A gas leak that was contained withing 10 minutes led the manager to close at 3pm while surrounding businesses remained open? Two employees were standing on the sidewalk smoking not allowing customers to come in? What an outstanding way to run a business!!!

The staff was helpful and friendly but thestore looked like a hurricane had come thru.Only went for a few items but it took a long while to find anything. Lots of empty or closeto empty shelves. Also lots of containers sitting in front of shelves which made it hardto see what items were behind them much less be able to get to any of those products!They were trying to stock the shelves but it was hard to see much progress. As of latelyseems more the norm for a lot of businessesrather than the exception but honestly thinkthis was the worst I've seen so far!

I went in the store around 830 and got what I needed . I went to the register where another customer was waiting . There were no employees anywhere to be found I stood there for a good 5 minutes until a girl came in and stated that she had been outside looking at puppies and didn’t know anybody was in the store . The older woman whom I assume also worked there watched me and the other customer walk in. She was very smart and hateful and never apologized for our wait just saying how she got easily distracted and that was funny to her . She rung me up handed me my change and said very hatefully have a good night see you!! She never even offered to put my things into a bag !! I will not go into the store again!!

The store is an absolute dump, I expect convenient store restrooms to be filthy, but at least keep the toilet paper stocked. Filth and grime everywhere since the two best employees there left.Me and my family have been coming here for 2 years until we had a COVID scare. Thankfully I tested negative. But I have no doubt this store's poorly maintained hygiene had something to do with it.The staff's attitude is fine until you meet the man with the cross neckless. I'm not sure if he's a manager, but we like to call him 'Queen Cold Shoulder'. Never looks you in the eye or even says a word.I do not recommend the Dollar General at 31 Beaver Creek School Rd, West Jefferson NC.

Came In 20 minutes before closing and two workers were standing outside smoking shaking their heads when I pulled up. I guess I ruined their smoke break. Then I hear them complaining about people coming in the store because they want to close in the next thirty minutes. I would have liked to look at a few more things, but since they made It known they were ready to go home, I got my ibuprofen and left. What a great way to make people feel uncomfortable and like they need to hurry and leave!!! It’s a job it’s what they get paid to do if they don’t like it maybe they should work somewhere else where they can get off earlier.

I give this place 5 stars I absolutely love the Dollar General in West Jefferson the new manager is awesome they're getting store clean they will help you with anything that you need they're not rude if a coupon or something doesn't work they will make sure everything goes through for you it's like family when I walk in that store absolutely love it and I absolutely suggest that if anybody wants to do Dollar General shopping go to the one in West Jefferson

Needs some major organization and bigger updated building. The walls are about to explode with too much inventory. Can't go down the isles without bumping into a box waiting to be unpacked. Some isles are no cart isles. BUT, most of all, skeleton staff. Only one or two employees there at a time, which are clearly over worked, overwhelmed, and underpaid. What is with this area? Pay your employees well and they work harder, less turnover and less money towards training new employees. Not rocket science!

Great place I love coming here it's always so clean the staff is friendly and helpful it was helping me find the things I can't find and if they're out of the product they will call me as soon as it comes in

Went to buy google play cards for my fiance and they could not activate the cards was supposed to refund my money and hasn't . I don't recommend thier store at beaver creek road. In west Jefferson NC.

I like the staff. They are friendly but they don't have enough help.The store was clustered with items that hadn't been stocked on the shelves yet.Not the staff's fault because they are already stretched between helping customers and ringing up sales.
