We are new, but our experience has been great. We brought one of our cats. We tried 5 other local vets, including two of our regulars, and this office was the only one able to see our cat in an emergency. They were able to see us quickly, and we're able to treat our cat. I am grateful and happy with their service.

I LOVE our Vet! We have a dog & a cat who go here! I have also said my final goodbyes to a family pet here! They are professional, yet caring! They also take Spay/Neuter Voucher’s from Humane Solutions, which is an Awesome organization!

I have multiple cats and dogs (all rescues) - all spayed or neutered. For years I have been a client with AH&W. I first met Dr. McLeod years ago on a Vet Night when she was working pro bono for Animal Adoption and Rescue Foundation in Winston-Salem. She is awesome as are the other veterinarians at AH&W - I have experience working with each. They have helped me extend or better the health of my furry family as well as helped many in a final act of love (humane euthanasia). I continue to spend hundreds of dollars with this practice for the experience, quality, and respect shown by the veterinarians and office staff. (Recently had to say "good-bye" to a 14-year old cat and 11-year old dog after weeks of palliative care. Heart-wrenching. Could not imagine doing that in a vet's office that was not a caring environment.)

On 3-6-2024 I brought Molly, a young cat, into Animal Health and Wellness Hospital in Rural Hall, NC to get spayed and for vaccinations.Pros: I found the parking lot and the reception area clean and inviting. The office staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient. The office staff texted indicating that Molly was out of surgery and doing well. The surgery was closed neatly and healed very well. Molly the cat is still healthy and doing well.Cons: I made an appointment for Molly on 11-16-2023 and this hospital was not able to see her until 3-6-2024. I called twice to get an earlier appointment or perhaps be worked in on a cancellation. This was to no avail. Waiting over 3 months I find unsatisfactory for a spaying operation. I never got to see the Doctor that did the operation before or after the surgery. The lady told me that he was very busy and could not see me. I believe that every pet owner should have just 3 to 5 minutes to speak with any Doctor before and operation takes place on a loved pet. The Doctor that signed his name to the form was Dr. John Polnak, DVM.Summary: I would give them a high rating on the surgery that was done and the office personnel. I will not return to this hospital due to the lack of a basic communication between the Doctor and the owner of the pet. It makes me feel that my questions or input is something grievous or distasteful. I am however grateful for a successful outcome. Thanks.Lloyd D Yarbrough

I used this office when I lived in Walnut Cove. I've moved away, but it would definitely be worth the drive! Dr.McLeod is awesome! She was extremely compassionate, and that includes having to put two of our animals down. She CARES! I would recommend this practice to anyone who wants the BEST for their furbabies!!

This practice sees exotic animals which can be ducks and chickens. Dr. Hamilton is caring friendly and very easy to talk to. The staff are very knowledgeable kind and caring. I would rate them as the best. Also the front desk is efficient quick friendly and caring.

I took my two cats here to be spayed last week. This isn’t my normal vet, it’s the vet that partners with the Stokes County Shelter where I adopted my girls. I was very nervous dropping them off, but everyone was so kind from the beginning. Dropping off, the lady was very friendly and explained what would happen. Picking up, the tech sat down with me and went over everything in depth, answering all my questions. I’ve also called twice since then with more questions and both times the girls were very nice and helpful. Based on this experience I would recommend this vet.

The staff is very nice and professional. After I was desperately looking for a vet ASAP, that they could see a litter of 5 kittens that I've rescued on the weekend because two of them were very sick. After many,many,many call to vet clinics, they were the only one who were able to give me an appointment to the next day for all five!, which i very much appreciated. Unfortunately, since i rescued them on the weekend, one of them didn't make it. It's not the cheapest, but their prices are very reasonable, having in count that how ridiculous expensive are vets nowadays. Even to get an asap appointment is near impossible if it is not a current patient, not mention it for 5 at the same time. For that, thank you so much!

The only reason for one star is because I had to in order to write the review, But our experience with this place we “thought”was good the first visit we were told that our cat probably had an abscessed tooth so gave him an antibiotic which he felt some better his symptoms were swelling under his eye and trouble eating dry food! So on to the second visit we saw a different Dr. She acted like she didn’t even want to be there this time our cats eye was swollen on top this time and his hair was missing and he had scratches were he had been scratching it well she didn’t think it was swollen like I did shesaid it looked like another cat had scratched him but that was not it !On to the third visit after explaining all of our frustrations of dealing with this for so long our cats eye was swollen shut the Dr gave us an eye drop with steroids after 2 weeks he is not any better worse so I we started looking for a new Veterinarian what we should have done after first visit!!! Did not mean for this to be so long but our cats eye is in bad shape he has a ulcerated cornea we have been treating him for the last week took him back today and he wants him to see an ophthalmologist because of this going on SO LONG and NOT BEING TREATED and giving him an eye drop with steroids caused his eyelid and lashes to turn inwards now may have to have surgery to fix that!!! 😤😠😡🤬This is an update as of 11-8-23 my cat is having entropion surgery to remove part of his eyelid that has turned inward this an expensive surgery plus he still has the ulcerated cornea that was caused by this we are hoping that once this is fixed that his cornea will finally heal with time!This all could have been avoided if this place had of done their JOB!!

