I cannot express into words how much we love this place!!! The staff always amazing! Amber (the owner) has amazing people skills always very humble from when you walk in to when you walk out! My girls are always happy to go in and see everyone we have had bad experiences in other places but if you’re ever in Shelby be sure to stop here and book with them!!! I will always recommend this place!!!

DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE!!! I WISH IT WERE POSSIBLE TO LEAVE NEGATIVE STARS BECAUSE THIS PLACE KILLED MY DOG! He was a healthy dog before we left him. We just took him to the vet who gave him a clean bill of health & also recommended this God forsaken establishment. He was there for four days and we called to check on him EVERYDAY, sometimes more than once. I call them the day he is to be picked up (today Jan 2 2023) right after they open and I’m told they were about to contact me & that he is gone!! NO EXPLANATIONS, NO IDEA WHAT HAPPENED. NOTHING!! They opened and my healthy 4 year old Akita is dead. New year just started and I all want is my dog back!!!!

You started by taking care of our sweet Hermionie and now you care for our Maizey May. We are glad that she has a groomer and a place to board that cares for here like we do. Whiskers is the VERY BEST dog groomer I have ever had. Not only do they do an incredible job on grooming, they are real animal lovers! We have also used them for boarding when we went to the beach and I feel like we are leaving our fur baby with family! Love, love, love WN&PDT!🐶❤️

I scheduled my little mixed pup to get groomed. It was his first time, and I was soooo happy with the results. He looked like a different dog, so nice and spiffy. I tried to show pics b4 and after (the pictures were taken the same week!)

I love Whiskers! They treat every dog and cat as if they were their own. They also had a staff of 4 sleep at their shop through the resent snow storm, to make sure all of the boarding dogs and cats were taken care of. I would highly recommend Whiskers to anyone!

I love this shop. I bring my dachshund here for a bath and haircut. Everyone is so sweet and friendly, yet professional. The shop is super clean and comfortable. I love the little extra things they carry, like squeaky toys, cookies, plus collars, leashes and hygiene products. Their prices are fair and affordable. By far, the best I've seen. And my fur baby loves the attention he gets. I highly recommend. Thanks ya'll.

Took my german shepherd here for a groom and was quite impressed. Everyone I spoke with was super nice and very friendly. I just took her for a bath and de-shed but the price was more than fair and she looks so good! Her coat is super soft and shiny, and she smells great even after running around outside for a bit. They also have a small shop in the front with some really high quality treats and shampoos/smell good sprays/etc. I will DEFINITELY be bringing my pup back (:

I was turned away because my dog did not have all its vaccines. She did have a current rabies but according to the check-in girl, that wasn't enough. At the time I made the appointment, no one mentioned this. They did another of my dogs a month ago and no one asked for proof of any vaccines. This girl told me it was a law. The only law in NC that I could find was for rabies, not for any other vaccines. I wasted my gas and my time. I have several dogs, all former strays. They get their initial shots when taken in and then only get rabies thereafter. They get spayed or neutered. If this is their policy, fine, but before they waste anyone else's time, they ought to make this known when booking the appointment.

Took my three small dogs (All who hate to get their nails cut) you can walk in without an appointment and they are fast and friendly and do it at a good price. We will go back for sure.

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. I'm so disappointed. They don't listen and done different than what I ask for. After I repeatedly told them what was needed. They weren't suppose to cut her eyebrows. Now she is a chopped up mess. All she was suppose to get was a bath, brush and sanitary trim. Brought both puppies home to give them another bath because they stunk.

My Luna went to be groomed for the 1st time today. They went above my expectations. They were great with her and she looked like an a princess when I picked her up. The staff was so kind, every one I encountered. They really love your babies like their own. The little bows in her hair was so cute I couldnt get enough photos today.

I don’t normally leave reviews but I feel compelled to do so in this particular instance. My mom’s dog, Chester, was a grooming client here for almost two years. Chester was attacked by another dog on September 2, 2023 and died that night. His next scheduled grooming appointment was for the following Saturday. I called the Monday after he died, had to leave a message, and informed them of Chester’s unfortunate death. I also thanked them for their service and for always doing such a good job of making him look so nice. I got a voicemail the next day and instead of extending any condolences or saying thank you for your business, all I got was someone wanting me to confirm the last name that he was listed under so that they could cancel his upcoming appointment. I was totally taken aback by the lack of compassion and the complete lack of empathy. This review is simply an attempt on my part to get you to do better in the future. Chester’s death has had a profound effect on my mom and on me, as well, and it would have meant a great deal to have had you express even just a little bit of sympathy for our loss.

I’ve actually been in the grooming industry so I was really concerned about being judged for my dogs nails being so long. Well, the woman who helped me was very kind I didn’t feel judged at all. All 3 of my dogs nails cut and filed at a more than reasonable price and the nails look amazing. I know that the quick is hard to find at that length and they are definitely shorter than a lot of groomers could have gotten. They even got bandanas. So thanks so much. 🐶 ❤️

Would not recommend for cat grooming. They butchered my cat's hair left him lumpy and didn't finish the cut because they said my cat was too anxious and not only charged me full price but tried to charge extra for their "trouble" which I wasn't going to pay extra! If he was anxious and aggressive, they should have stopped right away and called me to come and get him instead of butchering his hair. He looks pitiful. And my cat is now going to have to go to the veterinarian because he has been sick, throwing up and snotty nose ever since his grooming visit. He's never been sick before so there's no way their place is sanitary for him to get sick like he is. I just pray he'll get better soon.

Love this place. They are so kind to Murphy (older dog and can seem a bit grumpy but deep down is nice) and every time we call them for an appointment, they are very accommodating.

I got a fast appointment for my large breed dog. The staff was exceptionally friendly & they did a wonderful job on my Aussie, King. Easy to find,good parking & the lobby area was tidy and decorated with cute pet items & colors. Everyone I encountered either via phone or in person was professional & extremely pleasant. So many businesses these days are lacking in service so it was great to find this place. It was highly recommended by fb friends & they were correct. A+,you won't be disappointed.

We just got our little 4 month old Aussiedoodle Loki back from his very first grooming appt and everyone there said he did really well with it. Loki is a little timid with new places, but by the time I picked him up he was a very happy puppy & he just loved everyone there. The place is so adorable too with all the beautiful animal decor. Everyone was very knowledgeable and helpful. Very reasonable prices too. I do believe my hubby & I have found our new permanent groomer. My hubby came home & said he looks like a handsome boy. Thank you everyone at Whiskers Nails & Puppy Dog Tails for being so wonderful to our fur baby. Ya'll are the best!
