Excellent service. We couldn’t find a room anywhere for miles due to an event going on. Found this motel online at 10pm, called, and they kept the office open an extra hour for us to arrive so we could have a room for the night. Not only that, but the lady that stayed the extra hour also went to our room and turned the lights on for our arrival. The price was excellent, too, at $85 for a king. We were so grateful for the amazing service she gave us. :)

Never again. Something about this place just doesn't add up. It's the middle of summer, yet the pool had not been cleaned & was shut down. There were no customers in the restaurant on a Saturday night, Friday I only saw one table occupied. Met the lady to check in, she never said welcome, have a nice night, etc. Saw only one server. No cell service. The lady made an emergency call for me on her landline--much appreciated. There was no soap, Kleenex, or hair dryer in the room. It was not shabby-chic, just ragged-shabby. Baseboards dirty in bathroom, limited hot water, the smallest toilet seat I've ever seen. First night I saw 4 other rooms occupied, Sat night only ours. The mattress was old and springy. The towels seemed crisp and brand new. To turn on lamp in corner, you re-screw the light bulb back in. Loosen it to turn it off. I honestly wondered if it was a front for something.

You asked to as why my review rating is a poor. Well let's start with checking in. Go to office doors locked hung around there for about 15 minutes. Then walked over to this restaurant that's part of the hotel My friend and I stood there for a couple minutes while a woman and some employees behind the desk at the restaurant completely ignored us. So I finally asked where am I to go and who to talk to you about getting into my room that I had reserved the night before. Short dark-haired woman with glasses immediately came at me sideways about something being late checking into my room it was around 7:00 but had family issues I had to take care of I apologize I said. Then my friend and I mentioned something about getting something to eat she told me not to come back for a couple more hours they were too busy. Wow. Okay. Finally get to my room open it up and it smells as if no one had been in that room for days if not weeks one of the worst musty smells I've ever smelled in my life. My friend did not want to stay we had no other option. Good thing I had a full can of microban! After leaving the door open and airing it out approximately 45 to 60 minutes the smell was finally knocked down quite a bit. Since we had had a long day we were ready for bed. But prior to that I took a shower once getting out my roommate pointed out a few things in the room actually quite a few things in the room we counted over 23 spiders in all. Needless to say neither one of us slept that night. But if you're okay with multiple different species of spider than not a bad place to go. And if you have a major head cold you should be okay with the smell other than that it was great!

I did not personally stay here but listed this place as where to stay for my wedding. Many many things lead me to leaving this poor review. First, when I called the owner to see how many rooms were booked for my wedding I was told they were too busy to speak with me and you call back in a week by a very snarky lady. One of my guests called the front desk to ask for an iron and was told they should have ironed before they came... other guests booked a room with hot tub that was cracked and didn't work. Old, dirty, and hateful staff/owner. I tried to keep small business at heart but this place was a huge mistake.

Our room was clean, everything worked. The beds were comfortable and cable tv for the kids. The host and all her staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. Our room had a view overlooking a beautiful golf course with an old white country church up on the hill. A great advantage at this property is the restaurant steps from the room. Don't miss Nikolas. My filet mignon was cooked exactly as I ordered, tender and tasty. After a day exploring stone mountain state park, High Meadows Inn was better than home. The best review I can give is that I will be visiting again.

Our first and only visit. The lady at the office must be having a bad day. We have 2 standard poodles. Well behaved and groomed with house manners. When I made the reservation I was told the room was updated. Well- the carpet was worn out and the room was disappointing to say the least. I did have to ask for the refrigerator in our room we were expecting. The room was outdated and worn out. We don’t go out to eat because of the boys with us. Pups. She was so curt and impatient to the point of being unfriendly and I don’t know why. I was nice, please and thank you. I try to give people the benefit of a doubt. You never know what’s happening. But — it didn’t change all weekend. Glad I only paid for two nights. She even snapped at me when I brought the housekeeper our towels to exchange, she was beside our room and we were leaving for the day. She said we will get there when we do. I didn’t want her to get there. I just needed to get two clean towels. No maid service. I love the area but will find another place.

