It is a nice place. But how much money you spend or how you dress will definitely have a difference in your experience here. With the owners. I like how some of the cashier's who aren't partial owners or friends or family of owners. Just a hired outside employee treats every customer the same. Not being extra nice and helpful to someone specific just because they obviously have money. That and jacked up prices on food. That's why I don't go here much. Mostly cause the staff, is usually slow, and bunch of old timers standing around talking. Idk just not my thing. Good for sport fishing and old timers. Tourists. No bathrooms. Open and check the $6 1 gallon of milk before driving away cause though it's in date it's usually bad. Not bad in a pinch. Only place around. But they just built family dollar next door. But it's got it's issues too.

Terrible bathrooms, small selection of "fresh food". If you are considering food from this location, you have already made a plethora of mistakes that started with visiting the town.

Small town family owned store. Don't let fool you. They have pretty much everything you need. Meats are reasonably priced n excellent quality. Produce is superb being this is how it started. Friendly people.

Small but super meat counter with huge chops, fresh sausage & chicken and 1&1/2" thick steaks. Great local stop.PLUS fully equipped bait and tackle shop and hardware store.

Chris’ Grocery is a an important part of Hyde County with an awesome story. Not only can you find the groceries you need but you can also grab something from the grill. Chris’ outdoor, hunting, and fishing selection is among the best in the area. You can always expect a kind welcome and great service.

It's a real nice place to pickup your everyday items, bread, milk and more and there's a hunting gear type hardware store attached to it...

If they don't have it here, you aren't going to get it as it's the only thing around swan quarter. Friendly folks but very limited selection. They have steaks, beer, fishing, and hunting supplies.
