I recently visited War Dogs Surplus of Southern Pines in search of outdoor gear to use while camping and was immediately impressed by the well-organized layout and selection of the store, plus the amount of just cool stuff on the walls and in cases. Lots of history there that's neat to look at and talk about. The owner greeted me warmly and were incredibly knowledgeable, guiding me through their selection to help me find exactly what I needed. The quality of the gear I purchased was top-notch, offering great value for the price. I was particularly impressed by the wide variety of items available, catering to not just military surplus enthusiasts but also outdoor adventurers. My overall experience was very positive, and I appreciated the owner's dedication to customer satisfaction. This is the best military surplus and military supply store I've been to. The owner and his team are great and absolutely know their stuff. Even if you're not local, it's worth making the trip if you're looking for any military or outdoor gear.

Go to spot for all things surplus, including some thing you can’t possibly imagine! Good stock of tactical equipment, first aid gear and the like. Surplus and uniforms from all lacrosse the world as a bonus. They have a “museum” on the inside. Extremely friendly and owner is there to help you. No photos allowed of the inside of the place, be aware. Do not miss this spot near downtown Southern Pines.

Absolutely wonderful store -- Peter has everything you need from Camping equipment to military gear, and the front is an excellent museum showcasing his vast collection. Extremely fair prices, very honest and always has what you might be looking for, and on the rare occasion that he doesn't, he won't hesitate to recommend where to get it. Half History and Half Awesome Inventory, Total Package for your tactical, outdoor and camping needs.War Dogs is an amazing place. Peter has an excellent inventory of gear, packs, support equipment and all of the surplus goodies that you are accustomed to finding. He is knowledgeable and friendly. The store is organized and laid out in a way that is easy to navigate and find what you are looking for. Peter is also a supporter of his community. I work for a local non-profit and he regularly donates gear to us that is critical for us completing our mission of helping families. I arrived to War Dogs my first time on Saturday looking for a Veteran’s Day present for my dad. I did not realize that it was past hours and caught Peter outside. He was still very communicative about what he thought might be a good present for an LTC. He told me his Monday hours and I knew I was definitely going to return. He remembered the sterling silver piece he told me about and I ended up getting it. He was awesome and super helpful! I have learned many times in life that if you want to know who to trust, just play dumb. I took a Japanese bayonet to few shops in the area. They retail for about 150 bucks. Every shop I'd went too told me it was trash and offered me 10 bucks. Peter, the owner operator of War Dogs, was the only one who didn't try to screw me. He called it like it was, told me the exact retail price and what he was comfortable paying for it. His price was fair, and we have been doing business ever since. He also has one of the most varied and eclectic collections of military equipment I've ever seen. He has everything from military relics of historical value upto and including modern high-speed kit. I send everyone I know to trade with Peter, because he's good people.

This is by far the cleanest and most organized surplus store I have been in so far. The whole place looks brand new and so well-maintained compared to all the others. Inside you will find uniforms and equipment from WWI, WWII, Vietnam, and plenty of other modern surplus around the whole store. There is a wide variety of things to choose from, and I found the 2 sets of display case items incredibly interesting; it’s a must see for all who enter. You’ll find that Peter, the owner, is very fair when it comes to pricing his products and will gladly share the history of anything and where it came from. I was genuinely surprised with how much life and energy I felt from this store, and I recommend that any collector or military enthusiast pay a visit to this place, you will not regret it.

War dogs of southern pines is such a good and well organized place to shop for military surplus. The owner Peter is well versed and very friendly. He helped me find what I was looking for right away and helped me find what was in my budget. The shop is nice and clean and very organized. We traveled from Florida and just had to stop here to get some new molle bags for my rucksack. 10 out of 10 and would definitely recommend.