My husband and I needed a place close to the Stone Mountain State Park area so I booked a room at High Meadows Inn. I booked an upgraded king room and it was everything we needed for our one night stay. The property is older but everything was clean and comfortable. We ate dinner at the restaurant on site (Nikolas) and it was an excellent dinner experience. We will definitely be returning! Thank you!

Great location for Stone Mountain State Park and Blue Ridge Parkway access. The buildings look run down and the beds are uncomfortable. But the rooms seem clean and they do allow dogs in some rooms. Ok overall for an inexpensive room.

Quiet, comfortable, clean room. Our room had vaulted ceilings that helped to create an open spacious room. One of the most peaceful motels I have ever visited. Located next to Stone Mountain. My wife and I hiked all day, checked in, relaxed awhile and had wonderful dinner at Nikola's Restaurant.Very good steak! Wife had perfect trout! We hope to visit again soon!

Extremely nice people. We had a very pleasant experience. Tornado warnings and being on a motorcycle landed us at High Meadows Inn. The restaurant happened to be closed for the day, but the owner made us lasagna dinners so we did not have to take the bike out in the severe weather. Room was nice and comfortable. Highly Recommend :-)

If you're looking for 5 star accommodations, look elsewhere. If you want a budget friendly roadside motel, you've come to the right place. The owner was very friendly, the rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. My group of 8 guys on a golf trip got rained out Saturday and we were allowed to check in very early which allowed us to unpack and plan what we were going to do with the rest of our day. Fortunately we were able to find another course just down the road that was open for play. Also, if you're in the area at supper time, I recommend you visit Nikolas Restaurant. I had the ribeye and it was cooked to perfection. Others in my group also had steak (ribeyes and filet's) and they said the same thing. Two others said the lasagna was delicious. My steak came with some kind of (fried?) new potatoes that were fantastic.

Food was awful. Such high hopes too. 1 dish was gnocchi, the other was fish and the gnocchi was practically moosh and the Alfredo sauce was tasteless, the fish was practically rubber. Actually had to use a knife to cut it. Would not recommend.

Nikola 's restaurant that is attached has great food and owners are really nice. They have pet friendly rooms, but they were a bit musty. I brought my febreeze and survived the stay, but think it is a cleaning staff issue. The beds and linens looked clean, but bathroom and floors were below par.

Great room! Husband and I had a get away day and spent the night here at the High Meadows Inn. Sadly we had take out on the ride or we would have sampled the cuisine at Nikola 's while we were there as well. Planning on a return trip soon.

Overall nice. This place is very interesting. One can easily see that it is an older place, and seems a little off the beaten path. That works great for me. It is conveniently located very close to Stone Mountain State Park, within a few miles of the Blue Ridge Parkway, and plenty close enough to Sparta in my opinion. I personally thought that it was just about right for the trip that my wife and I were on. Nikola's, the restaurant, was nice as well. It appears that they have music regularly on Saturdays. Overall, I would stay here again. I recommend that if you're looking for the Super8 or EconoLodge, take your business there. That isn't what this place is trying to be.

I read some reviews stating rooms need updating and no wifi and tv is old. I got a little lost on the Blue Ridge Parkway because a portion of it was closed and no signal on the road. This place appeared right when I was about top lose it. I pulled in with my dog and the lady bent over backwards for me. Offered her desk phone when I mentioned I lost my signal and family was probably worried. She ran ahead of me to turn on the heat although I said it was no problem. Wifi works just fine with the password and yes the TV is small. If you want a big screen plasma HD yeah you'll be disappointed. Water warm in the shower. This place reminds me of a time when people were more patient. When you had to think about where you knew that actor from instead of IMDBing it right away. Some one else reviewed "not close to anything." How is that the owners fault? Did you come to the Blue Ridge Parkway because you heard they had a great mall?I came to see the country and meet some nice, friendly people that look you in the eye instead of glancing up from their screens for half a second. Mission accomplished.

