This is an excellent local outfit with a diverse menu. Excellent quality for the cost, with a great atmosphere and prompt service. This is a very casual dining experience that can be loud during peak service, but never to the point of needing to shout.This restaurant is popular, so it responds aggressively to peak dinner hours. I often drive by for errands, when I do the parking lot is usually around 1/3 full during breakfast and lunch times.Parking: A small parking lot, 3500 pickups will struggle to fit. No tractor-trailers.Kid-friendliness: This restaurant is a popular stop for families due to the low cost. Staff are very accommodating to children.Wheelchair accessibility: This is an older building that lacks wheelchair power doors. The doors are at ground level, so no ramps are needed, but the door could be difficult to navigate alone.

This was exactly the diner we were looking for on our visit to NC from the UK last year. This is a true local eatery with authentic home cooked food. Our accents attracted attention, which was fine because everyone was so friendly, servers and other diners. It felt as if we were all friends. We had our lunch here and it was a great lunch. Big helpings and so flavoursome.For honest Southern hospitality Hendrix BBQ is a must!Parking: Plenty of free parking

This is one of our favorite spots to eat. Our kids always beg to come here and get a cheeseburger. Not only are their cheeseburgers delicious but you can get 3 free kids meals per 1 adult meal. This really makes things affordable for larger families. *side note: not the best photo of the cheeseburger because my daughter already started to dig in*My husband ordered the bbq chicken, red slaw, and pintos. I ordered the chopped pork bbq, red slaw, and pintos. Everything was delicious and we came on a very busy day. Even though they were very busy, service and food quality was still great.Kid-friendliness: They offer free kids meals any time or day of the week! This is great for parents of multiples.

We LOVE Hendrix Barbecue in Spencer!! We do not eat at any other locations!! They are the ultimate Family restaurant. The food is good, service is great, and Kids eat FREE which is phenomenal!!! This place has fed our hungry family on many occasions when we were starving and struggling financially.. Thank you Hendrix ❤️Kid-friendliness: 3 free kids per paying adult. This place is great!! I've driven by a dozen times and it's always crowded, so I decided to stop and have lunch. The food, service, prices and atmosphere were awesome. Had the BBQ plate, with sweet tea, definitely recommend you give it a try.....

I ordered the barbecue tray. They call it barbecue with one side. Service was almost immediate - Less than five minutes. Barbecue was delicious as was the red slaw. Hush puppies were great. Will definitely return.Parking: It was easy to find a parking spot.Wheelchair accessibility: It's on the first floor. Door is wheelchair accessible.

I ordered the big breakfast (sumn)🤔 lol. It came with two sides, two meats, a choice of toast or pancakes. I had toast! The food was tasty. My eggs were browned, only downside, because I asked for scramble. Well done (I guess🤷🏾‍♀️). And I say enough to feed me, and two-three toddlers depends on how much one eats! I paid about 11-12 bucks for my plate I as well ordered an orange juice, which in total cost me $15.00 for a meal and refreshment drink. Have some good crushed ice! Haha, I recommend, although I'd like to try some of their BBQ and beans one day, maybe next time, if I'm ever delivering or picking up in that area from the paper mill. Was a nice parking lot, Bobtailed, so if you're a trucker, don't bring the trailer only Bobtail! Great way to spend time with trainees while being loaded for hours! Oan, they apply automatic gratuity if using a card payment!Kid-friendliness: Nice and clean and welcoming atmosphere!!! The decorations and paintings should have a kid entertained!

Came here last year on our trip to NC, and made sure to stop again. Same friendly people and same delicious food. Super affordable! Four of us ate for $39. That was two bbq sandwiches with fries, two hot dogs, a kids corn dog basket, and a cheeseburger with curly fries. And drinks! I do remember the hotdog being better last year, but would get it again. The barbecue sandwich was really good, again. They serve cheerwine soda, and we just discovered it’s the best soda ever.

Very cute bar-b-q place. Kids that dine in eat free which is a really good deal. We got the sweetest server & we felt very welcomed. Bathrooms were very clean. Food was delicious at a great price. Service was quick. I will def come back when I’m town & recommend anyone that’s driving through to stop and eat here! Wish we had this place in Charlotte!

It's a great local restraunt that serves Lexington style barbecue in a cozy retro atmosphere. The service is always friendly. Also the food is made fresh to order, and despite that always come out in a quick timely manner. I highly recommend the BBQ chicken. They also serve traditional breakfast and American diner Faire. Great place to take the kids due to the warm family friendly setting. Prices are a little steep but honestly that's most places in today's economy.Parking: A generous number of parking spots usually able to find a spot even during prime business meal hours.Kid-friendliness: Crayons offered to the kids to keep them entertained as well as a few coin operated "rides" and plenty of options to eat for those picky eaters.Wheelchair accessibility: Definitely handicap accessible I myself use a walker and was able to maneuvre just fine my last visit.

Great Lexington bbq. Great flavor and large portions...their pancakes are huge if you eat one you were hungry.Got lunch today, staff friendly and my drink never ran out even though the place was packed. It's my stop every time O head thru Spencer.

I normally love Hendrix, but today was unfortunate. I ordered my food and sat there for 22 minutes while 12 cars behind me all got their food. No one bothering to ask why I’m still sitting there. Then I asked the young lady, “excuse me, ma’am may ask where my food is?” She went and checked and came back and said it was ready. They just didn’t have a name on it. It’s still warm though. No apology or anything like that. So I think it was kind of rude. Thus the reason for the one star.

Great BBQ and Amazing Annie was our waitress. First time here, everything was great. This is Great Carolina BBQ!! They make the best hush puppies ever. The buffalo chips are delicious and they make there own ranch and honey mustard sauces. Great wings too. I highly recommend eating here. Ask for Annie she is a Terrific waitress. Thank you for taking care of our family.

My family and I stopped by early this morning for some breakfast. I have always grown up coming to Hendrix and it has become a staple of the town.Service is always served with a smile, and you can not beat the prices for the amount of food you receive.This morning I got 2 eggs, grits, and bacon. It was perfect for a early morning breakfast and we were in and out in 40min.I have attached photos of the menu front and back!

Friendly staff, good food. Bbq was good hamburger steak was good. My order got messed up and didn't get to try the slaw. Hush puppies were good. Green beans had a taste that I know but couldn't figure out, beef broth maybe? Price was reasonable, portion sizes were good. We discovered that had fish specials after we ordered. Wish we had know before our order. I would go back to try other options if I the area.

What a glorious Sunday brunch!! We arrived at noon and to our delight both breakfast and lunch were available!!! So we were fortunate enough to be able to indulge in a delicious meal of:Country ham and scrambled eggs on a biscuitSausage, eggs, and cheese, on a biscuit,Grits,Hushpuppies,Pancakes,Chopped bbq sandwich,and a Footlong all the way!!All were perfect!! Highly recommended. Especially Sundays around noon!!

Lost on one star because the place is very inexpensive the food is decent, however the location has abysmal reception for cell data and they don’t share wifi. So essentially it’s a dead zone if you ever want to do work or watch videos.Verizon and AT&T both had bad reception for us.
