Great people, nice facilities. I understand resources are limited, and manpower is hard to get these days. I'm sure they are overwhelmed with their work. That said, the total lack of discipline with the dogs is a disservice to the dogs in my opinion. Allowing dogs to prop on counters, jump up on employees, grab things out of bins, etc. creates bad habits that then require more time, money, effort, and energy to break in order to have a well-behaved pup. Don't take this as a bad review as they are cleaner and better organized than most shelters. We expected some of these issues as all our dogs over the years have been rescues. I just feel there is room for improvement that would make the dogs easier to adopt out. Regardless, we are happy with our wonderful pup and will continue to support the CHHS.

A very nice no kill shelter. I love the large kennels outside so they have room to run and play. Very friendly and helpful staff. A very healthy looking facility. A great place to find that perfect pet! Don't support inhumane puppy mills when there are so many wonderful animals looking for a loving family!

What an amazing group of people, i went and adopted yesterday and was blown away by the friendliness of the staff. they showed us every dog we wanted and were very very good at handling animals. you can tell these dogs love these handlers and trust them. they gave us supplies to last the weekend (food, collar/leash) and provided us with support and information all the way out the door with our new puppy. If you're looking to adopt, it's worth it to come here, its really hard to find a group that cares this much!

Wonderful facility and people running it who are so caring for the animals. The place is clean and the staff members and volunteers are very kind.And most helpful.I am very happy with the beautiful, sweet cat I just adopted last week.

After being approved for a dog and setting an appointment for the next time that they were open that I didn’t have to work. Which was only 8 days later. I was emailed the day before I made a 4 hour drive to pickup the dog to be told that even though I had an appointment and a approved application for the dog they had adopted him to someone else the day before. When I set up the appointment I made sure that I would be able to take the dog home that day. Which I assumed meant that the dog would not be adopted to someone else when the shelter knew someone would be adopting the dog.

Seems to me this business,. Is more puppy mill than a humane society. The application process is beyond ridiculous, the policies of this" business" are geared to generate proceeds, hardly a non profit. I will never recommend this business to anyone. My best advice visit a shelter that truely has the best interest of the animals in mind, instead of the bank account of the prospective owners

This is the most well kept, clean and organized humane society I have ever been to.The kind, honest and friendly worker's that run the place really care about the animals and really take excellent care of them all. Also the grounds are very pleasant and inviting. I will make this my go-to place if I look for another animal.

Rescued my baby from here. The staff spent a lot of time helping me get the right fit and I couldn't be happier. the temperament of my dog shows how much he was loved and cared for. Will come back here again whenever I'm ready to add dog #2 :)

Well we went in and found a kitten we wanted to adopt. filled out paper work, we were told it would not be ready till 15th due to surgery. We were told to set up an appt at our vets. We did. and called them back to let them know his appt was set at the vets. ONLY to be told SORRY ,WE adopted it to another family.......WHAT?????????????????????????? Thanks for breaking our kids hearts................... 1 star is really too much for them.............

What a wonderful place for a stepping stone to a forever home. The outdoor runs are roomy and the dogs all seem to be happy to be there. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Thank you for what you do!!

This is a wonderful no kill animal shelter. I have gotten many cats and dogs from them over the years. They really put their hearts into their work.
