I haven't been in the store since before lockdown -- until tonight. I never fail to find something different and some little treasure, even though I don't collect things any more. I was happy to see that David is still there. He's tops. Sara sold me a Christmas tree and answered all of my questions in the nicest possible way. Even though I wasn't thrilled with the answer to one or two questions regarding store policy, she was tactful, pleasant, and simply a wonderful person to have behind the counter. I love the eclectic mix of all the stuff. A fun collection of "small shops".

Small shops is an amazing store and the staff has always been so friendly!! Each seller has different things, some big, some small, some odds and ends, but always adorable things!! The owners and staff are amazing and always makes everyone who walks through those doors feel welcome! I highly recommend going here!!!

This review is specifically aimed at the woman owner of small shops mall with blonde hair. Please understand this is essentially a flea market shop. Vendors pay rent to have the ability to sell there stuff here. The vendors I have met have been wonderful, the owner of this shop is consistently terrible. I was in the store shopping the other day and witnessed the owner being extremely rude and yelling at a woman employee. I witnessed what i think was the unjust firing of this employee. I frequent this shop and noticed the employee she was yelling at was newer. I also happened to noticed earlier this employee was working extremely hard. The entire time I was shopping she was engaging with customers, working the register, etc. She was eventually yelled at while she was up at the register area. I over heard a woman worker from the trade-it side with shoulder length dark hair, snap at her and tell her to get to work. This poor woman was working hard and maybe just by coincidence the woman from the trade it side happened to look and made an assumption that no work was being done. The dark haired woman went back next door and the employee did as she was told but I noticed she was crying as she worked. A little while later the owner came out screaming down the aisle at the employee, told her to clock out and fired her on the spot. Even went as far as to follow her out the door and say she would call the cops if she did not leave the parking lot immediately. The owner is absolutely terrible and so is that other woman from the trade-it side. The regular employees they hire are great, but seemingly are just micromanaged to death and eventually quit on their own or get fired for insane reasons. It is so unprofessional to yell at employees, never mind with no care of customers being in the store. This business is owned by a husband and wife who also own trade it. They are two peas in a pod. If you read reviews for trade it, they are pretty similar in regards to customer service. All that to say, I won’t be going back, which is a shame that all the wonderful vendors are going to lose my money becausen of the way their landlord treats THEIR customers.Edit: clearly what I said struck a chord. This was not a fake review or a scam post. I was not the only customer in the store at the time. Maybe others will also come forward and place a review. As the reply from, probably the owner says, I also encourage you to visit and you will quickly see just as I have explained if you have the misfortune of dealing with the blonde owner and the woman from trade it. Notice the events i mentioned weren’t even denied… they just tried to brush off and discredit my comments with some time span claim… There is not too much to this shop to be an “expert”. I entertained selling there and took home a application, but found the rules and rates to be obviously geared toward the owners benefit in any situation.

There are two 'customers' to Small Shops Mall. First there are those that come in and buy merchandise like a traditional retail environment. Then there are those, like myself, that are vendors. Small Shops provides us the service of not only space, but also the actual vending and cashiering of our goods. I've been a vendor for 5 or so years now, and I would not have been able to open my business Game Nook if it wasn't for the support of Small Shops and their staff. Thank you :)

Between regular 'vendor fairs', a veritable cornucopia of merchandise, and that I get to shop local, its hard to choose which reason I enjoy shopping at Small Shops more. Oh yeah. Theres also the Trade it! in the same building. A unique mall concept, and an experience that is hard to find anywhere else.

Smallshops Mall is a great store with fantastic merchandise for great prices!! I love the staff members and how nice the store always is. I would highly recommend anyone near Rocky Mount NC to go give this store a visit and enjoy!!

This place is really an one stop shop. Whatever you may need or want, they have it. If you like thrifting or just leisuring around until you see something you like then this is definitely the "go-to" place

Unprofessional and inconsiderate.FOUR (4) MONTHS LATER...The fact that it took you well over 4 whole months to respond to a potential vendor and customer says the most about your unprofessionalism and inconsiderate mannerisms. You never bothered to respond to the business venture, the phone calls or the emails previously sent so why should I bother emailing you now? Thank you, but NO thank you...

I love consignment Stores and this one tops the list. There is a great assortment of things from records to old telephones to an enemy section to still photographs and historical novels. I was a little upset that my time there was cut short by some people with me who were getting hungry but I would have liked to sift through everything in there one by one.

I have visited small shops several times and each time it has been the same. I live here in the area and each time I have gone inside there just is not much to look at, and seems to be the same stuff every time. There is some beautiful antique furniture but it's pretty high priced. Small Shops seems to be more like an inside yard sale of things no one really wants to buy or it's priced well above it's worth. If you are looking for random pieces that you may remember your grandmother having when you were a child it may be worth your time going and looking around.

A little bit of everything. Picked up a bunch of cd's dating back to the 80's and some homemade jam.They have everything from clothes, books, music, antiques, jewelery, cosmetics and perfumes, paint, electronics, specialty food items, and so much more. I would imagine if the vendors turned over often that you could find something new each time you shopped.Cashier was friendly and took the time to carefully wrap my breakables.

This one of the best local shops I've ever been to. They have a wide variety of stuff to purchase, prices are extremely great. Nice quiet atmosphere with very helpful employees that make you feel like family

A mix of some old, new, and thrift items.Not much in terms of period antiques, mid-century modern. Also, a lot of the space was available for booth rental, which seems to hurt interest, selection, and pricing in my humble opinion.At the time of my visit, some booths were selling multilevel marketing products.I will return to see about selection and if more vendors participate in this venue.This place is a great idea, and I hope vendors with more antique and vintage items will populate this venue.

Really cool idea for a store. It's basically multiple businesses under one roof. And the prices for a lot of the businesses are really good since it's local entrepreneurs. This is the kind of thing a small town like Rocky Mount should be supporting! Our favorite was a little used bookstore

I love the shops Red Carolina Crafts, Vinyl Creations by Deb and Fred's Bargins ❤ also theirs a great selection of classic hardback and paper back books at Pequod used books!!!! My two favorite books from the store are in the posted picture! The wear and tear adds on to the quality and importance of the book itself and the story. I love to read. Way to go SSM, and all of the businesses there!

Treasures abound at Small Shops. A local , friendly shopping experience where hidden inside all the variety of different shops, is always something special I find for myself or gifts for family members. Merchandise rotates frequently so every experience is unique.

There isn't much you can't find in SMALL SHOPS MARKETPLACE. I LOVE QVG SHOP in that Marketplace. Quality and Valuable Gifts are there.
