This campground was absolutely fantastic. The owner was very nice and helpful. We road in from Powhatan Va. It was raining cold and they were calling for snow the next morning. Our plan was to stay in tents for the night. The owner allowed us to stay in the bunkhouse for the night. So if you are looking for a place to stay along the Dragon. This is the place.

We had a wonderful time staying the weekend. Our group was spread out among three cabins, and we all loved our stay. Alan the owner was funny and greeted us as soon as we pulled into the property. He made sure we were well taken care of the entire time. The grounds themselves are well taken care of, and there's plenty of amenities and helpful resources at the main cabin. We loved our stay and will absolutely be coming back next year.

I just got home from staying at Simple Life for a week. This was my second stay there, and the host Alan was amazing. He's willing to do whatever he needs to make you comfortable and feel at home. Alan has worked hard to build his dream here, and it shows in his enthusiasm and commitment to his guests.I stayed in the Dragon's Lair cabin, which was very comfortable and had everything I needed to make my stay comfy. The view of the rest of the campground from the cabin was spectacular, as it's nestled high up. The ride up the hill to the cabin was daunting at first look, but once I did it, it wasn't a big deal.The campground is conveniently located just outside of town, and anything you need that Alan can't provide can be found after a 5 minute drive into town.I will definitely be back to stay at Simple Life again.

My girlfriend and I stayed for a little under a week. You will find your host, Allen, to be both knowledgeable and helpful.Cannot recommend staying here enough, it is 1/4 the price and 4x as nice. Very quiet and calm area, not a biker party ground. Minutes for the Dragon, this is the spot to stop for rest, if available.Depending on the room and length of stay, you will need a cooler or ice chest.Noteworthy details: Motorcycle specific parking, and a very helpful pair of maps at the lobby.

We had a great four night stay in the dragon's lair cabin, was in town to ride the tail of the Dragon. Allen the owner is very knowledgeable of the area and attentive to helping you with anything you need including unload and loading your bike. He has a large custom map on the wall of his store of all the rides available in the area. Added bonus ,has his own honey for sale that's made on premises! Would definitely go back if we're in the area again!

Always my first choice for lodging when visiting the Smokys with my motorcycle. Alan has always been an amazing host and does a fantastic job keeping up with the property. The cabins are always clean, comfortable, and have wifi. The bathhouse is always clean with readily hot water, and he has dedicated covered motorcycle parking.You can't beat the location either! Right outside Robbinsville, so you're around the corner from gas, food, and coffee. You're also near some of the best roads to ride from the Cherohala Skyway, Wayah Road, the Tail of the Dragon, Moonshiner 28, and the Foothills Parkway. 10/10 would recommend.

Stayed over Memorial Day weekend and the place was excellent. Alan is a great host and the facilities were clean and orderly. Firewood and ice are available on premises and for those of you that ride in, and stay in one of the cabins without a kitchen/fridge, he has foam coolers you can use for the weekend. Awesome all around and we will be back! Pics are from the Colt cabin and the shared covered parking!

We would highly recommend staying here on your visit for the tail of the dragon. Allen, the owner, is very accommodating and a super nice guy. He assisted us in unloading our motorcycles out of our pickup truck. We stayed in the eagle's nest, it's a very nice cabin & well maintained.Thank you, Allen, for all your assistance and for making us feel welcome. See you next year. Stayed from June 5-10 2023. Alan definitely enjoys what he is doing here and it shows. Everything is clean and well taken care of. We showed up with no reservations and Alan worked with us to make the stay possible. On Friday we were a little late to get out to riding and Allan stopped in to see if there was a problem and took the time to help us put a fantastic day ride together. We will be staying here the next time we come to ride the area.

