As long as I've been alive there has been a Selma IGA. The first owner Joe Moore was just an absolutely amazing guy. And I am so embarrassed to say that I don't know the new owners name, but he is just as terrific of guy as Joe was. When ever I go in and he's there he greets me with a great big smile, a handshake or a fistbump, and always asks me how I doing. The day-to-day manager John is stalwart at IGA. He's worked there since her was a kid and knows the store inside-out. All the girls that run the registers are friendly and never rude or out the way to customers from what I've see. They're always friendly and finally the Store itself is impeccable. The new owner has remodeled the front registers and the produce section and it looks amazing. And even though the store isn't very big the owner has managed to add a sort of butcher's counter with a few select cuts of meat that are different from day to day.

I think the meat inspectors finally went through this place because it seems like their meat is fresher now, but I just don’t know 100%. That’s why it’s three star so far. There were times I went through there and they had double stickers on their meat and if you look at the sticker underneath, it expired 10 days sooner than that sticker they had on top and the price was higher on the underneath sticker, and the price was lower on the top sticker. And when I went three days ago, everything expired within like 10 days maximum, and I remember before their meats would be dated like a month out. I will update my review when I go again they may eventually get a five star aside from the The green tortilla shells that I got that were actually supposed to be yellow but when you open the pack, there was a whole dust cloud of green that came out. I’m just not sure right now. But will update when I go next time. UPDATE I've been back a second time, and the meat seems to be good and no foul smell.3rd and 4th time meat was ok. 5th time yesterday I went my meat smells like it was thick and didn’t sell and they cut it up thinner and re-packaged it. My review is going to go back down to a idk what to think until next time.

The owner had made this store a community fixture. And he really helps locals. I was in a sitation a few years ago and his kindness was unmatched. I paid him back and tried to pay more as a thank you, he wouldn't take it. Food is fresh, service is friendly. Thank you Selma IGA

The lettuce was going bad and turning black. The lettuce and cabbage were so small to be as expensive as they were. Small disorganized store but can be helpful in the time of need. A grocery store with convenience store prices and sub par food.

Clean. The prices are very high. Just got minimal. The guy cashier was not friendly at all. Did not greet me or say thank you. Hometown service is out the window. Too bad.

Ever since the new owners Took over the store has more variety when it comes to produce. However the butcher is literally butchering the meat. uneven cuts, more fat than meat and super super thin. I do give it four stars because most the produce and dairy products do you come from local farmers. However I do you believe they need a better selection on meats and cut more evenly and professionally.

Friendly staff but aisles very small. Barely big enough for 2 carts. Expand aisles or make smaller carts.

I stopped by to see if they had any vine ripened tomatoes...nope not local..I was hoping they did carry local...Food Lion gets from local. Gardner's...the one thing I can say for this IGA is they carry cooked greens that are frozen...but it seems they cater to certain people and I have only seen 3people that worked there that is friendly. I am a talkative person that speaks to everyone it's hard going with me into places I talk to everyone..small town grocery store needs a good make over ...sometimes it's convenient to stop and run in they don't buy in bulk so the prices will be a little high but most of the time it's worth it just to walk to the store.. nice

This is the best place to buy meat from around me. Prices cannot be beat. Puts walmart to shame. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Ever since the management change a while back, there has been more hispanic products - AND I LOVE IT! Great for expanding your culinary prospects. Learn to make something other than spaghetti or chicken nuggets guys. Get some real ingredients.

I will never spend my money in this place again. On July 3rd. I bought 6 packs of hamburger meat. By July 7th the hamburger meat was not even pink after being frozen. I called and asked them what they can do to fix this problem and they told me I could bring it back and exchange it. When I got back the first gentleman was understanding and asked me "what did I want, the money?". I responded I just wanted the same meat amount of meat that I just purchased. When we go to the back that gentleman told me to grab 4 packs of meat and we were even. I told him I would appreciate it if I could just get the same packs (lbs and price) that I had. He told me that the meat was $2.48 lb now however, when I purchased them they were $2.28 lb. So I explained I would just like what I paid for. He fixes them but my packs were $6.23-$6.73 2.14-2.48 lb per pack and I had 5 packs. He came out with 4 packs one of the packs had $2.99 per pound and others were $2.49 per pound. The amount to meat and the price of the meats certainly did not add up so I spoke up and he told me to "just go and just leave". I would have never been talked to this way by the old owners and workers. So therefore them ripping me off and disrespecting me this was has just made a loyal customer decide to take her business else where. Other people had been telling me they sell spoiled food but now I have the proof. I would rather drive 25 miles to get fresh, quality, and reasonably priced food than to deal with these people.

Nice little supermarket in Selma, it looks pretty good for a 60 plus year old market. I visit on my way back from Smithfield, the meats are high quality and fairly inexpensive. You can find a lot of international brands of Mexican food and drinks, pretty unique stuff here.

Iga has been consistent since the day i become a customer. Its a good store to make a quick run if you dont feel like goin to a big crowded superstore like walmart. Freindly staff. The prices are competitive , and also the meat section always have some type of deal going on. Defenetly plan on being a regular customer for as i can see.

This place is great! I use to go here all the time as a kid. It has definitely changed & for the better! I live in Smithfield, but I go here to shop for my meats because it's so much cheaper than Carlie C's in Smithfield. I use to love the one in Smithfield, but ever since they sold it, everything - especially the meats - are higher. I love the variety they have as well. So much more diverse meats than just ol' americano lol. I love the new renovation as well. The service is fantastic! I will shop here forevermore lol.

A small town grocery store. It is small but conveniently located for quik trips and stock up trips. It is limited somewhat in its products but has quality meats and produce. They have recently extended their services to include items and services for the large hispanic community here.

The entire store is filthy. The produce "department" is dismal, rotting, and limited to foreign patrons. Their 19 year old foreign girl who "claims" to be store manager is just plain RUDE to loyal customers. Stay clear of this foreign owned franchise.

Prices too high compared to IGA in Smithfield. Big problem with out of date deli meats on self! Overall I would rate this store a 3 out of 10.. Want stay open long under new management.
