Owners are terrific and I Always get gift baskets from the butcher shop. It's a nice mix with steaks, sausage, bacon and cheese. We go there from Swansboro, NC and it's so worth the trip.

I take 43 to and from work everyday!I always ride by this place and see the bulk meat signs out front so today I decided to stop by.While there I decided to buy in bulk, hopefully save in the long run and try them out.The package was $129.99 and inside was 12lbs of ground beef, 6lbs of sausage and almost 7lbs of rib eyes steaks.After doing the math I ended up paying about $12.50 per lb for the rib eye steaks.Honestly I can buy little amounts whenever meat is needed and I would have spent almost the same exact amount of money and I wouldn't have to take the time to vacuum seal everything for long term storage in the freezer.I was atleast hoping for a better bargain because I was spending so much and the way they have their store advertised definitely fooled me.I'll be looking for a new butcher after this meat is gone especially since I had to buy a vacuum sealer for this transaction.Everyone was polite and helpful but since there is no buy in bulk bargain like I was expecting I have to be neutral for this review.In final I can say that they do offer a good selection but watch out for their advertisements and selling techniques.

Great place that has a little bit of everything. Friendly employees, nice hardware section, decent prices on steaks and their butcher is there from open to close so you can get a custom thickness on the meats you love.

Wish I could give it a zero. Was way over charged for my items and tried to return them. when confronted about it the owner/manager got very aggressive and accused me of stealing. What I supposedly “stole” still didn’t even account for what I was overcharged for. When I went in the the boys stocking couldn’t even keep track of what was being stocked which would explain why I was overcharged in the first place. He claimed they didn’t accept returns and he was trying to be nice but he was never involved until I said I was missing money. I’ve heard from everyone they do accept returns so I guess that was a lie to. When I told him not to accuse me of anything he turned around and buffed up like he was going to hit me or something. Great way for a mayor to treat to community. The stuff here is horrible and overpriced anyway

Very friendly, when I asked the butcher for two thick filet mignons he was more than happy to cut me two fresh steaks along with some fresh bacon to wrap them with.A wide variety of local produce. Also picked up some plumbing supplies I came across wondering the store. Worth the drive!

I love shopping here for the good ok country items I'm accustomed to using to cook. Plus I love the butcher and the selection they have. It would be five stars except that the store produce area isn't always clean and some of the younger staff is rude.

I have been walking over a mile for over a year to this store, and don't regret it. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Just a pleasant place to visit. In addition to my first review; this store makes deliveries as well as make duplicate keys! One can ask nothing else. As an addition to my first two posts, I'm pleased to say my visits are still very pleasant! I have found items I needed simply by calling. This store just keeps getting better

Go there mostly for their meat and sandwiches. The prices are usually more reasonable than every place else. Has the old fashioned atmosphere the way I like it. The ground beef is always cheaper than anyone. Very friendly.

First time visiting Kite’s Supermarket. Definitely not my last visit. Excellent meats, from whole country hams and deli meats to great cuts of steak, filet mignon and ribeye loins at GREAT PRICES. The butcher counter is candy land to bbq enthusiasts (me). Thank you to Kite’s for the awesome 19lbs of beef ribs currently on my grill for a great Labor Day feast!

This is a family owned and operated grocery store. They are very personable and friendly. The best part of this store would definitely without a doubt the meat department. They have a butcher on hand, will cut or slice anything you want, and the best deli sandwich freshly cut.They also have meat boxes, I think 3 different packages to choose from. In the boxes, are Chicken, chops, sausage, bacon, steaks. You can replace an item with something else if you don't want a certain meat. You can't beat the price or the service! Definitely an A plus store!!!

This must be the only place you can buy groceries unless you want to travel. The prices were so high that I didn't dare buy anything from there. Inside it was cluttered and dirty. They did have a sign outside that said if you buy a steak, the potato was free. A free potato? Good Golly, Miss Molly! *eyeroll*

Typical small town grocery store. Locally owned and operated. Prices are a little higher than other stores and aome prices are extreme.(quart of heavy wipping cream was $6.99) ita a small store but a good selection. They have a small hardware section as well.

Nice folks own and run Kite's. They still have the best meats with a skilled butcher behind the counter and competitive prices. They have also added a section for your Hardware needs. I was truly amazed at the inventory that they have already stocked in that section of the store. A very good "go-to"

I needed electric tape to fix my Christmas tree. I called to see if they had any and to my surprise they were the only place in Vanceboro that had any but they were closed! They allowed me to go to the drive thru pick up window despite being closed and get the tape so I could light up my childrens Christmas! Thank you so much Kites.

Love this traditional local store. Excellent service. Meat department has many options specific to this region and personalized service. The hardware aisle has a wide range of products including common lumber, HVAC air filters, plumbing supplies, chicken feed and feeders, and painting supplies.

Really great service from all employees. Meat pricing and quality is exceptional. I was impressed by young man who brought my groceries to my car and loaded them in the car, I haven't experienced that in years. I will definitely be shopping there again
