What a wonderful little shop! Has the best products , all high quality choices in organic feeds, scratch, grit, and oyster shell/grit mix at very reasonable prices. The young lady took my 50# bag out for me and was so helpful& friendly, answered all my questions. Lovely experience, lovely hidden little gem! Will definitely return regularly. Only thing is I wish they had one late evening a week or even once per month! (If they had, I would have made it there a couple months ago!)

Great place to swap or purchase chickens. Got 6 news hens that were all 5 months old. Great selection and all takes place in front of store where you can buy chicken food or anything else

I haven't gotten any chicks here so I can't attest to that, but this place is my #1 stop for feed, supplies and knowledge. They carry the best feed around and at comparable prices to the big chains less quality products! Staff are super friendly and answer any questions I might have. They also have the best price around for feed grass for my goats, and it's locally sourced to boot! Really can't say enough good things about urban chicken.

Awesome staff and knowledge. We really appreciate the help and would recommend this business 100%. We had a very unfortunate incident in our coop with a predator, and even though we were upset, the staff was very reassuring about our problem and showed that the really loved their chickens and was also very knowledgable. We will definitely be back if we have an issue. Thank you again to the gentlemen that recommended our current Delaware and Barred Plymouth Rock babies :-)

Love this place. Everyone there has been very friendly and helpful. It is mostly chicken and duck focused as the names indicates, although they do have supplies for a few other animals.A few reviewers have lamented that they've got "city prices," but hey y'all... it's in the city!With my small flock here in Raleigh there's certainly no advantage for me to driving 20 miles out of my way to save a couple bucks on a bag of feed or scratch every few weeks (and that's all it is, literally a couple bucks more ... for feed at least).

I can't say enough good things about this place! Nice thorough friendly people who have very good products. Grain is also used for many other things than feeding chickens, their millet and milo is very reasonably priced and very clean for mycology/ mushroom cultivation. My cordyceps love their millet and so do the wild birds lol all around awesome experience. The owner is very attentive and will rectify any issues within reason and as a small business owner seems to be very customer service oriented. Again, I can't say enough good things about this place! Read my other reviews and know that I don't rave about many places unless both their product and or service is exceptional! And both is exceptional here! Give them a try

Marshall was SUPER patient with us!!! We got an education...and honest answers on what's necessary and what's not!! Didn't try to have us buy things we didn't need,yet when we asked what he suggested, told us why..just bought 4 chicks and ordered two more...have a nice,friendly supplier for our new found hobby!

So far, we have purchased 3 birds from Urban Chicken (2 Jersey Giant pullets and 1 Easter Egger adult hen). We have also purchased two Cream Legbars from the Flock Swap.All the birds are thriving and have been great, non-aggressive additions to our flock. Great layers too.We cannot recommend Urban Chicken enough and we have even convinced our neighbor to purchase chicks here.

Very friendly and helpful. Adults and kids alike can enjoy this store. If the owners/workers can't get you excited about chickens then chickens are not for you.They have regular flock swaps (currently 3rd Saturday of the month) with vendors. They even have stuff for other pets

Very helpful staff and excellent selection of products. The staff have special ordered items on me on several occasions. I drive a long way to shop here for my animals. TOTALLY worth it! I always look forward to the trip - it's a fun place to visit. I've also purchased chicks here and they are some of my favorite layers - very healthy birds. Highly recommend this shop.

Was disappointed compared to rave reviews I saw beforehand. Overpriced and mostly conventional products. Nice to have a store like this in Raleigh, but should be more local feed stores that can fill this niche too. I encourage you to find a mom and pop feed store in a small town closer to home if possible.

Great local place for chicken supplies as a first time backyard chicken mom. I never knew this place existed until I was looking for more feed for my chicks. I'm so happy there's a local place as I would much rather shop small local businesses than big stores. I love the personal touch, recommendations from other with backyard chickens and really like that i can get that supporting a local business.

Great little store for Urbania! They have everything you need for raising chickens/ducks in the city, unfortunately, their supplies are at city prices. They aren't outrageous, though, and easy to get too. Plus, their staff is knowledgeable and very friendly...and their Flock Swaps are awesome events!

We purchased 4 chick from here-- years ago! 2 of them are still rocking and laying-- and the death of the other two were the fault of a dog. Highly recommend getting chicks from reputable dealers.

Great place for your backyard friends. We have used them for our chicken needs for a couple of years and they always seem to have new and interesting things. They are knowledgeable and have helped out with minor issues and suggestions with our chickens.

Great staff, good products, fair price and sooooo convenient! Open weekends as well. We think this is the best supplies company for small time chicken lovers and they are passionate about chickens. We got 8 chicks in the spring to add to our depleted ranks and raised all but two. All the chicks are from Urban Chiken (UC) - they had a great variety of healthy little bundles. So now our chickens are eating ticks, laying eggs and generally amusing us with their little personalities. They follow the dogs around and hid under the deck when they sense a threat. UC deserves 5 stars because they know their chickens and they care and it’s great to have them on your doorstep.

Great urban chicken store that stocks tons of local, organic feed for your flock. They have feeders, waterers and even exotic baby chicks, pullets and cockerels. They occasionally have flock swaps where you can trade your birds or buy others with affordable vaccinations. Great resource for the triangle!

I love the Urban Chicken! I don't know what I would do if they weren't here for all my peep needs. Organic feed, reasonably priced wild bird seed, and lots of supplies you can't readily find elsewhere. Love them!! ❤️

They sell sick chickens!!! Please do not go here!!! I bought 5 chicks two weeks ago and one died the next day, another the day after, then two days later another one passed, the fourth the same night, and just today my last chick died. She died in my arms after having what seemed like a seizure. It was fairly traumatizing. DO NOT GO HERE. THEIR CHICKENS ARE SICK.
