Long wait for grooming but its bc they are short staffed. The two people I have dealt with in grooming work really hard & should be acknowledged for their excellent quality of service & accommodating as much as possible with the current understaffed circumstances.

PetSmart is such an awesome place in Shallotte NC. The staff are knowledgeable. We adopted our 4 and 5th cats from PetSmart. They really promote a caring environment for the animals up for adoption.

Me and my fiancé go here a lot to look at their reptiles we have a chameleon, two iguanas and a leopard gecko so we know all about how to take care of them and we went today wanting to buy their chameleon but the poor baby look so sick with its eye sucked in and tinier than the last time we seen it just a week ago. I am only leaving this review so they can take care of it and maybe get it medical treatment that is needed. No reptile should be neglected and they really need to help that chameleon I would’ve bought it today but I can’t spend $200 dollars then more to get it back to health.

Updated 5/30/2022 this store remains consistently clean, with happy helpful employees that are excellent at their job and love what they do. Today's visit was kind of panicked for me bc I have foster pups & needed some help. Sophie was INCREDIBLE, spending time discussong several food options and brands with us, helping me with info and products and a happy smile too. Every employee was kind but she went above all my expectations and made me feel capable and informed on my new venture.Great, clean store. Very friendly employees. Extremely well stocked. We needed new harnesses for our girls, and they even let us try them on before we bought for the perfect fit. Very impressed.

They didn't have a cat groomer for almost a year and then when they got one finally trained, they book her completely out with nothing but dogs! I prepaid for (2) cat groomings when the cat groomer started and had to get a refund because she was booked out for several months with dog groomings. How does Pet Smart advertise that they groom cats but in all reality they don't?

I wanted to see some fish in the top aquarium. I knew I was looking for what was on the label but the fish were too high to see. I went upfront to the register and told the employee I was interested in the fish on top so could I stand on the ladder to see them. She said customers were not allowed which I understand but made no move to help. I asked how I could see the fish and said, I’m sorry.”Their aquariums are getting somewhat better but seeing a lot of dead fish is common. Which is why I need to look at the fish for disease. If I wanted to buy fish I don’t know who would have helped me. I really don’t know if it’s the employees fault or management for not scheduling enough employees.

The self washing service is a waste of money. The shampoo and conditioner containers were mostly empty. If you can find one that has shampoo hardly any is dispensed. If you want to use their tub make sure you bring your own s/c. Expensive for the use of a tub and water.

This is for only the grooming department They don’t know what they are doing. Called explain the situation about my dog they said it was okay that their groomers was very professional also explain to the groomers as I was there they did his back and then said they couldn’t do the rest because he’s too rowdy they also had a cone on his head so I know my dog wouldn’t bit them if they had a cone on his head which I believe they did not want to even try due to their lack of knowledge with blind dogs but the store department deserves a 5 start very kind grooming department needs new groomers who knows what they are doing!!

We took our new puppy to Pet Smart for a training class. The young girl teaching the class was awesome. She was knowledgeable, kind and very good with the dogs. We learned 3 tricks on the first day. The other dogs were so cool. We met some good people in the class. Thank you Pet Smart.
