I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! The chocolate cake, apple cake, German chocolate cake, red velvet bake, banana pudding, & brownies are AMAZING!!! The staff is ALWAYS friendly and kind. The best part, it reminds me of my mom’s baked goods. All cakes are light and fluffy & not overly sweet. I would give them 10stars if I could. I would highly recommend them to anyone in Shelby or the surrounding areas. 🏽 🏽 🏽 🏽

Reggie is the owner. Maryann who works the front counter is his mother-in-law. I was a weekly customer for the past three weeks. I saw Maryann talk hateful to a woman two weeks ago and thought she might be having a bad day. I went in today to order for thanksgiving and then look at what they had today i might want to try. Reggie and a gentleman were discussing something they order online by numbers. I ask what they were ordering by numbers. Maryann yelled for me to mind my own business and come tell her what else i wanted. My jaw dropped. I could not believe the mean harsh tone she used. Knowing she is just a worker there i would not leave this negative feedback but i am because Reggie let her talk to me - a customer - in such a harsh negative way. I was appalled as well as taken back. I would not trust the preparation of any orders. Not an establishment i would ever step foot in again. With the Thanksgiving order and my weekly visits Reggie just lost 100 a month customer because he allowed me to be treated in this manner. I do not understand why people have to be so mean and unkind to others.

Phyllis' Sweet Shop is fabulous. You walk in and are greeted with hello and the amazing sweet smells. Everything is delicious and I mean everything. Once you try desserts here you will keep coming back. I highly recommend Phyllis' Sweet Shop.

Versatile and delicious! I have ordered vegan cupcakes and cakes for many occasions with no issue! This is one of the only bakers in town who cater to animal-free treats in Shelby. The cakes were still rich, moist, and divine without tasting off or missing texture. Love it!

When I met my wife she told me about this place. One brownie and I was hooked. We got a special cake for our anniversary and loved it. The lemonade cake was exceptional. The customer service is wonderful. We make special trips into town just to visit. Never would dream of getting any baked good from anywhere else.

We got a caramel cake and it was delish! Very kind man helped us. We accidentally got there just as they were closing and let us right in. I didn’t realize they closed at 1 on Saturdays I’m a total dummy.100% recommend!!!

Everything is delicious!! Love that you can get their cookies, cheese straws, and cakes (and the rest) in Uptown now during the week as well as at the farmers market on Saturdays. The fried pies are popular (go early if you want to snag one) and their trays for parties are great too.

Every time I travel back to my hometown from Charlotte, I have to stop by Phyllis Sweet Shop. The absolute BEST sweets I have had. Best peanut butter cookies, best pecan pie, best peanut butter fudge, brownies... you name it. They are awesome and the nicest people!

Brownies just melt in your mouth, I’m definitely addicted my daughter as well!! Overall Phyllis Sweet shop is a great place to get something sweet, maybe see someone you know, and smell the wonderful aromas!!

Stopped by after seeing the sign a few days ago and was not disappointed. The German Chocolate Cake was amazing and the cheesecake was gone in seconds. Looking for another occasion to stop by. We may have to celebrate a day that ends in a Y. The biggest disappointment was not having seen the shop before.

I am pregnant, and Reggie’s pecan pies are my second top craving. The pecan pies are the best. I take a bite and it’s like I’m stepping into another world. I don’t even realize I’m taking other bites. I just get lost in the golden sweetness. Love love love
