Food Lion use to be a 5 Star health food Grocery store. But today their prices are ridiculous. And they Don't seem to care about the American economy. But trying to keep up more With WALMART!

My 5 star rating is based on the best dang homemade banana pudding you can get anywhere. I live 2 counties away but when I’m back in my home town I always stop and grab their deli made banana pudding to take back home.

This rating is ONLY for today because they had upper management in store....any other time the only cashier that open has a line backed up damn near to the meat section and everybody's attitude is who cares about customers as long as they get paid for their time...NO URGENCY WHATSOEVER..unless its on their phone screen...on-site managers and employees as well...top down approach..but hey like someone else said it's the only grocery in the neighborhood...so they treat you like a pest comfortably because you have no choice

This place is the worst. Unfortunately it is the only grocery store in the area. Some of the cashiers are rude. The store, at certain times of the day, is a mess. There's a security guard who when I've been there does absolutely nothing but converse with the cashiers who supposed to be working. Again, unfortunately, this is the only grocery store in the area and I believe the employees know it so they treat the customers any kind of way.

This store has gone to s**t. The customer service is non existence. Can never use money services when you open because employees have not "started it yet". I live just blocks away yet I drive to 97 or Goldrock rd to shop.Update! Nothing EVER WORKS! The phones, the money order machine, the employees... Just shut it down.ANOTHER UPDATE! 3 weeks later and here we are again....can't get any help with money orders.

Some workers here are great but others don't know what customer service is and it seems like they are doing the checkout most of the time. I, as the customer, shouldn't have to greet the checkout person and when I thank them and tell them to have a nice day I should get a response.I've had better interactions with the stockers than the checkout people.The store is dated and a little crowded but clean with a decent selection.

It's always a good experience going into this store. It's always clean and well stocked. Produce is always beautifully displayed. Staff is friendly. It has alot of management and employees that have been there a long time and they are the best. If I did have a complaint it would be the meat prices. They have gotten ridiculous.

The cashier was very polite, friendly and helpful. Even the other customers were friendly. The cashier loaded my bags into my cart and told me to have a good evening. I love shopping at Food Lion.

I do my home shopping here, but today I went for 2 of my patients who wanted Pepsi products that were on sale. As I get to the register with 20 6 packs of drinks 10 for each person the cashier looks at my rudely and stares “you know there’s a limit right”. I said no I didn’t know it’s not posted in the store. She proceeds to go ask the manager to confirm and comes back and tells me I can’t purchase that many drinks. I said ok all pay for one person and come back in and get the others. She said she wouldn’t sell them to me. I ask for the manager to come over and explain to me why the limit was not posted in the store. She said it’s in the paper!! She also brought more employees and an officer with her like I was going to start a riot!! So now I have 2 elderly patients with no drinks and you and your employee’s humiliated me!! NEVER GOING BACK TO THIS STORE EVER!!

I luv my neighborhood Food Lion. The day manager wears a flower in her hair every day and always has a smile on her face. The staff is always helpful and the store brand products are actually very good. And the deli... scrumptious 😁

I work here. Yes some of us are smile talk and helpful friendly. But some of management is not. I really wish I was at another store sharing my meat department skills with another set of people.i work hard and get told I'm not at the my best etc. Behind the scenes... I we all smiling but underneath we are truly fade up.

Employees don't want to work. Cashiers won't turn their light on so you can't tell which line is open and they have attitudes. The line I went thru the girl don't have a mask on and coughing hysterically.

Hunter Hill Food Lion cashier are usually very nice and they try to keep the lines low so check out is quick. And if anyone is working in the aisle they make sure they are not in the way and they always speak. Very courteous and I like that.

The location is clean and has a good selection of most items. There are a few Indian sauces that you can only find here or at Harris Teeter.They have a deli and small bakery and most items are pretty good and fresh.This location has pretty good sales, but you will need an mvp card to get them. There is also a coupon kiosk be at the entrance for card members.Checkout time can be long, especially during certain times of the month, and there is no self checkout.All in all, it's a good place to shop.

Friendly employees makes the store a success in an area where many businesses fail. The store was recently remodeled giving it a clean and updated look. The Store needs more greenery in the parking lot and possibly potted plants at the front of the building. The parking lot needs to be redesigned to incorporate trees.

I contacted this foodlion on or around March 2nd-3rd to place a cake order for March 19th with a pickup time of 10:30am. They called me to confirm around the 16th of March which I confirmed everything with them. On March 19th , ( the morning of my son’s celebration) Foodlion called me around 11:00am asking if I could come pick the cake up at 1:00pm. I asked had they already made the cake and she said no!! So I told her don’t worry about it & I picked up a premade cake from Walmart.... What’s the point of placing a in advance cake order if you not even going to have the cake ready when it’s supposed to be ready. I will never place a order here again. I usually go to Walmart anyway but since I just moved to this side of town , I decided it would be less hassle to drive across town but from here on out , I’ll drive across town no questions asked to make sure my children have the birthday cake that I ordered.

Not being a stick in the mud not for one as many f l as I go to I know what things cost I worked at a grocery store before and they were higher than slot of the ones I've been in and two now don't get wrong it wasn't real busy in there but that can change at a snap of my fingers I've seen it there was no one on the floor doing anything

There is always a horrible wait because there is 1 cashire most of the time. Prices going up and customer service is way down. Stopped going to this location due to the inconvenience. Produce leaves a lot to be desired. Meats don't look fresh.

love my neighbor store but today the young man working the meat dept. didn't grind 97% fat free hamburg which was on sale but instead gave me some 73% hamburg and I didn't know till I cooked it and the pan was full of grease; really mad since I paid for the good hamburg.

I don't who gave this store 4.5 stars but you know this store is trash this the only store I know that well literally have 80 customers and three registers open oh nevermind two cause somebody gone say this my last customer Food Lion I don't know what y'all need to do stop doing drug screens something so y'all can get some workers in their and yeah this store don't ever have nothing no way and this was way before the pandemic so to add bad service on top of that it's not even worth wasting your time or money to go there

Normally I have been VERY impressed with the Up-grades in our store... Finally someone had noticed that Edgecombe county only has this 1 {chain} grocery store. So it has been cleaned up and it has people in it that wants to work and take pride in their workplace. **I called earlier today to get a cake & cupcakes, my son needed for a activity. I Explained that I needed part today other Friday. I also told her that it had to be a Yellow cake. I am unable to drive and that is why I called because someone else had to pick it up. My son got the cake but it was NOT anyellow cake, I understand completely that anyone can make a mistake but when I called back the person who answered informed me she was in bakery and that she pulled the cake for me but that she knew NOTHING about it having to be yellow... Funny because when I checked my voicemail I had a message from Food Lion telling me that all she had was Chocolate and that they hadn’t noticed before ..... Oh Well!!!
