Absolutely amazing place and service! We go to the mountains every year, and this was by far our best trip. The cabin and location were amazing and no one wanted to leave when our time was up. Kids are already asking when we can go back! The staff at Sundog were extremely helpful and the communication was outstanding. Highly recommend this Sundog Vacation Rentals and the Retreat at Shoal Creek rental!

We enjoyed our stay at Retreat at Shoal Creek mainly because of the beautiful, roaring creek beside the cabin; however, the attention to details by management/owners has been overlooked. Communication via text or e-mail prior to and during our stay was nonexistent but I was able to get a hold of someone in the office via phone during business hours. None of the lights by the creek worked and many of the lightbulbs on the deck were burned out PLUS the main light in the living room fan did not work. Management said they knew the switch was bad and could try to get someone out to fix it but they were short-handed, and we didn’t want to be bothered by maintenance workers on our vacation, so we just made do with the floor lamps in the corners of the room. The driveway was in bad condition and had washed dirt and sand onto one end of the deck; the rest of the deck and furniture on it were filthy, as were all of the windowsills inside. The layout of the bedrooms upstairs is strange - one is at the top of the stairs with no door but has the 1/2 bath attached; you have to go through that bedroom to get to the other one. The cabin is in a great location for sightseeing and visiting nearby towns but it is right on the highway and the traffic noise is terrible.

We have used Sundog a few times now. I have absolutely no complaints. The staff is fantastic and knowledgeable if you have any questions about the area. Before we arrived for our Thanksgiving vacation, I was notified that our thermostat was not working properly. They apologized for any inconvenience. it was fixed before we arrived a couple of hours later. They had a few extras such as trash bags, a roasting pan(that I had forgotten for our turkey, and som tinfoil). Rental properties I have stayed at have always been immaculate. We will continue to use Sundog and look forward to booking again next fall. Highly recommend!

Mountain creek was a great place to stay. Just wish we had more outdoor furniture to enjoy the sounds of the creek. This cabin is not handicap friendly and I was mis informed when I rented it. Other reviews I have read said there were spiders everywhere but all we seen was lady bugs. There is one bed up stairs that you can't sleep in because the room Slopes so bad. For the most part it was a great place to stay.

We spent 11 days in one of the Sundog properties and it was great. Sundog was extremely helpful and responsive. Bear Lake Resort, where we stayed is absolutely beautiful and our house "Hawks Nest" was perfect for us. We would use Sundog again for our next vacation.

Rented and stayed in the cabin, “Blueberry Ridge”. The Sundog staff was incredibly helpful during the entire process!! The check-in process was so easy, as the staff sent everything I needed to make it as smooth as well in advance. The cabin, itself, was super convenient to water activities and shopping. It was very clean and comfortable. My family and I will be using their services for all vacation home needs!! Thank y’all so much! You all rock!!

We've been working with Sundog Vacation Rentals for over a year now as the property manager for our mountain home. They professionally take care of everything from listings, advertising, booking, maintenance, winterization, cleaning and renter interaction. They are responsive when contacted and keep open lines of communication. Really glad to have found them and highly recommend their reasonable property management services.

We stayed at Bear Lake Reserve, the Deer Hollow Cottage. The location and property were beautiful. The access to hiking, lakes, creeks and parks was wonderful. However, we did have a issues with the property Managers, #Sundog Vacation Rentals.1). Several light bulbs were burned out both on interior and exterior fixtures. Not having exterior lights did not make us comfortable at night since we could not see to go out to our vehicle.2). Our cable did not work and after repeated calls to have it checked out NO ONE called us back or sent an email following up; we were ignored. This ruined our Thanksgiving Day and weekend. We were not able to host events at our cottage with friends. Our family was not able to enjoy the Thanksgiving Day parade, dog show, football and holiday specials. We had to make alternate arrangements with people who were not prepared to host as we were. To not have ANY response from staff is unacceptable and very disappointing for the price we paid to rent the cottage. Both scenarios could have been avoid if someone would have checked the cottage prior to our arrival.3). We left the cottage at Bear Lake early Sunday morning, before the guard was at the Greeter's Cottage. As we read through the check out procedures in the binder at the cottage, we noticed there were no instructions for where leave the gate key for Bear Lake. After several phone calls to the after hours services for both #Sundog and Bear Lake, we left the gate key with the house keys on the counter in the cottage. We can only assume this was not a no problem since we have not been contacted about a missing gate key.We enjoyed the property and location, however the lack of attention to detail and customer service was not work the price of the rental. If I were the owners of this cottage I would find another property manager for better service; you are not getting what you pay for.

