Great place in a small town. We made the drive here and were glad we did. The cafe and taproom is big and comfortable with a nice selection of coffee, beer and wine. The gallery next door is a great space showcasing local artists work. They have classes that teach pottery and glassblowing just have to sign up 24 hours before the class starts.

This is a wonderful center for learning all kinds of artistic skills, including glassblowing, blacksmithing, and welding, among many others. My wife, my son, and myself have all taken classes there. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to learn such hands-on arts skills.

Lots of dedicated and hardworking folks here, if you're local I definitely recommend checking out at least one of their events. I have been going to Firefest several years and I love it. It was definitely something everyone of all ages can enjoy. Their glass/ceramic pieces are all unique and the gallery showcase lots of talented works. They have scheduled workshops too for those interested. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly and everyone is so chill. Overall, just a neat place to visit.

The STARworks Cafe and Taproom is inside the STARworks Gallery building where you will find a wide variety of glass and ceramic gifts. Each year they have a special presentation of their glass pumpkins (reservations required) and it's a very popular event.Parking is easy and the building has accessible entrances both at the main area and the Taproom. After visiting the gallery you can explore the Cafe that provides premade sandwiches, plenty of espresso offerings, and other goodies to enjoy in a large room with table and comfortable seating. The staff is friendly, the food is good, the environment is filled with artwork and bright colours, and they also have live music (see location for schedule). If you're looking for a well-rounded arts experience, plus a cafe and taproom to enjoy on-site, highly recommended.

Went to firefest had an absolutely wonderful time saw some really marvelous art displayed and for sale. Watched some very creative and talented people give some demonstrations and had the opportunity to see the unveiling of their firefest feature. I wish I took a picture of it but I only have it in video. Absolutely stunning.

It’s a really cute place, I didn’t realize all these years visiting my mother that it was a great coffee shop in Montgomery County. I personally think it’s the best in town, I’ve been to others but they don’t compare. It’s a cute park outside as well to walk for a bit. If you’re a Pokémon go fanatic like me it’s a nice spot for it. The staff is kind and super friendly. The coffee ☕️ here is better than several places I’ve been in Greensboro, I love the ambiance and plants . I bought a cute and beautiful coffee ☕️ cup here, it’s a cat 🐈 & flower theme. Has to be my favorite, was a little pricy but worth the price for the work and support for local businesses.

I took an intro to fabrication and metal working class with Mac and it was AWESOME! For anyone looking to get into welding this is the perfect way to get started. I know just what kind of equipment I need for my home shop and got a ton of hands-on practice welding on different thicknesses and orientations of material. Don't pass this up if you want to learn how to weld! We also got to use the plasma cutter and other relevant tools.

This is a great little coffee shop/cafe. They have several food options including macaroni and cheese and breakfast sandwiches. Coffee is good. They also serve beer and wine in the evening. The second Friday of each month is karaoke and it’s SO fun! They have board games and a giant community puzzle at all times. We come here regularly.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly, even the karaoke is family friendly!

These artists work so hard to produce these beautiful blown glass pumpkins. Lots of different colors this year to choose from. Yes there was a wait in line but everyone talked to each other and joked. It was fun. You are also near the Seagrove Pottery area. Check it out while in the area. We make a day of it. We have been for 3 years and we will go again next year.

A multi purpose facility for the pottery community in the pottery capital of the country.Had pottery and glass supplies, studios, displays of work, a restaurant, and other amenities.Located in what appears to be an old school, it has ample space for its operations. The basement level is stacked with clays and chemicals for glazes. Few premixed glazes, though, as it caters to those who mix their own.Update Dec 2021: Customer service in departments is less than desirable. Despite several calls to ceramics, all sat on hold interminably. It was noted during our visit that the staffer in ceramics was on the phone during the entire visit. Either the call volume requires more staff, or personal calls interfere with customer service.

Really cool place. We happened to go on a rare weekday that they weren't working. They had just had a big event the weekend prior and they were taking the day off to recover. Go figure... They had a lot of really beautiful glass work. It was worth stopping by even if they weren't doing their typical demonstrations.

Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to sample the beverages but we were able to view some of the beautiful glass that was on display. Also, we were very appreciative of a young man named Jamie... thanks for your time explaining your mission and for your kindness. Only had a short time to visit but will definitely be back. Thank you.

Starwork has a huge gallery of pottery and glass artwork. If your looking for something for your art collection or for a gift this place is worth the drive. The prices are on the steep side though. Starwork also carries potters clay and a small amount of supplies.