Dr. Polnak removed a mast cell tumor from my dog’s inner thigh last week, and did an AMAZING job. My dogs are my kids so I was very nervous for this experience, but he and the rest of the staff were all so patient and helpful. Happy to say that he got all of the tumor out with a great prognosis to follow. This picture is how great it looks just 7 days post surgery. I found this vet on my own after moving here last year, and couldn’t be happier they were my choice.

Glad to have found this vet! The front desk, vet techs, and veterinarian were really helpful! Our dog was sick—we were afraid she had eating something that was stuck. Turns out, based on her symptoms, she was just sick. They were non-invasive and helped us with a good, affordable path to recover for her! We’re newer to the area, and I think we’ve found our vet!

My wife has been bringing our cat here for a while. I decided to join her on the last visit. The staff was really nice and respectful. Good bedside manner from all staff. The vet was patient with the numerous questions I had about my cat. She seemed equally if not more concerned for my cat's well being. I am glad my wife brings our cat here and we will continue to do so.

Awesome staff! They really love and care about all the pets, and their owners, that come through the doors. They give all the furbabies the best possible care, and they even call to check up on them. I wouldn't trust my babies with anybody else!

We needed our female cat spayed. AHWH had a cancellation which fit our schedule better. They gave a reminder call the day before and after the procedure they call today it went well and pick up after 3pm. They did offer a couple of upsells which we agreed to. Very professional and helpful.

Our Baby Periwinkle was spayed here today. Staff was amazing very kind answered all of my questions. I had Alot being a Tech for 20 years. This is the first place I have trusted to do a surgery without me physically monitoring the patient myself. Dr Bendorf is amazing very kind and you can tell this job is her passion. Thank you for caring for our girl today and doing a amazing job with her.

I was always taught if you don't have anything nice to say, not to say anything.Well beloved Jack Russell mix of 13yo. had a swollen rr leg and I dropped her off. I never refused any service or test but was only asked an amount. So when I picked her up he said her left front had swollen while she was there. I was told she had an allergic reaction. She'd never been allergic to anything. But I gave her the meds he gave for a week.Took her back the next Wednesday, then was told she had a kidney infection and he gave me antibiotics. She only lasted till Friday evening.My bestest buddy died from a miss diagnosis. The previous year in Tennessee the vet told me she should live another 4 to 6 yrs.I wouldn't let them check the temp on my fold fish tank from here on out.Sorry for the bad review but she was completely fine a week prior to visiting there.

Phoned to get an appointment for a couple of kittens that were getting a cold. The receptionist explained the options they have for new patients to drop off and they would try to fit them in. After a brief conversation she asked me to wait while she spoke to the vet. She returned to the call and said that they had an appointment the next afternoon and that I could call back the next morning at. 7:30 to schedule it and not to leave a message but to continue to call if it was not answered. She said it would be $110 for the two kittens and to be prepared to pay that charge when I phoned the next morning. I thanked her and did exactly as I was told only to have a different receptionist answer and put me through a run around and then tell me that those appointments were only for their long established clients so that was not an option for me. I am appalled at the unprofessionalism as well as the callous attitude toward me and my pets’ needs. I am very disappointed.

We just had to make a hard decision to put down our beloved dog that we had for 16 years and their is 4 us who loved him and taken care of him since he was a puppy when we called the vet who had taken care of him since he was a puppy told us only 2 people could go in to say goodbye to him we called this place and they let all 4 us go into to say goodbye. The staff was very friendly and we liked the vet who put him down. We thank you form the bottom of our hearts.

We took our sweet foster pup here for a check up exam. Staff had a very well thought out process. Once you park, you call them, let them know the space you're in, they'll ask check in questions, and when its your baby's turn they will come get them from your car. Once the vet has evaluated, the vet will personally call you on the phone to let you know what's going on. Check out process is even done on the phone. Super safe and easy. And most importantly, the staff here is SUPER friendly and sweet.

My family has quite a few dogs, some old some young. I also have cats. The staff here is attentive, caring, and responsive. We have had the best luck with the staff and they treatment they provide our animals. As a pet owner I need to trust my veterinarian the same way I would trust my own doctor and this team provides that level of care for our sweet fur-babies.

I was very excited when I found this place. We got a second option form Dr Polnak and he is a very educated man who helped answer our questions. Our vet bill was reasonable as well.Our second visit was not the best, but the office staff were amazing and after some miscommunication the office manager was really great. You can always tell the true colors of a business when they handle things with dignity and grace.
