I am so very hurt and disappointed with the grooming services that I received from PBF. This was my first time coming in this groomers. I found them online. I dropped my Shichon (Shih Tzu & Bichon Frise mix), Shadow, off for his spring/summer cut. What was returned to me is something that did not even resemble my baby. Although he is brushed daily his hair still gets tangled and matted in some areas, however, not to the point where he deserved to be skinned beyond recognition. The groomer “texted” me to inform me that Shadow had some “extremely matted” areas which needed to be shaved. That is understandable, however, to shave him completely bald all over was nothing more than pure laziness and ridiculousness. The groomer owed it to me to call and discuss which me any extreme deviations outside of what was discussed. Shadow’s face was not matted. They could have at least groomed his face cute enough to go with this hideous scalping. Above all, they charged me $40 for detangling and dematting as if they went in phases when clearly they just went straight in with the clippers and cut off all his hair. This first impression will be my last visit.Update 28 April 2024The owner did text me and tried to tell me that Shadow was matted and shared some internet content on matting. As I stated in my messages, Shadow had a vet appointment a couple of days before the incident at Banfield. The staff can verify that he was NOT matted. I, additionally, stated that the staff should have called explained more thoroughly the situation, maybe send pics or call me in to view what was being proposed. Especially, since I was a new client. I should not find out all that was done to him when they are calling me to pick him up. Don’t try to “educate” me after the fact. If I had dropped a car off for services and additional things needed to be done I would have gotten a phone call to ensure that I understood what was going to happen. All I can hope is that the situation aids in upgrading your notification policy and procedures. Texts do not suffice when deviating from services that were expected to happen. Calls ensure understanding and minimize words getting lost in translation. Efficient and effect communication is essential. The situation is indeed handled. I aired my grievance and I will not be using your services again.

I have been going to PBF for about a year. Susan and her team have been the most loving and compassionate people i know. My dogs love to wait by the door for daycare to pick them up. Sometimes they will even sit there and cry waiting. PBF treats your pets as if they were theirs. I never have to worry about my dogs when they go to daycare. I love my dogs and i am particular about who watches them. However i never worry when they are at daycare. They also do an excellent job grooming my pets. I can not say enough about this place. Susan has even gone the extra mile for me so many times to make sure my pets were well taken care of. We love you PBF!!!The pictures below are the pups waiting on PBF to arrive!!!!

Thank you PBF for always taking great care of Winston! From what I can tell Winston likes the staff which speaks volumes as he is generally not a fan of the groomer. PBF can get very busy but I believe that is a testament of how many people trust PBF with their pets.Going into todays appointment I knew that Winston was going to need to be shaved down due to a few matts he had developed. I was completely fine with this as ultimately I want Winston to be comfortable & I trust PBF wouldn’t shave him if it wasn’t necessary. Thus far very pleased with our experience and Winston also thanks PBF!!

Great place to take your Doggo to stay over .. if you are going on trips or out of town.they does great grooming also and she love every doggo .that's she have she treat your doggo just like it was her's

I can assure you we will not be going back. Yes he may have had knots but laziness of the groomer and place a business occurred. She could have cut down his hair and then felt the knots or invited me to come and see how “bad it was”. We take care of Maui !!! WOW. I had no idea that so many people love their dogs as much as I love Maui. More and more that I am finding out about PBF, I know that I really will never go.Update: Jeff called the place of business Susan (the owner) was walking in the door per the worker and Jeff was placed on hold and held for 7 minutes and then Beth came back to talk to him. I hear that Susan gets her employees to do this quite often. The owner herself did not even want to talk with Jeff. That’s is lazy within itselfI have had other issues also but I have left them alone. Such has whipped cream in his fur, appointments being missed and other things.Maui loved Auntie Heather and she loved him. Now she no longer works at Pets Best Friend. I would love to know why. Heather what’s the best thing going for PBF?Maui has been a emotional support dog for me this past year as he is part of my family. You would never treat a child like this.Check oh my Facebook for more people stating how they were treatedOh it’s better. Just got a text fromPBF. Where she shared medical info about one of her old employees and did not even talk to me about what is happening with me and Maui!!!

