Really cool building, barn wood wall, open sight of brewing area. Food we had was good. Liked the ginger beer. Such a neat little town. Food tasted good but was not as described in the menu. Not what I call ground mustard, straight up French's yellow and not brioche buns on the sandwiches, plain hamburger buns. Out of the 11 taps, they were out of 4 or so including one of their own. I would go back if in the area.

Waited an hour for food( empty restaurant). When it was ready it came out one by one, we ordered onion rings, two salads, and two pizzas, never received a Caesar side salad, one pizza. Canceled the order. Server never came back to refill drinks( she was new) Food sucked. The only positive was the owner was cooking food(he was the only one in the kitchen) and took care of the bill, except for drinks. Food was horrible (especially onion rings, my toddler did drink the ranch though ) would never go back! Owner would not come out and talk to our table. Sent the new bartender out to mediate. No thank you.

Great new brewery in NC mountains. Tasty craft beers, some with European influences, excellent food menu too! I had wings and burger, both cooked perfect with quality ingredients. Very reasonable pricing. Good size taproom, music on weekends. Next time I’m in the area, will definitely be back. Oh, and friendly staff too!

A really nice addition to downtown Spruce Pine. This brewery and restaurant gets a lot of things right with only a few misteps. The customer service and wait staff are amazing and even when understaffed they deliver. They have decent 🍻 beers (I like the Belgian dubbel, the pilsner, and the double IPA). The also have decent food. I recommend sticking with sandwiches and appetizers. I liked the 🍔 burgers and 🐔 chicken sandwich along with the soft 🥨 pretzels. They also have ♿ handicap accessible parking, seating, and 🚻 restrooms.

we ate lunch there today, food was great, svc was great, bavarian/german color scheme is great, we’ll definitely be back with friends next time. one recommendation: on a sunny day, from outside, the glass walls make the place look closed down; if not for the glowing “open” sign it wouldn’t look like the big inviting place that it is inside…maybe a more prominent open sign or set of “we’re open now” signs? i truly wish this place success! 😎

The food was VERY good. I would recommend adding a potato feature to the sausage dish. Just too much sauerkraut. Their pretzels are banging!!The beers...much to be desired. I had a flight and got the Pilsner, Marzen, DIPA, and Stout. The Pilsner and Marzen had the same buttery off flavor. The DIPA and stout were "Ok", but their Guest beer Kölsch was actually my favorite. I did taste their Hefe beer too. It was decent, still not my favorite.

The pizza is amazing here and they have some great beers. We really enjoyed the IPAs and the passion beer. The live music was fun also. Oh and they have shuffleboard!

While camping and hiking near by we decided to take a break and look for local beer. We came across bierdock and thought the reviews seemed ok and worth a try. However we ordered a flight to try their beers and only found one out of the four we liked which was the dubbel. My friend had the same beer and shared the same thoughts. The Pilsner didn’t taste like any Pilsner I had but resembled oyster water in flavor. When asked the staff would not replace the beer with something else. It took roughly 15 mins to get our flights in a empty bar. Food took about the same maybe a little longer. I ordered wings and loaded fries. The fries were decent but wings were over cooked and had more sauce on the plate then the wings did. My friend had the pizza which was ok burnt crust and pipping hot. But was your average run of the mill pizza nothing special. Overall the seemingly timid staff would be way over their head if this place was busy. Definitely would give other places a shot if this isn’t your only option.

Good beer, bad food. Had high expectations for the Bierdock Special Burger, with an Angus & Short Rib patty for $14.50. However, I believe now it was a mere gimmick. The burger tasted like a regular ol' burger, frozen patty and all (the patties are too perfectly round, indicating they're not made in house). Small amount of food for nearly $15.Next time I'll go for just the beer. That was pretty good.

Great place to hang out, have a beer, get some food & chat with folks. They have live music on some nights. The atmosphere is nice & spacious. The wait staff are amazing, efficient & friendly even when every seat is filled. The prices are reasonable & the beer is tasty (I loved the blueberry!) Location in this cute town is convenient, as is parking. Check it out if you're near by.

Yikes. Frozen food doesn’t always equate poor quality but my god, those onion rings were disgusting. To my left, someone was eating chicken tenders that looked equally dismal. Sauce was advertised with the onion rings but I had to ask for it and the waitress visibly rolled her eyes. I stuck with ketchup because the ranch appeared to be just sitting out, unrefridgerated, and it was clearly from the local grocery store. Finally, the beer: hard to review beer that was doomed from the start. Not sure if the keg pressure was off or if the lines aren’t refrigerated properly, but it was so foamy she poured at least 5 glasses and combined them to produce my lukewarm beer. If breweries were new and novel business ventures I might not be so horrified- but you are literally within 30 miles of some of the best breweries around. Please find a mentor or at the very least, pull up old episodes of bar rescue and take notes.

Great selection with ~16 beers on tap. About half are brewed in house and half are a rotating selection from other local craft brewers. Awesome idea! The beers ranged from tasty to delicious (Coconut Macaroon stout!!!!!).They have a food menu, but we didn't explore it. Plenty of seating in this large space, tables, booths, and bar.

First, the service was really good, our server/bartender was super sweet. But the beer was meh. We had the hazy IPA (which wasn’t an IPA) and the kolsch, which was marginally decent. The food was awful, and expensive. $8 for Burger King onion rings, the kids chicken tenders were 3x more bread than chicken. It’s a lot of cheap frozen food that’s marked up to fancy restaurant prices. We won’t be back.

The service was horrible, took forever to get out drinks, never got a refil, when the food finally came out.. highly disappointed nothing about it was good. For such a small menu food should be good. Placed a to go order when we got our food, ate, the. waited 15 minutes before anyone came to the table finally got our check then waited 30 more minutes before our To go order was ready. They have some interesting beers.. but I wouldn’t go for the food.

Not many options for a dog friendly lunch in Spruce Pine that we saw, but it didn't matter because we were very pleasantly surprised here! Decent beers, great guest taps, the food was delish (we had the ham n cheese and wings), and the staff was great! Support this small business! :)

Friendly staff, especially the Big Guy. I don’t drink beer but my friend said his saison was very good. Recommend the beercheese sauce with the pretzels. Yum.

First and foremost, I’m a server/manager at a restaurant, so I understand being out of some things or wait times, because it’s busy. However, my last visit, we were the only table. Got our appetizer pretty quickly (obviously they just stuck the pretzels in the microwave for a couple mins and brought out) 3/4 things we wanted, they didn’t have. Including the beer they had as a special. Once our beer and food were brought out, we were swarmed with gnats. I get owning a brewery, you may have that issue. But me swatting the entire time I was trying to eat my food, kind of got annoying. My son actually lost his appetite, because so many kept landing on his food or plate. (Maybe try to put a barrier up from the brewery/dining area). Mostly though, the service was not the best. I can understand on a busy day/night, but we were the ONLY table from sit down, until leaving. And only one carry out order the hour and half we were there. I don’t usually rant about restaurants because again, server/manager, I get it. But I just wanted to bring some of these issues to light for future business.
