I recently brought a male cat here. He is in need of adoption and they said he is being taken to the vet. He has an injury on his nose, but once that is resolved then I hope someone can adopt him.FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO ADOPT A CAT, TAKE A LOOK AT THIS ONE WHEN YOU GO.He is a sweat baby and loves rubs and scratches.

I called this agency and explained the situation I am experiencing in my neighborhood with some puppies whose mother was killed before they were weaned. They are now 6 months and I expressed that I had been putting food out as a humane gesture because I didn't want to see them go hungry and had interacted with them and they were very social and NOT aggressive. Instead of offering any type of assistance or information I could use to get them adopted (other than call rescues), they began to tell me how I could be cited for putting out food and that if I had fed them for 10 days the law says they are mine. Animal services is NOT a service at all!

While I am all about rescuing and saving animals that need homes, I would HIGHLY suggest NOT adopting a cat from this place. My mom adopted a cat and 2 days later he was foaming at the mouth and could barely breathe. Took him to the ER, they expected he had an obstruction. He didn’t. Large bill for nothing. Brought him back to my house to take him to the primary vet the next morning to find out he had an upper respiratory infection. While at my house, spread the infection to my 2 cats. Between my mom and I, we’ve spent over $1000 trying to keep these 3 cats alive. Upper respiratory infection is HIGHLY contagious in cats. They could have at least offered to give her back the adoption fee but they didn’t. Someone needs to heavily sanitize this place!!! You’re better off adopting a kitten or cat from Craigslist!!!! Negative 10 stars!!!

NO help whatsoever. Officers translate laws using their own opinions and ridiculous requirements if you need help. A rooster in my neighborhood has more rights that me and my husband despite being an obvious noise violation. They complain they are overworked and have no budget but that would not be the case if they did their jobs and issued citations when applicable. Worst experience ever dealing with them. Officer made up rules as she went along to avoid doing the job she's paid for. This agency needs to be completely revamped with a new director who cares about the citizens in randolph county and will make his staff do their jobs.

We adopted our Wiley from here. I had never adopted before and was nervous but they made the whole process quick and easy. They even included all kinds of supplies and toys for him. If I adopt again, I would go here. (Update: Bringing Wiley into our home was the best decision we ever made!! This guy is so loved but more importantly, has brought so much love to us! Thank you RCAC!)

Well it's difficult to figure out how to rate this place. I mean, it's extremely tragic that this is a kill shelter and animals die here because of selfish people who breed and dump their pets. I'm giving this place a good rating for several reasons. One, there are so many beautiful animals here. They need homes. Please go there and look at them before you buy an animal. You may meet your next best friend there. Secondly, I've had an experience where the warden helped me pull a dog off of death row that was considered unadoptable and thanks to him the dog is safe and happy. I believe that the warden really does care for animals and is a good guy who has a very difficult job. I hope that one day all shelters will be no kill. To reach this goal, people must stop impulse buying animals and then dumping them off when they are not convienant to their lifestyle. A pet is a lifetime commitment not a stuffed animal to be tossed aside. The breeding must stop. Spay and neuter your pets. Remember that animals are not on this Earth to amuse us or serve us. They are sentient individuals with feelings and they deserve respect. Adopting an animal from this shelter can save their life and enrich your own. Pictures are of the dog we saved from there.

Went to the facility to drop off five helpless stray kittens. Met a friendly, one-year-old male terrier mix. Took him for a walk and we hung out for a few minutes off-leash. Before I knew it, I had put in an adoption application. Returned the next day (with family) to get him.

Had a fantastic experience here when adopting my new puppy. I had multiple phone calls leading up to meeting and adopting my dog, and they were so helpful and patient with all my questions. Their facility is very nice, and all of their staff truly care about their jobs and the animals. I'm so happy they were able to bring me and my new best friend together.

Love Dr Byrd! She is really good with our dogs. We love the new building. The exam rooms have large windows to see outside. Our dogs like to look out the windows. The large windows help make the rooms feel bigger and have a good effect on our dogs' anxiety.

The dog is a aggressive and we weren't told plus has food aggressive behaviors. I really think evaluating needs to be more effective. Am going to try to work with my new pet. But it is up in the air.

The people that work there are great. However, having said that, Randolph County should be ashamed! We need a bigger more modern NO KILL shelter.

My mother is going through some hard times and needed help. She lost everything her job her house, her pets even had to go. 2 dogs and 2 cats. Before i could help it was to late. She took them to the shelter and begged to please have all the animals adopted they all were up to date on shots and they were the sweetest cats you can ever imagine.The lady there specifically told her she promises that she will do her best to get them adopted. But when i call the next day to see if they were still around they had put both my cats to sleep. They didnt even try to get them adopted. I re adopted my dogs and got them out of there as fast as possible. I will never recommend the place to anybody.

My dogs ended up here recently. Staff was very friendly and understanding of the circumstances in which the event occurred, and was very accommodating in order to ensure that my babies got back to me safely.
