I wish I could give this place 10 stars, years ago when I was in my 20s, I purchased a beagle from them by the name of Buddy and he was such a loyal, dog, healthy, sweet but unfortunately I wasn’t able to keep him after 2 yrs I had to bring him back. I was getting a divorce and the apartment complex I moved into wouldn’t accept him. Then, several years later, I contacted again when I felt I could manage another, and they remembered me. As luck would have it they understood my situation and how hard it was that day to let Buddy go. They also could tell that I took really good care of him as did they. You won’t believe it she says to me on the phone! They had the perfect suitor for me Sara. Next to Buddy, she’s the best companion I’ve ever had I’ve been together seven years now and she’s doing just fine. Minus 10 teeth and $1700 A few days before Christmas of 23, Lolol. I am truly grateful for the compassion and well-rounded people that they are. I am thank for their generous and helpful nature. Allowing me to re-adopt my forever baby under those circumstances really showed me that God doesn’t make mistakes. Thanks to Hidden Hills Sara and I both got a second chance. We now live in Colorado happily ever after.

I went on a two day vacation with my family and left my three dogs with Happy Hills, my 10 year old yellow lab, 7 year old boxer, and 13 year old chihuahua. I was worried about this stay to the point of not going on the weekend vacation because of always having my mother come into my home and take care of my pets. Unfortunately this time she was not available to do this for me. My lab is aggressive and my boxer is not okay with strangers at all. On my vacation I got a call saying my boxer had a bad case of stress diarrhea and that he was really freaked out. I asked the staff to please hold food and get him some probiotics and plain yogurt. They sent me pictures of him eating his yogurt and kept me updated on his stress levels. I did ask for them to medicate him for stress if it kept getting worse to keep him calm and happy. Happy Hills did a amazing job with my three boys even though the one had a melt down because he had to stay in a different environment for two days. They are all home and happy. Thank you Happy Hills and staff for all you do. We love you guys!

My daughter took her dog knowing that he might be nervous. We did work with the vet in concern he might need medication to help him feel less anxious. We kept in touch every other day with Happy Hills and they never once mentioned they had been giving him medication. We had no idea until the vet billed us. I also had told them he would be picked up as soon as they opened. When my daughter has arrived they had already given him two medications for the day. They also charged additional daily fee for giving him medication. Also his room was very soiled when my daughter arrived. We definitely wouldn’t recommend this facility !!!

took my mastiff to get boarded, they drugged him the whole week. i asked every day about how he was, they always said he was “fine” but never told us about the TWO drugs they were giving him. he barely ate a whole bowl out of the food i brought him… he has visibly lost weight and they charged me 55$ more than was priced when i came to pick him up. the room was full of pee and poop and i’m just not happy with my experience at all.Along with the businesses response. If someone checks on their dog, you should probably tell them you’re giving him medication instead of lazily answering “he’s fine” it took hours and hours for a response and sometimes even the next day which i understand, but i didn’t message you after 11pm, that’s when you decided to check your phone, that’s not on me. it’s not the fact that you have him medication, it’s the lack of unprofessional communication and you not telling me about it every time i checked on him. he weighs 160 lbs… he eats more than 4 cups a food a day. he needed to be fed multiple times as i told you. i brought the food in a gallon bucket because weekly, that’s how much he eats. i didn’t ask you to feed him out of it, and it wasn’t dirty either, it’s called stains… i was not even informed at the time of pick up he was on medication until i asked about the extra money i was charged with absolutely no reasoning which is again.. unprofessional. my dog is a rescue so yes, he isn’t fond of new people but he has been socialized and came a very long way as far as aggression. he was in no way a danger to your staff, he’s never bit anyone. nor attacked them… but im sure if you gave him as many medications as yall did, he was knocked out for most of his stay. and in response to him being in his own pee and poop, if you had time enough to give him medication right before i got there knowing i was coming to pick him up and that was not necessary. you had time to clean his kennel. so if you need to respond again to justify yourself, you can contact me personally, like a professional would. thank youalso included a picture of his full bucket of food i sent, that came back with maybe one bowl out of it.

We adopted our doggy Splitzer, we changed his name to Skipper, 2 weeks ago. This is a great place, you can tell the hearts of the workers are with the animals. They take such good care of them. Our Skipper has fit right into our home. 💙

I’ve recently received an email from Happy Hills Animal Foundation where I adopted my two beautiful and healthy kitties. They need help, facing issues caused by the COVID-19; I think of those kitties being sent back because of job loss for some people, I think of no volunteers available under stay at home order. If you want a cat, don’t buy one; adopt one, especially during this difficult time.I really really appreciate Happy Hills Animal Foundation family took good care of my two babies, and you could tell from their personalities (kitties) if they were being nicely treated before. The staffs knew their names and conditions well among a full house of cute animals. We lived far away from the HHAF but they made everything so easy for me, from adoption procedures to check-up.

I left my name and contact number for a kitten that someone dropped off at their door and I submitted an application for this kitten and I have called for weeks leaving multiple messages and no one calls me back nor does anyone ever answer the phone at this place. I will not be donating to this business any longer. You would think they would want good homes for their pets that were surrendered. The least they could do is return my call. Horrible customer service!Interesting: In response to you message, you didn't do your job in letting an applicant know this information. Rather than not answering your phone how about having some integrity and call an applicant back to let them know this rather than posting it online. My dog is up to date with her vaccines. It is my personal choice not to get my dog other vaccines due to allergic reaction in the past. Interesting how you can respond to a Google review but your too sorry to pick up the phone and call customers back and review the application with them. Just Horrible!

I applied for a dog I saw at PetSmart in Asheboro. I contacted them by email the next week filing out another adoption form. The shelter stated they needed paperwork showing rabies and neutered etc. sent paperwork. Was told would hear from them with in 3 days. Never heard from them. Called and left message and sent numerous emails with no response. I understand if they decided not to have me adopt but a reply stating this or if they needed more information would be nice. This is an organization that wants people to donate and volunteer and people who adopt to be professional when they do . I would expect the shelter to be the same way. Communication and common courtesy goes a long way.

Wonderful, caring animal lovers. I adopted my little dog, Raschal from them, also very clean and no smells. They are also very appreciative of donations not just money but, just to name a few things bleach, awesome cleaner which can be found at Dollar Tree, used or new blankets, used or new towels, dog and cat food. This is also a NO KILL rescue shelter and oh yes, also do grooming. Can you tell I LOVE this place and the people!!❤❤❤

HHAF will have been in business for 31 yrs. 01-13. We have been thru many good times & a few really hard times.Fortunately, we have had many supporters & donors that have helped us survive our efforts. We're sorry that 1 person, out of a few thousand, was not happy with our services. We are NC State licensed for boarding & animal rescue/adoptions. We also provide grooming services & merchandise sales. All of our proceeds fund our many programs for our animal welfare,spay/neuter programs, youth community service programs, school mentoring projects, adult community service programs & many more services we offer. We are licensed & inspected by the State of NC thru the veterinary/agriculture dept..Our inspections, tax records & much history is available on line. Much is accurate, some is not. Please do not judge us until you come visit!! We welcome everyone, anytime during business hrs.We do appreciate your consideration of setting an appointment, so we can make sure our animal care stays top priority. Our economy has been a challenge & anything we can do these days, to help us save money or raise money, is most helpful. We beleive in our programs & Thank God & our Supporters every day for our success.

Wonderful rescue facility. They also board & have grooming services. They have a selection of collars, leashes, & toys as well. Money from their services & items go DIRECTLY into the rescue to provide food & care for the rescued animals.
