her make a rough sketch as well as put a deposit. However the man became beligerent and rude. She incormed him that she would not work on his artwork and gave him a refund and asked him to take his business elsewhere.

Ava horn with Body Ink Tattoos is by far the rudest person I have tried to work with I went to Body Ink Tattoos Tuesday and made a appointment for Thursday. Got there Thursday got put off till Friday night. Rescheduled for Monday night at six on the basis of the drawing not being done. Got there Monday at six and Ava with TV still on not even bothering to mute it handed me my down payment and said it's out of my range. Sits down and goes back to laptop.Really that's it was this a personal thing so you jest held my money and jerk me around? And she said if I did not leave she would have someone escorts me OUT.It's not that she was rude, it's that she wasted that much of my time I could have had my money with someone that was at least going to draft the tattoo.Right? I mean if I walked in and she was like I don't like your face so I'm not going to tattoo you. Then I could at least make other plans.