Great place to stay filet mignon cooked to perfection!!! It's close to Stone Mountain and a golf course on property along with the gas station/ gift shop within walking distance. The price is right and I'm planning on a return trip in a couple of weeks. Definitely worth the 7 hour drive.

This place was a nightmare. When we checked in, the lady at the desk ran my card for the wrong amount and although she voided it, I was without the $100 she mischarged me for our trip because it takes 3 business days for it to repost in my account. I overlooked the dated exterior, and even the cob webs as we entered the room. We found large wolf spiders in the tub, and there were cobwebs in all corners of the room. Several of the towels looked like they hadn't been removed from the room to be washed and had simply been left rolled up through several guests. We got the king suit with the jacuzzi tub, and the jets sprayed all over the wall when we turned them on. Also there was a carbon monoxide detector that was beeping low battery and instead of replacing the battery, the owner told us just to unplug it. When we told her we felt safer with it in the room she said she didn't have any extra batteries for it. She told us we were welcome to take our business elsewhere, but that they didn't give refunds. The contenintal breakfast is a joke, the yogurt on it was left out from the night before. It wasn't worth our time or money.

This had to be one of the worst experiences I have had in a many years of staying at motels. I have stayed weeks at motels when traveling for work from Wilmington NC to Murphy NC from Myrtle Beach to Rocky Mount VA but this rates as the worst. We checked in only to find that the room was beautiful but in need of updating. No microwave or fridge. All other motels have free calling within the USA but you could not use the phone for anything other than local calls unless you had a phone card, They say they have WiFi but we could not sign onto the internet on my Kindle Fire or my husband's laptop and spent 2 hours attempting. There was no help whatsoever and the office was NOT open 75% of the time and no one in the office. We had a coffee pot but no coffee so we could make coffee and no one in the office to get coffee from. The lady told us she had breakfast in the mornings but when we left at 7 AM the next morning we had to drop the key in a box. There was no one to talk to and the TV looks like a throw back ot the 1970s. Now one last thing....unless you like sleeping on one of the hardest beds I have ever had the misfortune to lie on. I slept a total of 4 hours off and on....try another motel. They did not show any concern for comfort or for how to treat a customer. For golfing and just hanging out it might be okay for others but we will never stay there again! I feel like 70 dollars per night was way overpriced and maybe 35 would have been a better rate for NOTHING.....There were only 5 other cars in the parking lot for the night!

8 of us drove from just outside Toronto to Myrtle Beach for a week of golf and decided to stop on the way to play Olde Beau (GREAT golf course) which is directly across the street from this motel. If you're looking for luxury you won't find it here. What you will find is a clean, comfortable room at a reasonable price and great food. You may have to wait for it a little longer than you're used to, depends on how many came in that night :-), but it is great food. I think the secret to staying here is - slow down !There is no wifi and no cell phone service (which means no cell phone calls, no texting, no internet - do you remember when that was the norm ? :-) ), some of the TVs have to 'warm-up' (do you remember when TVs did that ? :-) ) and it is in the middle of a quiet, peaceful nowhere which, for us, was perfect. We'll be back this October.

I dont write alot of reviews and I feel bad for this one because she is just an old lady trying to make a living. I will just tell it like it is. Light switch at the door didnt turn on the light had to find it in the dark. Got poked in the foot with a tack strip that holds the carpet down in the center of the room. The drain on the shower was clogged drained very slow. Door does not lock. Only the old school chain lock to lock the door. Potatoe chips on the floor. I put a tshirt over the pillow and slept on top of the blankets to get me through the night.

Overall a decent stay. Beds were clearly old but not terribly uncomfortable. Would consider staying again if the price is right.
