My boyfriend and I booked a trip with this amazing company and had the time of our lives! Everyone that works for this family-owned business was so kind, helpful, and humorous! Our guide Jeremy was outstanding! He was so knowledgeable about the area’s history, flora & fauna, and the river. His knowledge of the river and his excellent steering allowed us to do rock spins which was an absolute blast. Jeremy also gave us many tips about local hikes and restaurants in the area. We will be back to take on the duckies!

Family of 5 (kids 9, 10, 16) first time rafting. We had an awesome time. Oliver was our guide and he was professional but also killing it with the dad jokes. Our oldest went overboard at the tail end of the trip but it was all good…Oliver pulled her up quickly and she has a great story to tell. Our two youngest opted not to wear the wetsuits and they were warm enough even on a 60-65 degree day. It was beautiful out. We saw mallards, a bald eagle, bats, and butterflies. Oliver spotted a few beaversharks. Great time. Highly recommended. Don’t forget to tip your guide 😉

Everyone that works for this company was very kind, helpful and knowledgeable. I had not planned ahead for this activity but when I called they accommodated! From the time I called to when we were geared up it only took 30mins! My boyfriend and I went out with Dale! It was our first time rafting but with Dale’s guidance we felt like pros.I can’t recall everyone’s names but the cashier, bus driver and owner welcomed us in and helped make this a very memorable experience! Oh and of course Dale!

This is not the first time me and my family went on a trip with Carolina! Last time a party of 6, this time a party of 8! Would highly recommend paying the extra to use the guide service. The rafts on this and my last trip 2yrs ago not guided are always getting stuck on rocks going to shallow spots and missing the exit point very frustrating for guides we pay to have to help all the self guided boats!!! Besides self guided boat issues we had a really Awesome time and lots of FUN! Can tell you they customize each trip to experience and Comfort of the raft goers. 2 years ago we had our elderly parents go with us and we did a mellow ride down the river(Barret), This year We didn't have Elderly (ages 52-12) and we had a more exhilarating and entertaining ride!(Tyler) would highly recommend this outfit!

AMAZING! Jeremy was very knowledgeable about the water and the area! We got to get out and jump into the river! Got to do awesome rock spins (Jeremy sent it a little too far and launched himself out of the boat, but he was back in the boat in record time… honestly very impressive for a near death experience🤣)It was so great though! All the guides were amazing! I felt safe! Rapids were fun! Great for beginners! Can’t recommend it enough!

My husband wanted to go whitewater rafting so bad for our anniversary and I had such reservations. I was so nervous and Matt Stephens and the staff there calmed my fears and pumped me up for the upcoming adventure. Matt was our guide and he was amazing! I had the best time and enjoyed our experience so much!!! He was very entertaining and knowledgeable about the area. I could not ask for a better time. Today was epic!!! Im so glad I went!

This was our first rafting trip. It was awesome! Highly recommend doing a guided service. Mac was very professional and had great knowledge of the river and the surrounding area. Everyone was very professional. I'd definitely use them again. My family had a blast.

We are return customers and would never go rafting with any other outfitter! Our guide, Ollie, was knowledgeable about rafting, local history, nature, and had lots of great jokes. Ollie made the trip safe and fun!!! The scenery is beautiful from the Nantahala River! We had a great rafting experience and could not have asked for a better day!!!

What an amazing day on the Nantahala! This was my fourth whitewater experience(I am front left), my daughter's second experience (she is right behind me on the left) my wife(right front) and son-in-law's(right rear) first experience. Our guide Jeremy was such a pro! He was very knowledgeable about the area's history, flora and fauna. His knowledge of the river and his ability to let us act the fool while giving us a thrilling ride was unparalleled! I must give a HUGE shoutout to Carolina Outfitters and their guides(especially Jeremy) for their relentless and unequivocal attention to safety and detail! Watching unguided boats and other outfitter's boats(who shall remain nameless) getting jammed up, way overloaded, and stuck made me extremely grateful to Carolina Outfitters for their professionalism as they repeatedly assisted the other boaters in their time of need. PLEASE BOOK WITH CAROLINA OUTFITTERS AND JEREMY AS YOUR GUIDE FOR THIS BEAUTIFUL EXCURSION! You will be so happy you did! I must mention Jeremy once more as he was simply awesome!

This is my second rafting trip with Carolina Outfitters and they are the best! Each trip was a little different, but each guide and experience was the absolute best. The most recent trip was with my husband and twin 9 year olds. The guide, Steven, was awesome. He was so kind and reassuring to my nervous child and was just so kind and funny. He educated us on the surrounding areas and taught us some fun tricks in the boat. We all had a blast, can't wait to do it again and would only use Caroline Outfitters for our rafting experience.

The family had such a great time on the river. Carolina outfitters are great and made our adventure memorable. The section of the Nantahala River that they put us on is great for beginners and has enough rapids to make it very exciting. We hope to go again and perhaps do the Ocoee River with this group next year.

My son and I were taken out with the guide Tyler. He was absolutely awesome! He had us spinning when safely to do so and had us laughing and enjoying ourselves the whole time. Best time I have had in a long time! The business is family owned and it was easy to get a last minute appointment tl go rafting and everyone who works their mskes you feel like they have know you for years. Very kind and welcoming. They make sure you are care of amd thst you have a very fun rafting adventure. Thank you all at there for a great birthday present to myself and making fun memories with my child.

