This is normally the Food Lion I go to on Saturdays if Publix does not have a few things I need. The store is a mixed bag. It is normally clean, opens early, has solid meat and dairy selections with medium prices, and there are a few genuinely friendly and helpful employees.On the minus side of things, produce is sometimes old, bread prices are virtually always high, and most floor employees and vendors are quite unfriendly. I'm not sure that they understand the concept of treating customers well, and that has caused me to take much of my grocery shopping elsewhere.

Went in yesterday around 8 through self checkout, I had some trouble with how to use it because we don’t do the self checkout often ,and the kind young worker helped me and my husband out and he was very polite

stay away from the meat section,its disgusting an no way its real meat,tryna sell filets,2 pack of thick filets for 6 -9$ no way in $%#&,makes me so mad theybget away with sellin this garbage to the public

Every time I visit this location, either To-Go or in person, it is PHENOMENAL! Everyone there is nice and friendly, goes out of their way to make sure your good. One time an associate saw me looking for something and saw that I was frustrated because it was out of stock. He asked me what item I was looking for, and without saying anything he went to the back, (I assumed) and came back with the item. I thought that was great and unexpected. Every time I order To-Go 90% of the time I arrive after 8:00, which is when To-Go closes and the associates that work To-Go have gone home. They allow me to call the store and pull up to the front door and so graciously brings my order out to me. They don't have to do that...technically they could ask me to wait until To-Go opens back up the next morning. GAGE (I think that is his name) is the one that always answers the phone when I call to ask about coming later than 8:00. He has not one time made me feel like this was an issue. He is great, he even brings it out to me himself. Again, this is not something that is required of them. Today I ordered To-Go, and unfortunately, I got a message (from Instacart) saying that the store was busy, and my order would be rescheduled for pick up tomorrow morning. Of course, I was upset, given the fact that half of the order I needed for tonight for supper and in the morning for my kid's lunch boxes. So, I called the store just to see if they could do anything. HALEY (she is the manager over Customer Service) answered the phone and from the moment she spoke I knew I found the right person. I could tell she was smiling as she was talking to me. I explained what happened and that I really needed this order. I would have cancelled the order and went inside to get it myself but To-Go (Instacart) had already taken my money for the order, so I would have to wait for a refund. In addition to having to pay for my order again when I went into the store to purchase it. So, without hesitation she said I will take care of this. I will call Instacart myself and get this order pushed through. Keep in mind she is working and still took the time to stop what she was doing to call Instacart. Which I know for a fact is not something they have to do on the customers behalf. She was determined to make this happen so I could get my order this evening. She DID! She called me back and said I took care of it, and she personally shopped my order. This was something that meant so much to me. This location is the ONLY one I shop at, not because the location is convenient, actually it's across town from where I live. It's because of the people that work there, and how they treat their customers. This may seem like something little and not a big deal to some, but to me it was everything. It's about the little things and always will be. So, thank you Food Lion #1411, Haley, Gage, and all the To-Go shoppers for always taking care of me and my family. I hope everyone takes the time to read this review and changes where they are currently shopping for their groceries.Shawna Lubrano

The people are friendly and helpful here. I don't buy my groceries there anymore because the produce is rarely fresh. They don't carry a lot of cooking spices or items I need for how I cook. Their bread isle of ho-hum with not much selection, and I am not fond of their brand deli meats.

They keep the kids buggies beside the smoking section for workers. Trash all over cigarette buts everywhere and me and my kids have to go smoke with your employees to get a kids buggy

most of the employees are out there and or on a cell phone or chatting with other employees ... I’ve gone to often to catch them perhaps maybe they are fooling around just once in awhile...seems food Lion doesn’t give a rip about training. Don’t even know how to count change if the register doesn’t tell them what to do. UNBELIEVABLE . HWY 115 is the very worst,..I’ve reported theft and other and they looked at me as if I was crazy..tonite I wanted bread that I rarely buy and every loaf of Sunbeam ( which wasn’t in the mainbread aisle) was crushed down from the top to the bottom an was 3.99 each wth? Thank God for the new stores here !

Went here the other day and some of the cashiers were making jokes about a certain WW2 figure and flirting with each other however they still provided good service and the place was well stocked and cleaned

It's an ok store. The prices of everything here a higher compared to the other stores. The deli is hardly opened in the evenings and on weekends. Plus there are only a few friendly employees that work here.

