Both are extremely professional, knowledgeable, caring, and it's pretty clear they have LOTS of experience. Everything was absolutely top-notch. I took my blue heeler as a puppy and then later on as an adult to better educate and train myself on how to have a better working relationship with her and to get her to be more attentive to me rather than the environment around her. K9 Command gives you all the tools to "train" you not just your dog! You get what you put in, so if you're not putting in the work and honing those skills you've been taught on your own then you'll never see the full extent of the results. I highly recommend them to anyone looking into training programs!

I just completed the beginner novice class with our 3 year old German shepherd. We adopted her from a shelter, so I knew very little about her. I quickly figured out she was VERY REACTIVE to other dogs. I was afraid she may not be able to make it through the class due to her behavior, but little by little she showed improvement. After 6 weeks I (and everyone else in the class that witnessed her outbursts) could not believe the transformation in her.We went from her lunging and barking at every dog in the room to her completing her exam and acting as if no other dogs were present. I had no idea a dog could change that much in 6 weeks. I HIGHLY recommend K9 command, put in the work and you will not be disappointed. I look forward to taking another class.

When you attend a class, private or group, not only are you getting your dog trained but you are hands on being simultaneously taught the skills and confidence needed to continue improving the lifelong relationship between you and your dog. I have attended 2 classes with 2 different dogs and couldn't be more pleased with the results. No fluff, no tricks, just common sense, straight forward, professional dog (and human) training at it's finest!

I have taken several classes with Mark & Amy and cannot recommend them enough! I recently got a Belgian Malinois and was looking for trainers who had experience working with the breed and who also could educate me along with the dog. I went with Mark and Amy based on a recommendation from my mom who’s been working with them for the past couple years now with two of her dogs. It’s been nothing but an amazing experience, it’s made me a better dog owner, it’s given me more confidence in handling my dog and grew the bond between me and my dog. It’s incredibly rare to find trainers who genuinely care about you and your dog, and who are willing to work with all different types of breeds and temperaments to help you and your dog achieve your goals. I know that Zara, my dog, has greatly benefited from working with Mark and Amy. And I’ve also seen other dogs who have benefited so much from their expertise. I genuinely trust them with my dog and will continue to go back to them with my current dog, and if I have any new dogs in the future.

We could not be happier with the results from Leo’s training at K9 Command. We used the board and train program then attended Tricks class and Nose work. Leo’s life and ours is by far better with the training we received. We also look forward to more classes in the future. Amazing trainers. We had a very stubborn frenchie, now we have a very pleasant frenchie. The level of training, attention, care, and guidance that Mark and Amy provide is phenomenal. Mark and Amy Connolly at K9Command are awesome dog trainers. They came highly recommended to me by my neighbor and I was very impressed! They are professional dog trainers with actual dog training degrees and decades of experience. We have done puppy head start and group obedience classes with our Doberman and it has been a great experience all around! I highly recommend K9Command if you really want to train your dog! I never thought I would be able to teach my dog to heel or stay and many other things. Their methods work and I’m so glad that we discovered K9Command! We will be starting our next class in January.

I can't recommend Mark and K9 Command enough!! My Diesel started with group Puppy class, then group Basic Behavior, then the Silver Program. Diesel is my first GSD and my first puppy; this training was as much for me as it was for him. I wasn't sure we would actually get to the point where I would feel comfortable dropping the leash, but we did, we got there, thanks to Mark. Training will be a life-long process for us, but we have a solid foundation and I feel like I actually know what I'm doing now. If you are looking for some good, useful training, give K9 Command a call, you will NOT be disappointed.

Mark and Amy are simply awesome. We just finished the 10 week Novice Obedience class with our 1 year old Siberian Husky, and the results we achieved were so much more than we could have hoped for. Sit stays, down stays, stand stays, recalls, heeling, and more, all on leash and off leash. It's definitely a commitment, but Mark and Amy give you all the tools and techniques needed to transform your dog into the animal you want it to be. Highly recommend!

We brought our German Sheperd puppy, Allie for training with Amy and Mark. We had a great experience! Amy was an excellent teacher for both us and Allie. Our friends are always complimenting us on Allie’s obedience to our commands and her overall behavior/demeanor. My rescue hound Wanda and I just completed the 6-week Essential Obedience Skills online class. I learned of K9 Command through a friend with an impeccably trained dog, but DC to NC is a bit far to go for dog training. So when she told me that Mark had started online training classes, I jumped at the chance.The class was intimidating at first, because you have six days of homework and are asked to submit homework videos at least a couple times a week so Mark can assess your progress and help correct any mistakes or give suggestions for improvement. But Mark is kind and constructive, and week after week, I gained confidence in my ability to train, and I could see Wanda gain not only skills but confidence as well.When we got her five months ago, she was terrified of everything, and had had little training. We live in DC and she started at every car, siren, helicopter, etc that went by (and there are a lot). After these six weeks, she stays calm on leash, she will sit and stay despite a great deal of distraction, and I can see a marked difference in her comfort and confidence level.I don't have a perfectly trained dog--we still have work to do. But I now have a more confident dog who will sit and lie down on command, sit and stay for minutes at a time, and who walks much better on a leash. More importantly, feel like I have the skills to continue our training in daily life, and Wanda has a solid foundation to build from. I'm very grateful to Mark for this terrific course.