Our party of 9 was led by Mark and Kyle (with another guide being trained, Tony). The whole staff was pleasant and professional. We had one person fall off of each of the two rafts and the guides showcased their training and remained calm in helping rescue our fallen friends. The quality of the facility could use some work with the gift shop, changing rooms and bathrooms being outdated and a little dirty (plus the bathrooms were all unavailable after our excursion because they were broken). Overall, I would do this trip again and use the same guides! The staff definitely knows the river and knows how to safely and effectively help a bunch of novices out there! Thank you!

We had the best experience doing the Nantahala rafting. We went as a group of 10 and for most of us this was our first time whitewater rafting. All the guides were genuinely intentional, they went above and beyond making sure everyone is comfortable and had a good time. Our guide was Jeremy and is excellent. Informative, skilled and extremely knowledgeable. His knowledge of the river is impressive, he doesn’t miss any important rocks including the spinning ones 😁. What was also impressive was his attentiveness to other non guided boats, making sure they remained safe and always within sight. All in all this was a fun experience and I highly recommend this business.

I had a wonderful time on a single duckie. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, safety conscious and diligent on sanitizing equipment. My memories of this day will last a life time. The media/photography was excellent and went above and beyond to meet my request even after I left the facility. The pics captured a moment in my life I will never forget. I have been to several other rattling trips in the area but this by far was the best. I will definitely return to Carolina Outfitters from now on nothing else will compare. See you soon.

Today I had an incredible experience with Carolina Outfitters . We had four of us and we booked a trip yesterday and got right in at 12 pm the following day . Only one of us had gone before and the two guys felt we didn’t need the guided tour . So glad we decided to pay extra for the guide . Today we had Dale and he was awesome. He made you feel safe and knew so much about the area and river ,we had a great time . I highly suggest, the guided tour . We had a few scary situations at end but Dale explained how to position ourselves and had no problems.This is a must do for your next vacation. Was a cool morning they provide wetsuits and life jackets . The wetsuit made all the difference .One person's refused it and really regretted not having it. The river is 50 degrees year round and the high today was 61 degrees. Waterproof shoes are a game changer . Your feet get soaked but if you don’t have any , you can buy water shoes there for a reasonable price . The views were spectacular and the highlight of our visit to Highlands , NC . It was 51 miles from our location but the ride is beautiful the entire way. Don’t miss out on this adventure! I promise you won’t be disappointed. Thank you Dale for a wonderful day had by all ❤️

Great and safe tour. Very good explanations. Note: This is kind of a beginner's river, if you're searching for something more adventurous, take the tour on the other river or not the ducky boat, it's a bit foolproof :)

Such a great family experience! My family and I had the pleasure of having Ollie for our guide on the raft. We felt safe the entire ride being in his hands. He was very knowledgeable about the area and history of the land and river. We had a blast going down the rapids. Highly recommend this spot. The rest of the staff is also very friendly and attentive.

We had an awesome day! Although we decided to do a self-guided rafting experience, the staff were very thorough in their safety instructions and took time to make sure we were comfortable with the equipment. They also went above and beyond to look out for us throughout the trip, which we weren’t expecting and appreciated later.All the equipment was provided for us and they even threw in dry suits for us for free, due to the chilly 65degree weather that day! I highly recommend and hope to use them again in the future!

My family and I had a blast. Our guide was the professor, he showed us a good time but still very safe. I love that the place is family-owned and once you're there you feel like part of family. Brittany gave excellent instructions while also being very funny. I also liked that the life jackets we're all sanitized. No question about it this is the place to go for first timers or even experienced rafters and Britney enjoy your trip to India.

We had an amazing time!We went while on vacation. Tyler was a wonderful guide and made it even more enjoyable. I don’t think we stopped laughing and smiling during the entire time. We highly recommend this company and if you want live entertainment on your boat ask for Tyler! You will have a blast.

This was my first time here and nerve-wrecking, but we were here for the birthday girl's 50th birthday wish. Half of us ladies had never done white water rafting before. There were 2 guides for our crew with 2 different rafts. Jeremy helped trained us on how to raft and what to do if we or someone were to fall. Our raft had Jeremy and our friends had the other guide, Dale (an older gentleman). Jeremy was awesome! He helped give us a brief history of all the landmarks and even popped a few corny jokes here and there. I felt like we were the fun raft b/c the other raft seemed very quiet. Heard from the other ladies later on that they didn't have any brief history commentaries and Dale didn't really converse with them unless he was asked a question. So glad we got Jeremy...stating so, we were extra super glad we had him b/c our friend fell off the raft!!! She couldn't swim either and due to the way the currents were, she had to glide down with the water while we quickly move the raft to where she was. Everything we learned went out the door. Jeremy dropped her once or twice while the rest of us were hit with thick tree branches, breaking them with our backs, heads, and ears...it was scary, but Jeremy saved the day and was able to safely pull our friend back into the raft. It was very scary and honestly, I will never white water raft again even though our guide was a professional and awesome. I never wanted to do it and this would be the last time. With our last "bump" before the end of the river, I fell off my seat into the raft and couldn't even get back up. Yep, no more for me, but thank you to Jeremy and Carolina Outfitters for an experience never to forget! You're a cutie, but nope, not for me :P
