Bargain land offers a great variety of products! If you can’t find it there, ask the owner Dean or his dedicated associate Amber who I always see smiling. He might already have it or can find it! Great deals on everything you need while fishing for sure. He has every kind of live bait from worms, fish, crickets, eels of different sizes and varieties. Have a freshwater tank, pond, saltwater tank… he can get whatever you need for that! I get all my saltwater fish and supplies from him! Need live reptile food? Need a bird? Bird cage? Need help setting up a freshwater or saltwater tank? Do you hunt? He has a wide variety of ammo! You will even find collectibles in there! Perhaps a vintage Barbie, or an action figure from a movie you watched in the 90’s, or perhaps a mounted dinosaur head! Definitely worth a trip and ask if you are looking for something particular! Just stop in and look around… It’s a neat store to shop or just browse… I tell him he has some hidden treasures in there! Find yours!

This place has been dirty nasty for years. Why doesn't someone do something? I don't live in Roanoke Rapids but each time I had hoped it was better.They absolutely should Not be allowed to house any living thing their, especially birds!!

By far one of the most unique places to stop in the area. Went in to look at new fishing poles and Dean helped us with all of our fishing needs including setting up our poles for our individual preferences. He is incredibly knowledgeable and you can get everything you need there. Dean also went above and beyond to make our honeymoon memorable and special.

Fantastic owner. Nice and very helpful from day one when we went there for the first time. Better fishing inventory than Walmart and even Dunns sports store. But the best thing in my opinion is the customer service there. They know about the stuff they sell and will spend as much time as it takes to help you buy what you need. This place rocks.

My bf went inside here and raved about how nice the gentleman is who helped him! This is the first time we have stopped here, and I’m so glad we did! They have a variety of things, and he came out with everything we needed. I know of other people who come here, and this place is amazing!!

Hey folks for ANY of your pet needs from dogs, cats to exotic pets go visit Dean and his staff. They are beyond knowledgeable of most pets and problems. It is good by to have a family store to support rather than the big box store. Dean has helped me many times with my exotic snakes from food issues to medical issues. His placed is well stocked with all fishing and bait supplies and can get you many hard to find items. These folks are A+++. Be keep up the good work.

Awesome store if you have aquarium needs! Been there countless times since they have better deals. Plus it's like a treasure hunt there. I was helped by the owner couple weeks back and he recommended a uv filter that has fix my issue. The are also 2 gals that always help me out when I need a particular item.Helpful owner, knowledgeable staff, and a variety of hidden treasures, I definitely recommend stopping by here!

I have been shopping at this store for a couple of years buying fish and all the necessary aquarium related products. Recently, I upgraded my Oscar fish to a bigger tank and my experience was stressful and extremely unprofessional. The owner Dean quoted me a price for a different product than what he sold me. I was also overcharged on the tax (almost 11%). It makes me wonder about all my past purchases that I assumed to be a good deal by paying cash. I confronted him about my concerns and he was rude... there were too many mistakes for the errors to be unintentional. Pay close attention to your $ spent in this store. The only positive about Bargain Land is Brandy.EDIT after response from owner-Thank goodness there are other options available because this is inexcusable. When there is an overcharge after an agreed upon price... that is bad business period. I can not believe what I just read in the owner's response! Total untruthful statement about providing help to unload and setup at my house WOW just a shame! I am thrilled to suggest other stores in this review like Aquarium Outfitters in NC and Skoolz of Fish in VA. I had great experiences at both places with friendly, professional service. I always try to do business in my hometown, but this experience and store stinks!

I've been in here 20 times the past few weeks between getting angel fish and supplies. I've had a hard time keeping them alive besides 1. I found the issue with the first 2,,as my giant danio is being aggressive and gave them lacerations on their tail fins and it caused an infection which lead to death. I bought 2 more and 1 of those died and me and the employee dont know what's going on. My water parameters are near perfect, I use RO/DI water with equilibrium mineral restoration. Ive come in to get different materials needed to help with my aquarium maintenance and theyve had everything I've needed. The lady has answered all of my questions, tested my water to help find out the problem which came to be none with water parameters. ph is 6.8, gh is 5 dkh°. Temperature is 79 degrees. Everything else is 0. Aside from all of that, bargain land is a great store for ALL of your pets needs. From fish to birds to reptiles and I'm sure everything between. The people here are very respectful, they help you with what you need help with, they answer your questions without hesitation. I highly recommend visiting bargain land for any questions or supplies concerning your pets. Well deserved 5 star rating.

It was a guy there helping me choose what kind of fish was best for my tank setup and school me on every question I had, and I had every bit of about 15-20questions on how to care and maintain my aquarium. It’s my first time owning one. He was a great help and never got agitated with the million questions and repeating them, it took me maybe 30-45 minutes to choose 3 fish and he was there every step of the way. I really recommend these people.

What a wonderful experience! Top notch customer service which is difficult to find these days. Dean and his staff genuinely care about their customers and provide solutions to your needs. They stock everything you need and everything you forgot you needed. One stop shop! Niblet adds an extra little special touch to round out the experience. Man let me tell you!! I wanted to start a fish tank… he helped me start it and get set up… he answered all my questions and provided the best customer service yet… I brought 7 fish and a tank .. beautiful set up… I go by every other week to get things for my tank .. he actually cares that you get the best service ever… I’d recommend these good folks to anyone seeking a fish and other pets.. Dean went out of his way to ensure we got our boat trailer safely to a repair location. We broke down in front of his store. We were very blessed to have our problem happen where it did. Had to use cash only today cause the machine was down, but it's a really cool place with alot of unique items. Excellent for finding fishing stuff too! The store was a little messy, but had a really old fashioned and genuine feel. I will definitely go back if I need more fishing stuff.

I love this place! You can find some nice treasures here and customer service was great! They had fish supplies and reptile supplies that were unique and I needed. I bought a nice log for my bearded dragons tank.

We have been getting our fishing worms here for years and hooks and weights. Dean is great. We were going all the way to Petersburg for number 10 hooks because nobody in town sold them and told Dean, few days later he had them in stock. All his employees are friendly as well.

Went the first time with my kids super packed not sure what all it even is BUT the porcupine they have makes up for anything negative you could ever say about the store we also bought some fish and little tank crabs all still alive! So we loved our experience ☺️
