Despite numerous attempts to ensure timely delivery, I have encountered several issues that have severely impacted my experience.Firstly, there have been consistent delays in receiving packages, far beyond reasonable expectations. This has caused significant inconvenience and frustration on my part, as I rely on prompt deliveries for both personal and professional matters.Furthermore, the lack of communication regarding these delays exacerbates the problem. I have not received any proactive updates or explanations for the prolonged wait times, leaving me feeling neglected and undervalued as a customer.Additionally, there have been instances of mishandled packages, resulting in damaged goods upon arrival. This reflects poorly on your company's commitment to quality assurance and customer satisfaction.Overall, the subpar performance as a receiver has greatly tarnished my perception of your company. I urge you to take immediate action to rectify these issues and improve your service standards to meet the expectations of your customers.

I received a load for delivery here yesterday. I picked it up and drove the 8.5 hours to this location. I shut down and got up this morning and traveled to the delivery at 11:30a for my 18:00 delivery appointment. I was turned away and told i can't show up any sooner than one hour prior to my appointment time. Fast forward to 17:00 and i get here and the line is out the door and down the street. I waited 30 minutes just to get passed security and i get a dock door immediately. My first thought was well this might not be bad. Well, i was wrong. Its now 20:20 and ive just been informed my unloading hasn't even started. Hey Food Lion, maybe, don't schedule absolutely everyone in the country to show up at the same time. Maybe staggering your loads will help you keep your own appointment times. Sure hope you plan to mobilize your own fleet to pick these products up because you're burning through truckers faster than anything I've ever seen.

This wasn't the worst customer I've delivered to.... But what really irked me was you get a little slip of paper that tells you do not back up to your trailer do not do anything until you are called..... Even if a green light even after you've paid your unload fee... I sat and waited 4 and 1/2 hours before I finally went in and asked what the hold up is ........ The guy says.. oh they put the bills in the back of your trailer you've been ready for over an hour.... 🤬. No call.. no text.. no nothing.. do better guys ...for Christ's sake do better... 🤦🏽♂️

So I had a 6:30 pm appointment, get here at 5:45 pm and came thru guard shack and parked across the docks as instructed. You check in with receiving by door 6. I was in a dock by 6:10 and finished at 7:30! I did only have six pallets but still I can’t complain. All the people I dealt with were friendly, helpful and courteous! Great job! I would del here again.

This is pitiful.. first of all the guys in the guard shack will lie in a heartbeat.. I pulled up I was the first truck my appointment is 4:00 p.m.. guy came out in rentacop outfit..."what time is your appointment"... I said 4:00 p.m. he said we don't even start unloading at 4:00 p.m. let me see your paperwork ... he came back told me where to go to get a dock...lol.. I said what time... he said 4pm...lmao...lying just to try and get some sorta power over you...anyway backed in door 44 right away.... unloaded and out of here in two and a half hours

After reading the reviews and sitting here now going on 5 hours after my appointment I can see why you have such a poor rating. This has to get better. You are ruining schedules for those of us drivers that are on time to sit for hours and no updates or results. After speaking to someone face to face was told “ we are all trying to get home “ 😒 if that was the case why isn’t this moving faster. Do better Food Lion as this has been a terrible delivery experience.

I have tried contacting corporate in regards to getting a letter of termination from you and it's like pulling teeth. I have to jump through hoops like a circus poodle just to get the letter and y'all can't even email it to me even though y'all sit there and look at it while I'm on the phone with corporate now I know why you only have a 1.9 star rating do better.

I have shopped at Food Lion for many years however, I will never go back. The past few times I have been, I was accompanied by an employee, who I later found out was actually a manager, that made me very uncomforable simply by the way he looked at me at first. He never took his eyes off of me, and never made eye contact. He was clearly undressing me with his eyes and I felt more like a peice of meat than the cut meat in there. This last time, I didn't take my kids. I even asked another employee to assist me because just wanted to check out and go. Before I got to the front, the man was talking to another employee however, still looking at me and following me. He was leaning over the buggie and busted out with a loud laugh and was talking about someone being a "N-LOVER", extremely racist and it really upset me. To top off the feeling of more embarressed, the man started chastizing the employee that was helping me by making rude comments as if he was trying to degrade the employee in front of me, which he was doing, so he would look like something get my attention. It was obvious his behavior was craving some attention. I filed a complaint with the store but had to go above that store because he is the store manager. I remember he has a bald head and a little over weight with a very long rediculous beard. I really hope he isn't a store manager. I use to think Food Lion was one of the better stores, but I am back at ingles now. I will never go back in that store!!

