Love the menu - great choices from Mediterranean dishes to sandwiches from fresh ingredients and artisan breads. Delicious food. Pleased to see they serve Chad's Chai tea! The s'mores is SO good! Coming back for music. Highly recommend!!Vegetarian options: Loved the Greek Salad with Falafel!

This is our second time here, no disappointment. From salads to burgers or anything you try is very delicious. Reuben sandwich was very, very good; it had the perfect balance with sauerkraut, chicken salad Croissant sandwich was good, typical not the best, just to expect. Falafels were great and fresh. Pet friendly and great customer service.

Our waitress was awesome! She was very nice and did an amazing job. The food was really good and our steak was cooked to perfection, it literally melted in your mouth and was not chewy at all and full of flavor. I really liked their chimichurri and it's not something you find often around Sparta. Beautiful environment and very clean! We had a great experience!

Great ambiance, plenty of seating, and an absolutely wonderful server. The “caviar of the south” (pimento cheese plate) was fabulous, and I ended up getting the spicy pimento cheese burger as well. It was cooked well and the crispy edges of the bun were especially memorable. Cooked just how I like it. The potato soup I found very bland. They have a good selection of ciders and beers as well as a bar. I ordered off menu and got a hot chocolate with baileys. Perfect for a cold day

Had a nice dining experience at the Muddy Creek Cafe in Sparta, NC. The double bacon cheeseburger and fries were served fresh, hot, and quite tasty. My server was friendly, quick, and gladly answered my questions about different items on their extensive menu. The cafe is full of rustic decor and peppered with great local works of art. The cafe was quite clean and designed to allow customers plenty of personal space. The food portions were of a better than average size but prices were also slightly higher than average as well. The sweet tea and pickles were very good. I will definitely stop in again when I'm in Sparta.

Went here for a show. Very nice venue. Everyone except the bartender was very nice. We were waiting for show to begin and I had a beer, a glass was brought but I had a koozie but was not allowed to use it. I had a couple beers during the show and was waited on by a very nice waitress. The show ended and the band was selling merchandise and people were mingling, it was a few minutes to 10, I went to the bar to order another beer but was told the bar was closed. I went back into where the band had played to wait on my husband. As we were leaving probably 15 to 20 minutes later we had to pass by the bar area and to my surprise there were people at the bar drinking beer. If I were intoxicated I could understand him not serving me but I had only 3 beers in 3 hours. Very dissatisfied in his service, other than that it is a great place.

My second visit to Muddy Creek, as good as I remembered. Server was very friendly and helpful. She answered our questions and was attentive while we were there. We ate earlydinner, so they didn't have musicians yet but they were setting things up for it.I had a pimento, jalapeño hamburger. Perfection! Just enough heat, hamburger cooked well but no burned meat. The bun complimented the toppings. My husband had an open-faced Tuna melt, wonderful! Tuna was good, cheese melted over avocado & tuna. The macaroni salad and French fries were both good.Decor is rustic with nice artwork scattered around the roomThey have outdoor seating but we chose indoor table. They serve some hard ciders and craft beers besides of soft drinks. They have an assortment of T-shirts, snacks some ready to cook meals like Chicken pot pies & desserts to go, etc.

Fried avocados!! Atmosphere so pleasant and good food and beverages. I keep going back. Yummy key lime pie. Great service.12/31/2021 - Tables are spaced out which is good due to virus. Had a super bottle of Prosecco, dry and flavorful. I had salmon perfectly cooked and fresh flavor with smashed potatoes and asparagus. I asked for some bread and they brought out a nice piece of focaccia. The fluffy dessert cheesecake makes me want to go back and get another piece! Relaxed atmosphere and good food!!!

I don’t often write reviews, but I feel it my due diligence to at least write a review about my experience here. I’m in the service industry and have been for 14 years. I know when a place is struggling and I can offer grace, vs when a place clearly doesn’t care about its service. This is one of those places. To start, the place is unclean. Upon entering, the host sat my boyfriend and I at a two person table and literally wiped the crumbs off the table with his hands before setting our silverware and menus down. That’s when we should’ve left. There were multiple tables not wiped and the floors were filthy.Service was slow to start, but generally consistent. However, my bf and I witnessed three separate groups be sat and never waited on so they just left. In fact, a table that had clearly been sitting before we were sat was served AFTER we had our waters. But there was a whole group of staff standing behind the counter?? I’m still baffled by the obvious lack of management. The food was…lackluster. I ate it considering I was pretty hungry and I hate sending a plate back but I certainly won’t make the same mistake. I ordered a $28 meal for the whole thing to come out undercooked. The steak was rare when I asked for medium-rare, granted that distinction is hard to make sometimes so I let that slide. The brussels were under seasoned and undercooked. The potatoes au-gratin were pretty tough to cut and just generally tasteless. This is something I’d serve to a toddler to introduce them to new foods.I know this is Sparta, NC and we’re not exactly a gastronomic hotspot, but I was expecting far more from this place. I’m disappointed and will just have to take my business to other places. I genuinely hope this place can make a turnaround and be a real Sparta gem, but perhaps a change in management would be a good start.

I ordered the double double bacon cheeseburger with fries. Yum! Kinda small, but filling and very tasty. I will come back when passing through Sparta again.

Phenomenal blackened chicken sandwich with aioli sauce on a perfectly toasted, buttered bun. Add a side of carrot and ginger soup to the side and you’ve got a delicious, warm, filling, wholesome meal.

I'm giving it 2 stars because the food and atmosphere are good. But, service is horrible everytime I go. And, this is not just a one time occurrence....3 times in a row! On the most recent visit, they were busy, and we showed an abundance of patience, but I had to go to the counter to ask for a waitress two times..it took over an hour to get our food after finally getting someone to wait on us...tables around us were being served, slowly but nonetheless served, then we had to go ask for our check and wait for that to be figured out while there was a lot of standing around being done by the wait staff. I so wanted this place to work out since dining options are limited. For what you have to pay for dining out these days, service was just totally unacceptable.

Great place to stop in Sparta for a really good meal I had a Rueben and my wife had chicken salad wrap. Both were delicious. Server was very attentive and made sure we wanted for nothing. Try it you won't be disappointed and if you have dinner they have a live band.
