My own vet turned me down for an emergency requiring surgery on my little Shinese. Dr. Stewart was obviously busy too, but worked through her lunch hour to get to my fur baby. Every thing went very well, the staff was oh so friendly and accommodating. Dr. Stewart called several times after the surgery for updates. I have a new vet for my gang now! Thank you to all at Stewart Mountain.

I took my Kitty there for her shots and vaccines. Kitty was very well behaved and responded well to Dr. Stewart and the tech. I also had an emergency and had to bring my 14 year old Yorki/Poo with me who had never been there before. She had a tick on her and I couldn’t tell if it was a tick or a wart. Dr. Stewart made time for both my animals even thru we didn’t leave until almost 6pm when they closed at 5. And, I feel like I was charged a very reasonable amount. I will definitely go back. It was very clean and all the people were very nice.

Absolutely amazing, wonderful, professional care provided by all of the staff at Stewart's We just boarded our dog there for 8 days and they took amazing care of her. She came home happy and well cared for plus their veterinarian recommended tests that were never encouraged by our previous veterinarian; she called me to personally discuss all health concerns and our options for treatment. The kennel staff brushed her throughout her stay; that was a HUGE PLUS and very much appreciated because she is an Old English Sheepdog and requires daily care to maintain. I HIGHLY recommend Stewart's, my pets are family and I appreciate that they are treated like family at Stewart's. THANK YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH.

I have been taking my "baby", a Yellow Nape Amazon Parrot, to Dr. Stewart all of her 23 years life. There are very few Avian Veterinarians anywhere, especially in the Western NC Mountains. My baby & I are in the mountains as well as in Florida part of each year. While Dr. Stewart is not an certified Avian Vet she has studied the field extensively & what she doesn't know she gets the advice of an Avian Vet for diagnosis.Dr. Stewart runs an amazing business with a super friendly, caring staff. I consider her not only a wonderfully caring, competent vet but a friend as well. She is truly amazing & the best vet I have ever used. I have used quite a few different Avian vets in FL & haven't found any I liked nearly so much. In fact, my parrot had really bad seizures with several of those vets just while getting her nails and wings clipped.Dr. Stewart is my "go-to" vet for my parrot hands down!!

Let me start off by saying that I have had every type of vet experience under the sun - most of which have been negative. After moving too far away from the one beloved vet my first pup and I called home for 5+ years, I have struggled to find one that I trust. Additionally, my husband and I just recently added a new puppy to our family. My in laws have been taking their pets to Stewart's for literally ever (25 + years) and recommended them to me when we moved back to Spruce Pine this past year. Between our 9 year old yorkie, Max, and new puppy, Mia, we have seen all of the doctors at Stewarts in less than 6 months and I can honestly say that I have never had more of a positive experience with a vet office before. The environment is super welcoming, the front office staff are so friendly, and the doctors/assistants are so patient, kind, and informative (I ask a LOT of questions and call to leave messages in the middle of the night like a crazy person) and every single time they have called me first thing the next morning , not once making me feel like a burden. As a pet parent, there is nothing more you want than a vet who truly takes the time to properly treat, care, and most importantly love your fur child(ren), and the staff at Stewart's does just that. I am so happy to have this vet close to home.

Dr. Stewart, Dr. Byrnes, and their staff have always treated my dog very well. Not only do they offer the full range of treatment for dogs and cats; but they also provide boarding services, and they will treat other species of animals as well. Her prices are also reasonable.

Update** Stewart's once again saved the day! Even though they were understaffed and booked solid they made time to see my baby Bella when she was very sick. They did blood work and the vet herself called to let me know the results. They go above and beyond to make not only your animal fell loved and cared for but their owners too!Stewart's staff were amazing during the hard process of saying goodbye to our furbaby. Their team was so compassionate and went above and beyond to make such a hard day a little more bearable! We got a beautiful urn with Rufus's ashes from the crematory they work with and then we got a surprise in the mail of a ceramic paw print with his name. They are wonderful!

The staff are kind and capable. The services we have received have always been fantastic.That said, this is a great vets office if you have all the time in the world. We have never been seen without waiting a minimum of 30 minutes. It was over an hour on more than one occasion. I certainly understand that things happen, but it would be nice if they had the courtesy to call and let you know your appointment had to be pushed back.

I called several animal clinics in the area this morning, looking for someone with an opening to see my cat that developed an abscess. I am new to the area and had not established patient care yet. Though they did not have any appointments, the clinic was able to fit my cat in. The veterinarian herself, called me to discuss the treatment plan that she was wanting to provide. She worked with me to go through the items and explain why each was important and we were able to to come to a treatment plan that we both felt comfortable with. I appreciate them fitting us in, especially not being an established patient!

This place is amazing! We have a 4 year old dog and she is rarely around strangers but the friendly staff made our first vet visit comfortable and professional. Every step of the process was easy for our pet and for us as owners, even during covid protocols. They truely care about the animals and the service they provide. ITS ALSO AFFORDABLE! They performed a initial exam and layed out every option for best treatment with the monetary cost. I will definitely be back and will not look for any other doctor for our pets.
