Josephine, it was great meeting you and hearing the history of your vineyard! Thank you for seating with us and sharing that information. We were out on a girl's Day trip, and the way you and your staff greeted us made our time at your vineyard well worth the drive! Chelsey, thank you. You were awesome!❣️ we are definitely looking forward to coming back! The food was delicious, and the vineyard was beautiful! WHAT A VIEW, to sit and enjoy a meal!

While camping nearby, we decided to check this place out. It’s dog friendly so Rex was happy. We went on a Friday at lunch time and it was not crowded at all. Staffing seemed short but our waitress was hustling. We ordered spinach and artichoke dip appetizer. She did a flight of wine tastings and I ordered a very tasty honey dew ale. We sat outside on the deck that overlooks the creek. Great view. This place has a restaurant and a small campground (minimal hookups for around 10 campers or RVs). I would have given it a 5 star review, but one of the workers was using a gas blower very close by. They should have done that before opening or after closing. Otherwise a good experience.

A little out of way but worth a Sunday drive to visit. The Restaurant Tasting Room situated above the river offers beautiful scenery. The menu was Cafe style, limited selections but ample enough to satisfy any hungry guests. The river itself is marked private, no trespassing. The manager said fishing is allowed as catch and release basis but is implied to apply to guests staying at their lodge.

We were giddy from the breathtaking views of the Roaring River from the wrap-around porch at @roaringrivervineyardThe awesome charcuterie board and Pimento dip with homemade Tortilla chips was a great way to enjoy a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon! AND the tasting room is dog friendly (they say dogs drink free)!🐾We discovered the vineyard has VRBO cabins and lodges....imagine our excitement when we asked and found out there was availability. We made the reservation and had the code to the Serendipity Cabin. So, we ordered more bottles of wine and food and were ready to spend a night relaxing along the Roaring River when a woman who works at the winery told us that we could not keep the reservation because the lodging is NOT DOG FRIENDLY!😭😱💔We were so close to an absolutely perfect experience that ended in disappointment! In the end, the tasting room is lovely, and sitting on the porch listening to the rapids is magical. Just do not plan to stay there if you are traveling with your beloved (and exceptionally well-behaved) furry family member!

A beautiful winery and restaurant! One of the few wineries in the area that has a solid food option in addition to their great wine offering. The food is outstanding too and very reasonably priced. You can sit on the outside deck and enjoy the sound and sight of the river as it flows in the background or enjoy a table inside. There are also a few rooms available that can be rented if you also wanted to stay at this beautiful setting for a couple of days. The owner is usually around when you visit and is very friendly, hospitable, and a great host. I highly recommend this place.

We stayed at the winery with the Harvest Host program. We enjoyed an early dinner and drinks at the restaurant. The wines were superior and the meals were delicious! The staff was helpful and attentive. The owner is personable and gracious!

We used to like this place for anniversary and special occasions. A little pricey but supporting a local business was worth it. Service was less than average. We had to ask for a wine menu at a winery! They changed the menu. Today’s lunch cost almost $80. Fish and a side $20, and yes those little things swimming amongst the hush puppies is the fish bites that should have cost no more than $10, a bowl of tomato soup $11, a side salad that they claim was a large, 2 glasses of wine and a sweet tea. My wife was so hungry afterwards that she ate the cold potato’s that I left in the car. The food wasn’t bad but you feel foolish paying that kind of money and for lunch and not leaving satisfied. The last time we went we said it was our last but shame on us we went back. Not again! What a shame we used to go and eat a steak and salmon dinner for two and not spend that much!Oh yeah. Why does everyone think that we want to go to a winery to eat and have a barking dog or two yapping all of the time? Train your dogs people or leave them at home!

Absolutely gorgeous venue! Owners Tom and Josephine were great to visit with... love Josephines stories!! ... :) Neat historical sawmill and gristmill location...perfectly designed and decorated lodging with amazing views and porches to enjoy the beautiful weather. Traveled thru on a long motorcycle trip so only able to stay one night before the restaurant opened [restaurant Thu-Sun]. We had caught a rain storm before we got there and were able to park under the canopy and dry things off. Thank you so much for the hospitality and creating such a wonderful place to stay! Wish we could have had longer to relax and enjoy but too many places planned on this ride!! 🙂

They have seating inside and out with wine or beer flights, tasting and food. Views to the river are beautiful. This vineyard also has small cottages for overnight stays which is great if you want to continue to explore the area.

This was a weekend getaway for my birthday the restaurant was welcoming and the staff treated us kindly. I do no dink alcohol but my husband talked me in to the wine tasting to my surprise I actually found one that I liked and bought a bottle. We will open it for our anniversary. We also stayed in the cabin and it was so peaceful just what I needed to decompress from Healthcare. Thank you again

Unbelievable accommodations and the staff was over the top kind and willing to assist us when asked while respecting our privacy for a romantic weekend. The staff offers a small selection on their menu so if you're looking for Golden Corral selection or a menu with a book full of options then this may not be the place for you. But, if you desire a location with unsurpassed scenery and a relatively quiet place to think about your life's experiences or a romantic relationship with your best friends this is it.We are already booking our next trip and bringing our closest friends to enjoy this oasis.