Uncommonly great customer service!I purchased some steak there recently. When I went to prep them to grill 2 days later, one of them had turned bad. I returned it to the customer service desk, & not only did they swap it out for new product, but they also refunded my original purchase price.I wish all places of business still treated their customers this way.

Our cashier this evening was great!! So nice and friendly! It's good to see people who like their jobs!! On another note, this store was very well stocked and clean! Every employee we went past was so nice, asking if we needed help finding anything or just a simple hello.

Customer service is at an all-time low at this store. Tonight my cashier never acknowledged I was at the register. She just started scanning my groceries while she continued her conversation with the lady beside her (who was supposed to be assisting people with self check out). Their conversation was about wages of all things. She didn't even tell me how much I owed. I put my debit card in the reader, saw that it was approved, picked up my bags and walked out. She offered no "thank you", "have a nice evening" or a receipt. I'm sorry to say this, but it will be Ingles for me from now on.

Love this place in the day... but hate self check out and lazy cashier's at night they had a few weeks ago refused to help me at the register. I had to ask manager to help me. Glad for the staff in the day tho!!!

Over all pretty good store , little bit concerned about where some of the food items are canning products canning products are something you put in items like cucumbers- peaches- strawberries- and other types of berries - don’t think they should be put with Hot - Shot roach killer -Ants - and other insects produces - mice and rat Killer , and with wood fire starting products would like to see this moved and also it took three different people to point me to where this is at at last I found it on my own but what I was looking for you didn’t have . And for some young people not knowing what things are like canning jars I can understand that theses days canning is just not done much theses day , But if your in retell business most should know , This is my input weather it be changed or not don’t actually know but Thank you anyway and Have A Good Day .

Was thrilled they had vegan pepper jack cheese but made me sad when told they may stop carrying if. Terrible that stores give up carrying vegan products without giving time for us to know they carry it.

There’s this young lady named Eema. She is my most favorite-ist person ever 😖. She so speedy as a cashier with the groceries and bagger. She is also super duper nice 😊. You need to give her more hours so I can see her more often 😤😤😤. I’m sure if y’all gave her a raise, she would be able to take care of her family if 5 and pay her bills without struggling.She is my favorite cashier , all other ones are slow and complain about not wanting to bag my 25 2Liter sodas individually, double bagged 🐥

I went to rent a carpet cleaner today and encountered the rudest customer service manager I have ever experienced. First off, if someone needs a carpet cleaner, chances are they have an unexpected emergency. On the initial contact, I asked Sandy Wiley if I needed to rent it from the checkout line. Her response, "the big one doesn't work, someone complained about it." Okay, so don't have it sitting there! My reply, "I need the smaller one." Per Sandy, "it probably doesn't work either, no one has rented it out in a long time." My response, "well, I need one, so I guess I'll rent it, and if doesn't work, hopefully, you'll give me refund." She sighed and rolled her eyes and said I'd have to wait at the customer service desk. I wait for her at the customer service desk. She obviously doesn't want to deal with the paperwork. She asks for my license. I search for it and realize I have forgotten it due to I was traveling all day yesterday and it was in my carry on bag. I tell her I have another photo ID and know my license # and my address on my license is incorrect anyhow. She rudely smiles and says nope, that won't work. Not everyone has a drivers license, so I'm curious how those cases are handled?Sandy Riley didn't know that I had been traveling all day yesterday to get home to my daughter who was home sick with Covid. Upon arriving home, my dog had a very unfortunate accident on our rug. Sandy Riley also didn't have an once of empathy and should seek another profession besides Customer Service Manager. She made my bad situation a lot worse.I went to two Dollar Generals, then Food Lion on Old Mountain Road where I found what I needed along with professional, helpful employees. They accepted the ID I had, took the payment, and were friendly! Perhaps Sandy Riley was having her own personal issues? Regardless, she should try some kindness during these hard times. I will choose to do my grocery shopping somewhere else.

Love this store! Everyone from manager to cashiers to meat dept. Or deli as well as you stockers are friendly and helpful! Along w a clean store and restrooms I appreciate the low prices I can always count on from food lion! My go to grocery store for sure!
