Normally, it's a very nice place to shop and most of the associates are friendly. I usually go on Thursdays, but last week I went on Fri, Aug 30, 2019. I checked out about 8pm. My cashier, Alexia was not friendly and was more on the side of rude. I can understand being tired and it being a busy day, but instead of engaging with me, she just complained to her coworkers. One professional associate walked by and told the group to smile, but it didn't make a difference. Alexia showed her annoyance in the fact that I wanted my items bagged a certain way, although I put them on the counter as I want them bagged. She did not say thank you, even after I said, "you're welcome"! Bottom line, Alexia did not care!!! I was disappointed that I didn't get a response from her coworkers that had to know that I wasn't happy. Changed my whole outlook about this location! As of May 2022, my last visits have been more pleasant. The cashiers are friendlier and more respectful. Hopefully, things will continue to be this way.

They overcharge for everything. When u are checking out, make sure to always watch when they scan the price as it is usually more than what it is on the shelf. We have discussed this with management on a few occasions and were brushed off even though we showed her proof they had the prices wrong

I usually shop at the Bunn Food Lion, but was in Spring Hope so I decided to check out their Food Lion. Very glad that I did. What a difference. The produce department is very open, no obstacle course to navigate. The store was spotless. Lots of lighting, super wide aisles, friendly employees. It's been a long while since I felt appreciated as a Food lion customer. I felt it there. After a year of avoiding the deli dept because of too many negative experiences (in Bunn) I was treated to a completely different experience in Spring Hope. Thanks. My new grocery store. They earned it.

I love the Food Lion in Spring Hope. It is close to where I live and it is always stocked with items that I need. Cashiers are friendly and they open up an extra cash register to get customers through the lines faster. I always like shopping here.

It's always one cashier that finds anything else to do except run the register. She will see a line and runs to the customer service desk and stand but she isn't working customer service. One little girl is always on her register and I always compliment her.

The kids always have a blast. You can tell parts of the center are understaffed (snack bar etc), but the friendliness of the staff present allows them to retain the 5 star rating.Staff up and maybe invest some in upgrades. Other than that, still a fun time for kids.

Staff is ok, but selection and pricing are a joke compared to other food lions and competitors within a 15 mile radius. If I can ill drive extra 15mins to do weekly shopping. Only good if you're in a rush or a pinch. Use to be better but gone down hill. Store is clean though poorly stocked and high priced. No fault of staff I assume just poor corporate leadership choices..

I had a wonderful experience at this store yesterday. I have lupus and RA so sometimes I begin to feel bad without warning. That happened today. When I began to shake uncontrollably, the staff stepped in and helped me finish my transaction, load my groceries, and make sure I was okay. Thank you for hiring such caring people!

Everything cost more here then at Walmart, maybe because its the only grocery store in the immediate area?!?! Ground beef is always at least $1.50 more per a pound and chicken always at least $1.00 more a pound. Very clean store. But small selection of fresh veggies, almost every food lion is like this though.

Hot. The temp. Inside a lot of these big chain stores is ridiculous. It's already sweltering outside. Then you come inside to relax and enjoy your shopping experience. But you can't. Why? It's to hot inside!!! The staff are told to say that its controlled by corporate, but I've been informed by several employees that isn't the case. They've seen store managers turn up and down the temperatures to their personal comfort settings. My point is. You shouldn't have to go into anywhere you shop and sweat while doing so.

My only issue with any of the Food Lions around the area is in my experience they seemed to run out of the sale items pretty quickly maybe they just don't have enough or they just simply are not stocking enough before the sale.

This foodlion in spring hope is the worst one I have ever been to. The selection is always terrible. Just yesterday 4 out of the 5 items I came in for were out of stock. And don't even think about asking one certain male manager for assistance, he will just stare at you like he can't believe you are bothering him then if he does answer you it's always with an ugly tone. I am seriously considering driving the extra distance to shop at a different store.

I'm always able to go in, grab the items I need, get checked out and on my way back home quickly. I have a FL in the city I live actually 6 minutes from my house but still travel 12 minutes more to go to this location.

Typical Food Lion. Small selection of grocery basics. Closes at 10 pm & it's the only grocery store in town. It would be nice if the hours were later. They quit selling my coffee flavor so that's an inconvenience! I have to leave Spring Hope to buy coffee that EVERY other grocery store carries! And if you need something rare or unique don't bother stopping here, nothing here but your basics. Variety & options are limited.

Great place to get food and drink.. always great staff such as McKenzie who puts a smile on me and my bf faces when we come through her line. She also likes to go through her line. Thanks to the whole staff.

Every time I go into food lion when this one certain worker is working she follows me or either goes to the end of my register. I caught her on 11/7/2020 recording my transaction while I paid with a credit card. I know NC is a one party state but I don't think that she is suppose to be recording my credit card transaction. I don't know if she was off duty or not but she followed me to my vehicle and she was still continuing to record me along with my vehicle tag number. This isn't the first time she has followed me this has been going on with her since last year. But I got proof now that she is recording transactions where people are paying with debit or credit cards. So people BEWARE of this situation in SPRING HOPE NC AT FOOD LION. I didn't start recording on my phone until I saw her at the end of the register recording me.

The neighborhood grocery store. This is where I mainly shop because it's the closest. The prices aren't always the cheapest but it's convenient. Food Lion always has very friendly customer service. They always bag my groceries and usually place them in my cart. And if there's somebody available to do it, they help me out to my car when I need it.

This store has an amazing employee her name is Brenda Howell. She has been volunteering in the community for years helping those less fortunate.During the Covid19 pandemic she has gone to countless homes on a weekly basis checking on people and making sure they have everything they need. She’s gone so far as to have yard sales to raise money to help folks. Brenda is humble and asks nothing in return for what she does. We need more people like Brenda in the world.

This Food Lion is my least favorite of the 3 closest to my home. I usually shop in Bunn. The cashier's here are typically teenagers that are busy socializing. I don't like the store layout, it's not similar enough to the others to make it easy to find things. There are certain things I buy at Wal-Mart only because the savings are so great. With the MVP savings the prices are usually pretty good.

Today was a good day for shopping it seems like one of their trucks for grocery had come in. The bread section was a little empty no Food Lion brand but a couple. The produce section was about wiped out all fresh berries front displays. The cashier was extremely courteous to me and other customers. I'm a previous worker of Food Lion when Tom Smith was CEO. Really loved how are market was and deli. I was training for store manager and the things then we're more customer friendly even in the huge markets. As I've noticed that there are a lot of workers are gone back to working off the clock to make effective scheduling. There should be meat cutters for fresh meat and that's including bring the ban saw and tenderizer "cuber" back to Freshly cut meats are still being one of the main needs of the customers. Customers are going to Piggly Wiggly to get fresh cut meats. Just a thought Food Lion should consider some of their versions to fresh meats instead of all pre packaged products. I feel that you'll still be able to make a great gross profect along with an effective scheduling. Instead of losing customers to another competitor for fresh cut meats then please consider making some changes.

Not my favorite supermarket, but the only one in my town. They are overpriced, and sneaky. Ex: A packet of 5 garlic texas toast slices is $2.99 and the label says "Mvp price $1.50" then a sign above that says Buy one get one free. So, I'm thinking I'll pay $1.50 with my MVP card and get a second one free. Nope! You just get both at half of the regular price. So it's like getting one free...but not really cuz you're still paying half price each. And their meat section is sneaky too. I got some meat there once, it looked beautiful from what I could see. When I unpackaged it, the bottom was brown and disgusting. I swore to never buy meat from them again.