I want to say with Covid-19 I have been hesitant to go anywhere but when we arrived Harper's Bearfoot Heaven it was spot on clean. It was decorated so cute and did I mention so clean. The extra special advantage of this cabin, it is pet friendly, so our pup enjoyed vacation too. We had the " get away" to the mountains but with the modern conveniences of the cabin. We used the fireplace inside, we sat around the firepit at night and enjoyed the hot tub. In the morning we had our coffee on the deck overlooking the beautiful scenery. It was close enough to everything but far enough to be “away”. We visited Highlands, saw dry falls and bridal veil falls (We recommend, beautiful), one day went to Gatlinburg (saw elks on way, super cool) and we went to Franklin. One day it rained all day and we just enjoyed doing " nothing" in the Cabin. We took our pup everywhere we went. We enjoyed our trip so much next time we will be back with the kids. We highly highly recommend this rental.

Gerhart Getaway was so comfortable! It really felt like home. The beds were so comfortable and cozy. I really liked the electric fire place in each room. The house has a washer/dryer, which was a blessing, as we vacationed with my 2 teenage sons.There are so many things to do within an hour drive. We ate at some wonderful restaurants in Sylva...Creekside Oyster House was our favorite, Haywood Smokehouse was amazing, and Foragers Canteen was great!We definitely had an amazing vacation!

Sadly I have to give a review to say be warned if you stay at Creekside Comfort!! We travelled here for graduation and had our son meet us at the house to get our dog and kept the dog outside while we waited and because they saw the dog on the outdoor footage are charging us $250. We explained what we were doing and that we followed their policy of no dogs by keeping her outside while we waited and they didn’t care and said we were being hostile (of course i was upset because we were being accused of something we didn’t do) and said the fee had to be paid. I was upset because we were just waiting outside for my son and I’ve never had a rental company that would not care about the customer and not listen to the fact that we didn’t do what they were accusing us of and the only option was we had to pay. So wrong and very bad customer service. We will not be using this rental company and that’s sad because we come to Cullowhee a lot.

Stayed at Harper’s Bearfoot Heaven and loved the cozy atmosphere and decor. Enjoyed the hot tub at night with the beautiful mountains in the backdrop. Very quiet and serene with complete privacy. Surrounded by quaint towns for shopping and dining. Will definitely go back!

This place exceeded my expectations! So much room to spread out and we loved the yurts! We cooked, enjoyed the fireplace, the views, and sleeping in the yurts. Perfect for two families. One thing to note - the lake is drained until the end of 2018. That was the only disappointment. Would be MUCH better with the water to explore and enjoy, but the property was so nice we still had a great weekend.

In the Name of God, I write:After arriving from Dubai, UAE, my family and I wanted to visit the smoky mountains and have quality family time. Thank God for Sundog Vacation Rentals! We found them online and everyone worked so very well to make sure that we have the most comfortable and convenient accommodations. We could not have asked for a better, cleaner and so refreshing place as we had in Sylva, NC. Anyone interested in a well kept, rustic and peaceful dwelling should really appreciate the one we had, God willing. We stayed at Harper’s Bearfoot Heaven and it was just that... heaven!! The cabin is absolutely beautiful, well appointed and gorgeously decorated. The beds are comfortable, hot tub relaxing, and fireplace cozy, not to mention the stunning views. Don’t pass up a chance to stay here!!

Recently stayed at the Tree House and the Golden Fox at Bear Lake Reserve. Sundog Vacation Rentals went out of their way to make sure that I was able to arrive late and then made things right when we had problems at the Tree House. Their communication with me about my rental was excellent and I look forward to renting with them again.

We LOVED the Garhart getaway ! It was very clean , nice and had a beautiful view . It is set back in the county but close to an adorable town ! It was so close to all the North Carolina beautiful places to visit and see ! We had a group of 8 and had plenty room for night time family games . I highly recommend the Garhart getaway ! My family and I will be back !

Do not trust this company. They promise a discount over the phone and take down your info for booking. Charges go through the morning of the trip and discount was not applied.No response to emails - agent supposedly off for the holidays but no out of office was received. Called the office on day 3 of our trip and waited all day to hear back from a manager... nothing. Got a call at 4pm that the manager is busy and they don’t give discounts but will honor it next time?!?! That is not acceptable and seems quite fraudulent.Rental agreement also magically disappeared from the link in the email. I was still able to access it a couple days into the trip.Also had a service issue and the agent called in the evening but said he’d follow up the next day since it was late. Never got a call back.Still waiting on my refund or for the manager to bother making time.

The unit we rented was gorgeous and immaculately clean. It was very comfortable and only 12 miles from Sylva. They thought of every detail even heated tiles in the bathroom!

Above the clouds is where we stayed. It wasn't worth what we paid to rent for a week. The fence wasn't that secured for the pets. The beds were the worst we ever slept on!
