This place is obviously disgusting but I draw the line at food poisoning. I've never experienced this in 37 years and its the worst thing I've ever felt. I know I got it from a pre-packaged sub here (yeah I know). I've been down days throwing up and not feeling sick, but feeling poisoned. Go in this place and look around, are you surprised? Good thing I've got a good lawyer. Food Lion gonna make me rich if not dead first.

Can't get anyone to answer the phone in any department. Dec16 12:42 am. Very rarely have PAPER bags, I had a cashier tell me that she didn't know how to use them. Someone is always illegally parked in the fire lane.

I shopped at the Food Lion in Spencer today for the first time in months. Earlier this year, my husband and I decided not to shop there because of the unruly and potentially dangerous atmosphere. Today was completely different. I’d like to thank Food Lion for making an obvious and positive change in this store. Produce is always great there!

***Update-Still pleased with the service we receive from Food Lion and Doordash. Much easier to shop when life is so busy.Super happy they now deliver groceries to Linwood. Best way to shop anymore with COVID.

Food Lion Corp... you should pay me to rate your stores and advise on how to make better. It’s obvious so I’m thinking you don’t care as long as dollars rolling in!

I go to 2 different Foid Lions. Both stores are neat and clean and very well stocked. Employees are very nice at both stores, but the store in Spencer, NC doesn't have self check out and you normally have to wait in line for longer than I normally have time for. That is the only reason I gave a 4 instead of a 5 because of the wait time to check out.

Nice store very clean , they just need to improve their customer service , most of the cashiers do not greet the customers there are a few of them that don't say a word to me when I check out not even to tell me what my total is , produce is ok some bad product on the shelves and I always find out of date product on the grocery shelves .

It's been a long time some since I shopped at this specific Food Lion. The store was clean, food selection was great and the service was excellent. Wish I would have remembered the cashier's name who helped me. She worked in 12 items or less register and provided exceptional customer service. Thank you!

A hand full of the employees are great but this store never checks dates on their food. Every visit I find expired food, this has been going on for years. Im done with them at this point. Sad customers have to check to make sure the food is fresh. Even though they pride in selling "quality fresh" food.

Might be a good idea to mention to the cashiers you don't put fruit and vegetables in with raw meat. Or anything in with raw meat. 🤦‍♀️Months later and they still bag raw meat with other goods. Cans with chips and fruit. Cheese in with cans. We even organize our food into easily bagging categories on the conveyor belt.The people are very nice - the bagging is horrible.

I stopped here to purchase a few things. This store is laid out nicely. It was easy to find the items on my list. The prices are not too high. A good mix of sale items were available. The staff was friendly and the check out lane moved quickly. I would certainly stop here again.

Spencer store has the most caring efficient employees. When I need help loading groceries to my car and putting them inside, they always are there to help with a smile. I always shop the Spencer Food Lion, even if I have to drive out of my way.

Everyone is extremely nice that work there except for one cashier that's not there very nice at all! She's not there very often but when she is I steer clear of her, very rude and treats everyone like they are beneath her. I think her name is McKenzie.

Employees are always friendly, on more than one occasion I've seen a employee run into the parking lot with a grocery bag a customer paid for and left to return it to them.The employees will take you to the item you are looking for instead of pointing to the aisle it's on! 😁

Im removing one star because of the wait for information when you call into the store. My pregnancy is high risk so I can only do minimal walking. I called into the store to make sure they had the product in stock that I needed since they did not have it when I visited the store earlier this week. I was told by a lady that she would go check and then she said she would transfer me to the deli. I waited for quite some time and the phone began ringing again non stop with no answer. This wouldn't be a issue for me if I didn't know that the phone or main office and the deli where the item is located is almost directly beside each other. Called around 7:35 p.m. on 4/26/17

They get five stars because of the gluten free and vegan options they have at this location. They lose two stars for the large amounts of bad meat they have on their shelves at any given point and the numerous expired items you can find on their shelves any day of the week.