I took my dog Walrus in for a bath and a nail trim, which both of these are normally a huge ordeal with her. The staff at Pet's Best Friend were great with Walrus and had nothing but nice things to say about her when we picked her up. Plus look at her spiffy bandana! The staff is super nice and I recommend taking your dog over to Pet's Best Friend.

Pet’s Best Friend is an awesome groomer and Doggie Daycare! I cannot say enough nice things about them! My boys Teddy and Vader love going there to get groomed and pampered! They have both been going since they were babies. They adore all the love and attention they get from all the staff! Even when we see anyone from PBF out in public, they always remember my babies and come and love on them! My boys love going to play at daycare as well! They are both usually exhausted when they come home from playing with their fur buddies. I also really like that they send pictures of the boys to me sometimes while they are there. I can tell they are having a great time and are being well taken care of. I never worry about them while they are there. They are in the best hands. 😊😍

Customer service at this facility has by far become the worst after 2yrs. Not only are they short staff but they do not follow up and do not respect people's time. This is the icing on the animal treat BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR YOUR ACTIONS OR LACK OF!!! It's inappropriate to lie about a customer's conduct because you failed to provide a service on more than one occasion and then make excuses especially when your receiving tips. It seems not to be alot of options in the area for Pet services so the customer is subjected to whatever in other words being taken advantage of. Our Pets are family and we expect the same respect when dealing with them. I read some of the other reviews and I find them hard to believe but again the options are few in the area so people accept nonsense and disrespect because of this well its UNACCEPTABLE!!! I Love NC but the customer service I've experienced since visiting there is unfortunately some of the worst!!! and this establishment falls right in line. Off to a more professional place we go with a better quality of customer service. Some say you get what you pay for well I am blessed that i can afford to pay for the best when it comes to my pets so Pets Best Friend Please Get It Together Have A Bless Day!!!!!!

I live out of town but when my Maltese (LG) and I drive in he is ready to jump out of the car and into the pool. He loves seeing and playing with his friends. He doesn’t hesitate when taken in for his bath and grooming. After a full day at Pet’s Best Friends on his way home he settles down for a nice snooze. Thank you Susan and crewfor handling Little Guy in such a loving way. Love the snap shots you take while he is playing and being groomed. I’m so glad to have been with PBF during their many years of growing to be the best there is. Blessings!!

Just took my baby for her first first big girl grooming. It was perfection. She is now a big girl with a beautiful cut. So happy with the experience and Molly seemed happy as well when i returned. Will definitely be returning. Thank you guys for a job well done.

I moved to North Carolina two years ago and have had a very difficult time finding a good groomer for my two dogs. I am so glad I found "The Pets Best Friend". My dog just got groomed and they left her beautiful! I can't wait to see what they're going to do with my precious Max! I am very happy with their services. I highly recommend them.

My dogs have been going to Susan for several years. Before she moved to her new location, and has her great new staff- sometimes the grooming took awhile- as they were SO busy!!! She has more staff now, and a great place for my dogs to visit. I have never seen any of her staff be abusive to a dog. My experience and observation shows that they love all of them, just like they would their own. I have tried other groomers-- you know, the grass i always greener-- but will not do so again. They treat my dogs the best, they listen to what I want- and do it- and my babies always look great when they are finished

My dogs love the staff at Pet’s Best Friend. We’ve known Susan and Van for over 15 years. They are like family. They treat our dogs like family! Anna Belle and Charlie visit once a month for their bath and grooming. They always come home looking so spiffy! We were super excited to learn they had expanded their services to offer boarding. My dogs love their nightly tuck in’s. So spoiled! I highly recommend Pet’s Best Friend. Wonderful people!! 🐶❤️

I have used Pets' Best Friend's pet-sitting service for years whenever I go out of town. I have 4 cats, including a very feisty one. They all love Susan when she comes over each day when I'm away. Thanks to her reliability and caring attitude, I know the cats will have plenty of attention, as well as food, water and clean litter boxes. It puts your mind at ease when you know your fur-babies are in good hands; she even will send cute photos of them to keep me posted. My cats said to give her 5 stars!