We brought our 10 week old GSD to K9 Command for their On Your Mark private lessons, and then we went immediately into the Silver One-On-One Coaching. The time we spent with Amy was absolutely invaluable and the tools we learned will stay with us for years to come! Amy helped us turn a very spirited (and dramatically stubborn) 10 week old puppy that was getting into so much mischief into a well-behaved and obedient dog. Brynna is now an almost 6 month old who we can confidently take into any situation, and we know how to properly handle her (and ourselves) so that we can be successful and enjoy our time together. I have been in classes at K9 Command with my 15 month old dog ever since he was old enough to be enrolled. We started with the Puppy Head Start class with Mark and then a few months later completed the off leash Gold Program with Amy. We also just completed the 6 week group class Essential Obedience Skills which took the relationship between my dog and I to a completely different level. I can take this dog anywhere and he is perfectly behaved no matter what is going on around us. He is more attentive to me and he knows what he is supposed to be doing and when just by cues verbally and non verbally. Everyone always comments on his manners and temperament and he knows when it's time to behave and when it's time to cut up. The group class was a challenge and took me out of my comfort zone for sure but if you are not uncomfortable then you are not growing. The work we put in as a team was well worth the end result and the cost and I would do it all over again. I saw a total transformation in every dog in the class. In the past 12 months Mark and Amy have been available to me to answer any questions I have had and offer guidance on not just this dog but my other 2 as well. K9 Command offers something you will not find anywhere else (even Charlotte) and I will continue to participate in whatever classes they have to offer.

I started with K9 Command after completing a AKC STAR puppy course at my local kennel club with my six month old German Shepherd, Onyx. Which to put nicely, was a total disaster. I was at a complete loss with what to do with my girl as she was very vocal and reactive to everyone/thing around her. And she was my first Shepherd and the whole dynamic of the breed was new to me. I met with Mark who instantly put me at ease about training her and helping to build her confidence (and mine) in new situations. We did private lessons and by the time we left - Onyx was a million times better. She’s still vocal and it’s still a work in progress (isn’t that the whole point of getting a dog to train?!) three months later but we were able to go through Home Depot without major incident last weekend! So do I recommend K9 Command? Hell. Yes.

Banner, our Great Dane (and first dog) was a typical, large breed puppy with tons of energy who didn't know his size. We needed help with some basics, and opted for the 2 week board and train with the additional lessons to follow.This training was the best investment we could have ever made for the dog and ourselves. Friends and family could see a huge difference in Banner's behavior and training once we went through the program. We now take him for walks in the neighborhood, the park, and we took him on our most recent vacation to OBX, all of which wouldn't have been possible without the skills that K9 Command taught us. Everywhere we go people gush over how well behaved he is (AFTER they mention his size of course.) We're very happy with the skills we learned, and Banner's training through K9 Command.

I recently completed a 6 week online Essential Obedience Skills with K9 Command and could not have been happier with the results of my German Shepherd (Bane.) I had been following Mark at K9 Command for quite some time, but attending an in person class posed a challenge with both of us being on opposite ends of North Carolina. Bane was in the middle of completing a therapy dog course with another company, but COVID-19 caused major delays in being able to complete that course as scheduled. I used this opportunity to polish up Bane's obedience for his eventual therapy dog evaluation.This class definitely took me out of my comfort zone, because recordings of your training sessions were required to be submitted daily for evaluation/critique. The level of 1:1 time for questions far exceeded my expectations for an online course, and I was able to get all of my specific questions answered. This course also sparked my interest in participating in AKC Obedience trials as well. I will definitely taking advantage of Mark's offer to ask questions as we progress through additional training for AKC Obedience titles past this course. Mark is genuinely a nice, knowledgeable, person, who has a dog training business because he enjoys the people who own them and not just the canine interaction. He used KMODT to focus on repetition, discipline, accountability, and building a better relationship with your dog in order to achieve the desired end result of a well-trained dog. I will continue to participate any additional remote classes they have to offer, so I hope to see more of those soon. I would highly recommend K9 Command!

For anyone wanting well behaved dog, take one of K9 Command’s classes. My dog and I attended the group beg novice class and we are very happy with the results. The class is well structured. Lessons are planned for each day so you know exactly what to work on. Mr. Connolly is very knowledgeable and comfortable with working all breeds and types of dogs. Wish I’d signed up sooner!

I just finished the beginner novice group class and I am amazed at the transformation not only from my dog but every single dog in my group. You do have to put in the work to see the changes in your dog but it is 100% worth it. I truly enjoy working with my dog now instead of constantly getting frustrated because of my lack of knowledge and not having the proper tools to train my dog effectively. Mark was always professional and kept the class enjoyable. You can tell he’s passionate about what he does, I believe he truly wants to see you and your dog be successful throughout the class. I highly recommend taking a class from K9 Command, it has tremendously improved my dog and my relationship with my dog which is invaluable.

I followed K9 command on social media before we even got our GSD. I valued their morals even though I’d never been through any kind of training with a dog. My dog Willa, an 11 month old, German Shepherd crossed with a Belgian Malinois, and I profited greatly from the K-9 command class.The Focus on the dogs being good canine citizens was excellent.Mark is professional, determined, and honest.A weekly lesson was explained and the days throughout the next week were filled with homework for the dogs and handlers.I felt that was our key to success. There are no better Dog Trainer / Behaviorists in the area. Great training, facilities and service at a price below what you would expect for what you get. I took one high-drive dog for their off-leash training program and another super high-drive / reactive dog to their group class and had great success. Mark and Amy are more than willing to give you the time that you need for your particular dog's issues. Truly interested in making your dog's life, and yours, a great, safe experience. They do a terrific job of teaching each dog owner how to best train (and maintain the progress) their pet.

I used K9 Command for training for my Cane Corso. They were awesome and very helpful with my girl. She listens and responds so well now. When you have a large breed dog it’s very important to train early and K9 Command gave great service. Highly recommend them!
