The man in charge has always given us solid well informed advice on products and my pets. The staff treat the animals under their care better than those big chain pet stores and the prices are always fair. I'd definitely recommend this over most stores for pet needs or a new addition to your family.

I just acquired a Bearded Dragon the first of Dec 23. I had no knowledge of taking care of him and what he needed. I came here to get help and information regarding my new pet and I was overly impressed and grateful for the kindness and help. Every time I come in they are extremely nice and if they are busy they still stop to let you know they will be with you soon, know matter how busy they are. I was short a lamp for Canyon and they were wonderful enough to lend me one until I could afford to buy one.Thank you to all the employees you are appreciated

My sweet little Maltese boy had a very bad experience with a local groomer. He came home traumatized! Since I started taking J.Dudley to Rutherford Pet Supply for grooming, he seems so much less anxious. I also love that (I know it helps him too) they don’t keep him all day long. I take him at his appointed time and it’s not long before it’s time to pick him up. And he always looks and smells FABULOUS!The groomers are also very nice to work with. They listen to my concerns at drop off and are informative about what they think his needs are for his session that day. They really do seem to love their furry clientele!

Staff is very helpful and the selections are well shown. Pricing is economical and Id go here than go to wally world/walmart for my pet needs. Also those 2 puppies needs a good home. They do rescue. Call the store for information

Rutherford Pet Supply, regardless of time or name, even under reconstruction, has been a pleasure to shop. Dog needs and pond supplies abound and the people are great. Chris, especially, has been most helpful in selecting product, visiting to determine solutions or just plain sensible recommendations. Employees like Chris are the reason I shop there.

These guys are amazing! They are so kind, helpful and knowledgeable! They have a product line as good if not better than big box stores with the added benefit of excellent customer service!! I have a toy breed Maltese who has many food sensitivities and is a bit picky to boot. The food he had been eating was hard to find and I was tired of having to order it online. David discovered that the food was really not that healthy. We weren’t attached to that brand— it was out of desperation as it was the only chicken free one we had found that our little guy would eat. David didn’t try to convince me to buy something else but when I asked for a recommendation he simply gave me nutrition run down and small bag tot try for free. Zephyr (pup) thought it was amazing at the first bite! We’re now doing all our pet business with them! I love supporting local small businesses! Hands down Rutherford Pets is the best small/not big box pet store I’ve ever done business with. 🐶❤️

It’s an Alright pet store for what’s around here. Wide selection but most of the animals are in small cages. Be careful about buying any kind of wood hut, have bought 3 in the past 2 months and every single one has grown mold.

I’m not the one to leave reviews but the older lady that was working today 7/22 was rude. I mean we called the store before going and the answering said customers could go in if they wanted to. So we did me a friend of mine and her 5 year old. Well the older woman then starts to complain about the 5 year old child saying she needed to stay with us when the child was 3 feet away trying to pet a cat. Next time I will go to Morganton as I have been going for crickets and meal worms. There was no need in being so rude to us.

Employees are very helpful I rescued a ball python about 4 months ago the sell everything I've needed for her and and answer all my question politely unlike corporate pet stores such as Petco or petsmart my python was underwieght they gave me feeding advice and she has bulked up the also recommended a bedding style change which is a 50/50 mix of eco-earth and Aspen bedding and also recommended sphagnum moss for humidity everything I have done that they have recommended has worked I would recommend them for anyone who has reptiles and needs supplies and people who want a reptile or amphibian as a pet

My husband has been coming here for years however I just moved here not too long ago and I am the reviewer lol. We purchased a pink toe from them that’s doing amazing. We now will be getting all our feeders for our pall pythons here. We did get our daughter a beta fish for her birthday in October from here which I just found it tonight dead. The tank was cleaned regularly and the fish wasn’t over fed so that’s kinda upsetting. Now I have to find a blue beta fish by Friday without spending a crazy amount on it.

The owner was very friendly and helpful and gave me some excellent recommendations not only for my puppy, but for the area since he noticed I was new. He gave me an idea for a way to save money by getting free food from this store instead of using Chewy and also to mix white rice in with new food when changing brands for my puppy.