When I first started carrying my dog, Laika, to Pet's Best Friend for grooming she wasn't having it. She has separation anxiety and doesn't care for many other dogs. The staff warmed her up to them and although she still gets scared, she goes much more easily. I now live in Greenville and work in Wilson but will continue to make the trip to Rocky Mount because I don't think I could ever trust anyone else with her. Hands down best groomers around!!

My kids have been coming to see the wonderful people at pets best friend since they were 7 weeks old. And Susan Powell Baker is the best groomer in Rocky Mount. She is kind and gentle and truly loves my kids . I wouldn't let anyone else touch my kids but her .it's clean and just a wonderful place for all fur kids to go

1st time taking my little Yorkie here and they were fabulous! It was for two day overnite boarding and they were very attentive. I would give 5 stars but it was a bit challenging to get someone on the phone when calling. Had to call a number of times to get someone on the phone.

Our 2 dogs start barking with excitement before we turn into the parking lot. They love day care!! Ellen is their best friend. Susan also does a perfect job grooming our 2 when needed. We have also used them to pet sit when we had a late night event. We very highly recommend.

PBF staff ALWAYS responses to my pet's needs, and keeps me informed on ways to assist with him at home as well. They do excellent work on baths and groomings!!!! He is always so handsome when I pick him back up. We've also used their boarding service and we've been nothing but pleased with how well they take care of him and they are reasonably priced! LOVE US SOME PBF!!!!

They are so great! My dog loves going there every day, he gets so excited when we pull up and he's so worn out from playing all day that he falls asleep in the car as soon as I pick him up in the afternoon. The pricing is very fair, and they will even taxi your dog to and from everyday. The staff is great and very friendly - they even called to check up on my pup after he got out of surgery. Cannot recommend them enough!

Both of my dogs have loved doggie daycare from the first day they stepped inside the gate! They are both rescue dogs.... and both have interesting personalities. It can take quite a bit of time for them to warm up to people and they’re both scared of everyone. The staff at PBF has been incredible with them. They now perk up when we get in the car because they think they’re doing to daycare. If I say “daycare” at the house they both go wild. I know when they go to daycare they’re having fun and being taken care of. I love when I pick them up in the afternoons and they fall asleep on the care ride home. 100% worth it!!

I have taken my kiity babies to Pets Best Friend since moving to Rocky Mount in 2007. They greet you and your loved ones with smiles and open arms, Not only are they beautifully groomed every single time, I am always confident that my babies are in safe hands. Beth Smith has that special touch that calms and soothes my baby boy. I also use their pet sitting services several times a year, sometimes weeks at a time. I always know that Susan is there for all their needs plus lots of playtime...She even sends me pictures of my babies while I am gone. Love these guys and you will too!!!

You will not find a better group of people to care for your beloved furbabies. We have been clients from the beginning and have had wonderful experiences. I always remember the time Susan was pet sitting for us and went above and beyond in her love for our babies. We had a Sheltie and a mixed breed (this one was a rescue from Hurricane Floyd). They had lived in the same house for over 5 years. We were in the mountains for a long weekend, and late one night I received a call from Susan. She had gone for the late night potty break and upon entering our home, found our kitchen covered in blood. Our mixed breed had attacked our Sheltie and messed him up pretty bad. Susan took it upon herself to drive our baby to the all night emergency vet in Wilson. We threw our things in the car and headed home immediately. Thankfully our baby made a complete recovery, but we never left the two of them together again. Susan was a lifesaver that night and I will forever be thankful to her. She's come a long way since the beginning, adding many wonderful features to her business. Everyone that works at PBF is fantastic. I highly recommend them for the care of your precious furbabies!

We started using pets best friend this summer and were amazed at the quality of their services. The first night our dog stayed with them they sent updates via text message along with picture updates. Highly recommended!