(11/25/2023) Benson Food Lion told my girlfriend and I she could not enter her EBT manually. The cashier and "manager" said the policy had changed 2 maybe 3 months before. She had just used it in that exact store a week before no problem and several other stores before that day. If the policy has changed on manually entering the card I think all stores should be the same and have the changes posted.

Take your time.When you get a capstone text to pay just wait 2hrs and a half to pay, because they are not done.You'll be waiting on the unloader....he will hold your bill till he does other trucks and his break and count and placement.And when you do pay, you get a survey text to your phone... Wait till you get the call an hour later that your paperwork is ready.The best way is to stay on the dock without paying..the broker is not involved yet...but the longer you tie up there docks with out paying immediately will eventually jam up the call center and the parking lot.4hrs later 952pm they just started.

I wish I could have given 0 stars or negative. I've been backed into a dock with red light on for 4 hours and counting. Lumber fee paid 3 hrs ago. $225.00 To make it more unbelievable, the trailer was only 1/3 full with 11 pallets.They will give you a little card telling you what dock to go to, along with a phone number to call if you have been here over 2 hours. Don't bother calling that number because no one will answer it. If you go back to the receiving office to speak to someone, they may or may not even be there. If they are, they'll get on walkie-talkie and inquire about your load. The response is that they are working on it.Stay away from this place at all cost, unless you have nothing else to do and just 5, 6.... hours of your day.And of course, no overnight parking is allowed, even though they have plenty of space to accommodate the drivers.Normally, I don't like to give negative reviews, but honestly, this place is a joke. I guess there is a reason I don't see any of the major carriers here.STAY AWAY!!!!!!!

Guard was very nice, the check in staff was very nice, and on top of that, HONEST. They told me up front it was going to be a long wait here. Appt was for 19:30. Arrived at 18:30 was put in a door at 19:00 but told by the staff, "it's going to be a while but we'll call you when we're done, most likely a little after midnight." They had me Done at 03:00. Didn't really appreciate the whole 8.5 hour unload time but I really did appreciate the way they told me and the honesty of the situation. They weren't rude about it and that is something I don't see often anywhere. Lunper fee was pretty high but I had a large load. They had 2 Port a potties for toilets and they don't allow overnight parking...

Lumper is High , service is trash , NO RESTROOMS!!! Spent the good part of 5 almost 6 hrs here to get unloaded. You can be on time for appointment , they don’t care they still have you sitting there like that’s the only place in the world you have to be ! Waste of time and what should have been maybe an hour turned to 6

It's a shame this is the best that grown professionals can accomplish. You have to wait at the light before even turning onto Executive Dr. It's obvious they schedule everyone for the same time. It took 55 minutes to check-in at the gate. You then park across from the receiving office and then get in line there as well. We stood in line for 1 hour and 27 minutes in the rain and cold. Needless to say, I'll never waste my time delivering here again. They won't let you in but 1 hour before your appointment time, and there is no overnight parking. I find it hard to believe their employees can be proud of themselves.

Reading the corporate reviews makes complete sense of why and how horrible this company is ran now!!!! You people cater to the rich demographics but can not keep simple items ie: frozen hashbrowns or French fries in stock in small poorer towns specifically BUTNER / CREEDMOOR!!! Sad thing is your distribution center is less than half a mile from this store. But you can surely go 15 miles to north Raleigh and find everything you could imagine. You people absolutely SUCK!!!!! Obviously MEG HAM doesn't know how to make nor run a company. DK BETTER!!!!

Shame on you, Food Lion. Do better and give Bradley Vaughn his job back as our town of Floyd’s best cashier!

