Whenever I visit this location, I know I'm going to get the full post-apocalyptic vibe. So why the 5 stars? Because I go into it knowing what to expect.The store is always messy, the shelves are empty, and the food is expired. The employees are nowhere to be found.At this visit, I was getting a small ice cream treat for my son, and that alone was quite the experience. It seemed at one point the freezer may have stopped working, and all of the ice cream melted. Then, when it started working again, everything froze back together in a solid congealed mass. I was eventually able to find a newer bar of ice cream that wasn't covered in sticky goo. The door of the freezer stuck to my leg, and I could feel the stickiness as I pried it off. I still have a sticky spot on my jeans from the door 😂.I am usually able to find what I need, and get out quickly. I've never had any issues with the employees being unfriendly (the few times I've seen them lol). This is really all that matters to me.

Today is the anniversary of my miscarriage. I walked in, only for balloons, to send up a letter for my baby! When I got in there they had the usual party, get well soon, just everyday balloons, so I ask the cashier (Haley) if they had any balloons she could blow up because none of those matched the occasion, she asked the occasion, and was so sympathetic about it! She was phenomenal, helped me pick out this beautiful rainbow balloon! I will forever cherish her kindness and being so nice to me, as today is a hard day for any mother who has ever lost a baby! Thank you so much Haley! You are the reason I’m able to hold it together today! I’m so glad to know that there are people in there for the people, and not just the check! Also have to shout out all the others at this store, as they are all like family, Adrianna is the sweetest person I’ve ever met, and I just love to go in and talk to her! Kayla is the absolute funniest person I’ve ever met! She cracks me up and cheers me up every time I see her! I don’t really know Mary well, but she is always nice, it’s usually helping me with the uscan because it is a pain lol but they are the best team I’ve ever seen! Big shout out to you all! I can’t wait to see you all own and run your own stores! Y’all are going places! 💜💗

This store doesnt need a 1 star. The experience was terrible. I saw this elderly lady standing at the register for 5 mins to pay for her items and the little prissy cashier was to busy playing on her phone. The elderly lady ranged the bell and the cashier still didnt come. I used the self check out and on my way out and the lady stopped me to asked have i seen the cashier, right before i could answer the prissy cashier stomped her way up and rudely said " im here". I never seen so much disrespect. That was inappropriate behavior. Its burned me up that i had to say something.This store would be better is the workers is kinder and stop paying attention to there phones.

Love this store. So much better priced than Ingles. Yeah they dont have a large selection, but you can save money on certain items. Only peeve, it's usually a ghost town in there. You have to track an employee down. I worry they may get robbed because of the lack of visibility of employees. Either way, great people and friendly attitudes.

I was annoyed in Dollar General. It was cluttered worse than any store I've been in.It looked like somebody took a broom and knocked over everything on the shelves. There was an aisle that both sides were discounted Christmas items. I was told all of it was 75 percent off. There was two bed pillows and candles with no price. At checkout clerk was annoyed that I asked their price. I said I didn't want pillows but got 5 packs of candles and lots of decorations and 2 gift sets of nail polish and bath stuff. The gift sets rang up full price I saw on receipt. I told her I didn't want them. She had to get another lady to help take off bill. If price had been on items I wouldn't have to ask price of each thing. And why was regular priced items in with discounted stuff. And half of them didn't have a price on them. I want be back in there for a long while. It was the one at the bridge on Oakland Rd..Hey Google post hey Google post this draft

Love the remodel! This specific DG deserved it's upgrade more than any other DG's in my area, been in and out of this one for majority of my life and newer stores have been remodeled 2 or 3 different times and this one has always been overlooked or something, I never understood it, but it's all good now and I'm happy for the ones that run that location, been a long time coming I'm sure. Now, if there is anyone at all affiliated with the management of the Dollar General corporation reading this, please for the love of all that's right in the retail world do something ANYTHING! With the dollar general store on Oakland Rd/ bethany church rd/ 221 location Please please please, it's a complete disaster all the time, every day all day and it's so disappointing and the one most convenient for myself and a whole lot of others and it's just so frustrating to have the convenience of the dollar general so close to home but it's always out of everything so on to the next closest store and lowing behold it's so clean and organized and supplied with stock,

This particular DG is never fully stocked. Always out of something that I have gone in to pick up. There is only one employee there that has a very bad attitude toward customers and had I of remembered to get her name the last time I was in there, I would have reported her. There is no excuse to be rude to your customers. If you don't like your job, you need to find one that you do like.

I took my 94 year old mother there and she got towels , flowers, oatmeal,juice and she had fun pushing a cart and talking to people. Whatever the staff are making they deserve a raise. Lol

Dollar general was an absolute mess but it always is. I almost fell over several boxes trying to get down the isles. They need to hire some people to keep it organized and clean. It's understandable to be messy sometimes but its always a mess.

I love shopping at DG but this location is the one that is always in a mess, never stocked, and boxes and boxes of things stacked in the floor. Usually only 1 cashier and you always have to wait in long lines.

General Dollar should I say Dollar general I said it wrong but I go there a lot I can save a lot on my prescription up prescriptions on like potassium magnesium aspirin about anything that I need in my home the stores are clean the people are very very helpful they always take Tom if you need help to find something to help you you can save a lot of money there love that place

Had my receipt and manager said he could only give me a refund for the prices that it was now had only been 10 days and never opened. Under the 30 day policy and also had my receipt. Sad that dollar general doesn't care about there customers and no way to talk to upper management. So sad!

This store in Oakland North Carolina is very very small and very very cramped and I found the last three times I've been in there the associates are not friendly at all actually quite rude. I doubt we will be visiting this Dollar general again.

I visit Dollar Generals all over the county. This one has to most unappealing storefront, the building is not big enough, and doesn't look clean inside or outside.
