I shopped at Dollar General on Polkville Road in Shelby yesterday and it was a great experience! Cornelius was very nice and welcoming when I came into the store and even asked if I needed want help. I also noticed how busy he stayed and worked hard. If we could have people like him working in places the world would be a little more pleasant! I just wanted to let this company know that they have a good one! Btw, the store looks great!

This store is one of the best Dollar General stores. It always has everything so well Organized and clean. It is very convenient from where I live traveling on 226 to visit. However, it has been closed most of the day and sometimes all day for the last 2 weeks, due to short staff.Sincerely, Judy

This is the fourth time I have been to the Dollar General before 5 PM and there was a sign on the door saying they were closed due to staffing. If it's going to be that common of an occurrence just change the hours that you have listed on the doors. Don't lie and say 10 PM and have people waste her gas money which isnt cheap these days might I add to drive to your locations and be closed. If it's that big of a problem to staff your stores then maybe you should consider paying them more because if they made a decent wage you wouldn't have a problem getting them to work. I'm also confused because is it in this way you have store managers and assistant managers shift managers and even district managers… who should be stepping in to keep the stores open when the barely paid staff called into work. Just do better.

It was a pleasant experience! This was one I had never been in before and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to find anything I needed. However, I did without any assistance from the employees. They were very courteous! Also, there was no wait time ♥️

Everything was excellent at the Dollar General store I had what I needed at one store and I found the next item I needed at the Dollar General right down the highway both managers were very helpful with me thank you so much and I'm glad they're in my neighborhood

The staff at this location are helpful and friendly. However, this is the only Dollar General I've been in that is so packed you can't turn without hitting something. Other than that, I love it.

They will not allow my service dog inside. She has been going in there since I have had her. Now they say she is not allowed. I will drive to Polkville or Shelby rather than go to this store. I only go here when I know for sure I can go in and out in a matter of minutes. I even ask for District Managers number and was told they didn't have it.

For picking up things quickly and cheaply they are the best. Convenient. Not the best with service, as my Dad said " you get what you pay for ".

Management and employee training needs a complete overhaul. Pay for employees is way too low and they are way too overworked. Biggest problem is lack of training and management.