The cashier took my grocery shopping bag, the bags that Food Lion sells, and dumped the contents of the bag onto the conveyor because she did not feel like taking the items out of the bag one by one. I had carefully selected fruit and vegetables and yogurt that could have been punctured , bruised or damaged by the other contents of the bag. When I approached her register she did not acknowledge me as a person and when I place the bag on the conveyor she took the back lifted it and dumped everything out. I was appalled and asked to speak to a manager and she said that there was no manager. I had just seen the manager walk by. I asked another associate who went and brought the assistant manager who did nothing. I felt like I was not a valued customer. I understand that this Food Lion location has struggled with retaining employees but with customer service like that, this location should also be struggling to retain customers. With rising inflation and the high cost of food products everyone wants there money to last and the products that are purchased to make it to the table. This issue needs to be addressed. I have just recently began shopping in store after poor customer service under the manager Jennifer and now that the manager from Ebenezer has taken over the store I expected the service to have improved. I am very disappointed. Please watch the video.

Typically my shopping experience ends with me being harassed by store employees because they had to come to work. Otherwise, sales are difficult to get. Store brands that would make a dollar store cringe

I don't know how to exactly describe the experience.There is that lumper fee... And therefore the additional time with overpriced undropped stones logistiks. The prices are High. Shrug.I dropped Toilet Papel. I'm not exactly sure what they were therefore counting... Inspecting... But 3.5 hours gone. My lumper was prepaid, so not sure what the delay was, but roughly 4 hours just gone, poof, vanished into the night...The only pleasant person was the shipping office guy. The rest were bothered by my presence there.

The Wendell, NC location allow customers to bring their dogs to the store. All a customer has to say is that it is a service dog. I saw a lady holding a small dog in her hands. She was handling fresh produce and the produce came in contact with the dog. The lady put that same produce back in the bin. It's clear the store does not care about other customers. If that dog had worms or fleas, they could be over all of the food it was near. I know we wash our produce but what about the hot food we buy? Why pay Lumper and hold the driver hostage for claiming you are breaking down the product? If the driver brings the sealed trailer doesn't matter whether you have shortages or overages; that problem is for the shipper/receiver. You don't have to keep the driver here waiting all day.No overnight parking and they can only take you one hour earlier before your appointment.The pilot Truckstop is 7.5 /15 minutes miles away. Or you can go to the Food Lion grocery store @ Food Lion, Statesville Boulevard, Salisbury, and park there only 2 miles away.

50 minutes waiting on the lane to receiving window. On the sun, on the foot. Outside 85 degrees. Has 5 pallets with snacks to drop, they are hold me on the door already 2 hours, and charged 150$ lumper fee. I was driving in many Food line DC, but this is worse. Absolutely not recommended.

I am a Legally disabled person who has shopped at my local Food Lion Store for over 6 years with my Legally Registered service dog.The last time I was in,, the Manager told me I must remover my tiny dog from the cart, as it must be sterilized because he was in it. The well groomed, clean dog sat on his own blanket.As a disabled person I felt discriminated.

I had an appointment at 8:30 pm. They used to let you check in and then you get in line to get your truck unloaded. Now they are telling us that you can't come in more than an hour before your appointment. So, I come in at 7:30, but had to stand in line with about 25 other truckers in 90 plus degree temperatures. By the time I get checked in, I learn that they are wayyyyyyy behind!!! So, I get backed in at 9pm, but didn't get unloaded until 4:30 am. Now mind you, I only had 6 pallets to be unloaded and paid a lumper's fee of $180. These guys are super slow!!! I followed directions and went to check on my door after 3hours twice and got a different excuse each time. As an owner operator, I'm not used to be held up like that. I avoid Amazon, Kimberly Clark, Target and now Food Lion. I get paid to drive not to wait on incompetent individuals who takes 8 hours do unload 6 pallets. You won't waste anymore of my time!!!

Absolutely the worst place to deliver! No respect for drivers at all. It took them 6 hours and 38 minutes to unload my trailer! No restrooms, no break room, nothing. When I asked what took so long, the employees in charge blamed the lumper co, and the lumper employee kept blaming the people in charge. Complete shitshow!