This property is amazing. You can stay in a cabin room on the river or park your RV close enough to walk to restaurant. The food was awesome at Chez Josephine and our server Rebecca was fantastic. The wine (I think all but one from property grapes) is well worth a wine tasting. I highly recommend a visit/stay at Roaring River Vineyards.

Roaring River has always been one of our favorites. Maybe we hit them on a bad day today, but we were completely under whelmed. We asked for a tasting and they told us to have a seat that they no longer do tastings at the wine bar. We then received a variety of wines in small shot glasses.... some with barely enough to taste, others almost full, others in dirty glasses. As with many other wineries in the area, the tasting experience has gone away and you are basically just given a few wines and left to your own devices. We understood during Covid that processes needed to be done differently, but now it’s just pure laziness.

The viognier was excellent. The service was great. The view was fabulous. My husband and I stopped by for a wine tasting. We stayed for a bottle of wine, appetizers, and a relaxing view on the patio overlooking the river. We will definitely visit this vineyard again.

A cozy restaurant to get a bite to eat after hiking at nearby Stone Mountain State Park. Their varied selection of red and white wines is about what you would expect for North Carolina. They have a very nice deck to eat on that overlooks the river. The service was excellent.

Just WOW. You have to check this beautiful place out. When you first arrive you are instantly transported to the French countryside and then you are blown away by the most spectacular views of a roaring river as you sip the most delicious wine. The property is stunning and they even have lodges that you can stay at right next to the river or even book a party. Save your 3k flying to France and visit this astonishing Vineyard right here in the United States!!!

We took my mother here as part of here birthday dinner. The atmosphere, staff, food and wine were all top notch. You could not beat sitting out on the porch looking over beautiful scenery and listening to the water. The crab dip was fantastic! Their prices are beyond reasonable for tastings. They’re Covid compliant and make extra efforts to stay that way which we much appreciated. We ended up being shown around by the owner at the lodging and venue space. If you have an event I suggest checking this place out!It will be an easy return visit for us!

T. Silva and Roaring River Vineyards are the most gracious hosts sharing this little piece of heaven on North Carolinas Roaring River since 2001. Well appointed river side accommodations with a beautiful natural background and setting. Take a long weekend and enjoy Chez Josephine and a great Chardonnay or stay midweek to escape the hustle and bustle of your day to day. You won't regret it! (Update) Back again this spring and once again, another great visit and gracious hosts!

A lil hidden gem! Great value for wine tastings and the food was good. We sat out on the (covered) deck, and the river running past is so pretty. The crab dip was especially good.

My husband and I were passing through North Carolina visiting friends. When we travel we look forward to finding hidden gems. #RoaringRiverVineyards is EXACTLY that! In the NC mountains not far off the #BlueRidgeMountainTrail. Is this beautifully landscaped, peaceful, tranquil, escape from reality! If you are looking for a #Romantic #Getaway. If you are looking for a Special #Anniversary #Surprise this is the place! You could hold your bridal shower here! You could hold your #WeddingVenue here! Or use this as your #Honeymoon #Escape #Retreat! When you open the door to your #GuestRoom you will feel like you are entering a French country side #cottage. The guest rooms are beautifully designed and decorated! The kitchen in each room has all the appliances necessary to prepare your favorite foods. Just make sure you bring all the ingredients. You are at least 30 minutes from the closest grocery store. A friendly note here: while the cottages do come with a coffee pot filters and coffee mugs. If you are some who needs breakfast when you wake up first thing. The resort restaurant is not open for breakfast so make sure you pack some breakfast food. The balcony over looking the rapidly flowing waters of the adjacent river is the perfect place to sit relax and enjoy nature! There is a common gathering building where all guests can congregate and larger parties can celebrate being together. My wife and I challenge everyone traveling with in 50 miles of this fabulous hidden gem of a #resort. To take the time to travel to #Roaring #River #Vineyards say hi to owners Tom and Josephine and see the beautiful creation of their hard work and talent. One last thing, I forgot to mention the #wines! Yes, many award winners! from a sweet La Peche, a semi sweet Traminette, a semi dry Viognier, a French Chablis style Chardonnay, to #RedWines a Norton red, a Cabernet Sauvignon, and our favorite the #Yadkin #Valley Rock n Roll #red #Wine. This wine will definitely quench your passion for life! Finally the on site restaurant #Chez #Josephine is currently serving their lunch menu from 11:00 am till 5 pm. The meals we had were exquisitely prepared, presented and delicious!#Bon appétit!
