Much like all the other dollar generals I've been to this one was a quick and convenient stop. The store was clean an organized, the staff was quick and helpful. I really enjoy stopping an getting little items you need around the house for a good bargain and would recommend this store to anyone needing to pick up some household items quick and cheap.

Tryon Dollar General has only lazy employees. Store had a long line if customers with 4 workers and 3 were standing doing nothing but talking! Go to Columbus one, they serve you personally and fast!

Me, my daughter and granddaughter go into this store to pick up some bread. We get the item and was walking and looking. Less than 2 minutes in the store a man comes up to us and says "I know why you are here. You are penny shopping." ( We had to google what a penny shopper was) This man Is Ellando, the store manger and has a nasty attitude and talks to customers very poorly. He proceeds to go on telling us how he will not tolerate his store being trashed. He then goes on to talk about calling the police on a man. He says items in the store are his even if they are in the shopping cart until they are paid for. (I don't thin they are his but property of Dollar General) He said he can refuse any sale in his store. I just look at my daughter and we proceed in through the store looking. He then stopped us again complaining about the same issue. And customers not having respect. I have only been in this store one other time and this was my last. You don't know anything about me so don't stereotype me or my family.

While I was viewing items near the front of the store, a man in front of me was at the register who appeared to be of Hispanic or Latino descent. The woman (maybe mid 40s) behind the counter told him his total and and then said "or 1,500 pesos's to you". I almost fell over. It was so incredibly inappropriate for anyone to say, let alone a store employee to say loudly for all to hear. She smirked like it was funny and clever of her to be so blatantly racist (with multiple customers in earshot). I will NEVER go to this Dollar General or any others again. You have lost my business.

Seriously the worst Dollar General. Good luck finding an employee to help you! I just watched one walking around the store on the phone while I was waiting at the register. I’ll usually drive from Tryon to Columbus or Landrum rather than dealing with the headache shopping at the one in Tryon gives me.

Never anything I need. Especially for a local dollar general in a small town, it has nothing ever. There's never anything my size which ie an XL and not a lot of diverse options. And don't tell me I've never been to a nice dollar general cause "they're all the same". I've been to big, spacious dollar general's. They were great and had much more selection. Dollar General in Tryon would be a lot more successful and popular if they had more selection. The word would spread and everyone would hear about it. Sigh. Smh. Why even bother anymore. Tryon isn't about change because it is a proud town. I admire that. But damn yall needa better dollar general. Love yall. Peace.

Manager refused to sell my wife items because they was to cheap. So when she questioned him and the DG polices he took the stuff she was trying to buy and called the law because my 5foot 100 lb wife was "scaring him". The manager name is Ellado and also banned me from store when i used my phone to video him and his actions.

Amazing store....cheaper to buy essentials here than in the IGA store next door. Lady at the register was a total sweetheart.

Store was a mess isles full of boxes things were just thrown on the shelves. This used to be a nice and clean store