This is THE place to stay if you are planning a motorcycle trip to the Smoky Mountains to ride all those great roads (Tail of the Dragon, Cherohala Skyway, etc.). This is a great place to relax after a day of riding with comfortable beds, a clean and easily accessible bathhouse (if you opt to get a bathroom less cabin), and a great place to meet likeminded riders. A super affordable place that is close to everything, and the owner was a tremendous help with any issues I had and just overall friendly and good to chat with. Plenty of covered parking too. Can't wait to plan my next trip there!Rooms: Surprisingly comfortable beds and very clean.Nearby activities: Lots of food options nearby, just keep in mind that most of the sit-down restaurants in the area close by 9 p.m.Food & drinks: Snacks available at the main office as well as honey sourced right there at among the cabins.Noteworthy details: Firewood is available on site as well as ice.

Great little spot and super accommodating for motorcycles. Paved surface the whole way and multiple covered areas for parking. Allan is a fantastic host. You can tell he takes great pride in this place. He’s a wealth of local knowledge and will give great advice for rides and places to stop.Cannot recommend more. If you’re riding the area, stay here.

I’ve been coming to the tail of the dragon for a few years and I just recently discovered this place. Allen the owner was very welcoming and made sure we had everything we need. The cabin and the community bathroom was very clean. Great location, close enough to town to easily make supply runs and far enough away to have nice quiet campsites. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

I can't on one of campsites was supposed to be for a weeks but didn't need to stay that long. But the 5 days I was there it was peaceful good people around. And most of all the customer service was outstanding. You can tell the owner of the property loved what he does very good people person very kind and generous. My car broke down and could not get a part till the next morning and the owner of the property took me to the auto parts store the next morning which was very appreciated. Thank you again for your help and kindness.Safety: You feel vary safe and secure and respected and appreciated. All guest were respectful and kind.

Simple life is a great place to stay located right next to some of the best motorcycle roads in the country. It is inexpensive, quiet, well maintained, and the owner cares about each and every guest. He will always go above and beyond to help and make sure you are comfortable while you stay. Regardless if you are a rider, hiker, or just passing this is the best place to stay in the area. Give them a call and go visit for a bit!

I've been traveling to this area a couple times a year since 2015 for car meets at Tail of the Dragon. I have stayed in various venues over that time, but around 3 years ago I made a last minute decision to attend an event and my usual places were booked, leading to my discovering Simple Life. I am very glad that happened, because Simple Life has become our go to place to stay in the area. The small cabins are perfect for a weekend of driving and sight seeing in the mountains. Everything you need and nothing you don't. We stay in the larger cabins and they all have very nice decks with fire pits. The perfect place to sit around the fire, have a beverage and commiserate on a good day of driving. The best part of Simple Life is that it feels like you are out in the woods, but you are only a couple minutes from town, so any needs are easily met, but you have a quiet campground in the woods feeling. The other great part is the proprietor, Alan. He is an excellent host and always makes us feel welcome. Since finding this resort, I've come back with my family and friends twice a year like clockwork, and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

This place is fantastic. My 1st visit and I will be back again and again. The Owner keeps this place perfect. The people I met her are fantastic. Every single one of them. Just outside if town. Wow, we found what seemed to be the last available room in the Robbinsville area for a night. I was pleasantly surprised. The "cabins" are improved storage rooms insulated, powered, with nice interior finishes. ( some are much bigger than others!) The one we were in (Wolf's Den) didn't have plumbing but hey it was cheap so we weren't complaining! The bed was super comfy. The heater was thermostatically controlled and plenty for the small room. They also have A/C but we didn't use it. The bathhouse was clean and not too far away.I really want to compliment the owner, Alan. He seems to be a very gracious, humble fellow that really cares about his guests. He wants a place folk can come to to relax, sleep and maybe even make some friends around a campfire. This is NOT a party all night biker campground. It IS a biker campground just very peaceful and quiet. We slept better here than we often do at home!The office has firewood, coffee and other essentials. Alan jars his own honey and has apple butter as well!

The setup is extremely motorcycle friendly. It’s close to everything you need. We will 100% return here when we come to NC. SUPER HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Support a small business like this.
