Really impressed by how clean all the fish tanks were. Not a single dead fish or a tank with algae. Kudos to the person that is really caring for these fish babies. He/she deserves a raise!

The store manager and cashier were very knowledgeable on leopard geckos.It is very friendly and has a great appetite.Would definitely recommend buying one from this location.

Note: this is a review of the Grooming Dept only.I just had the worst experience with the grooming manager at the Pleasant Valley location in Raleigh.I called to understand why I was not able to make an appointment online, and was told (and not nicely) that my dog is not welcome there. This was a shock to me, because when I picked up my dog (just two weeks ago) from his most recent grooming at that location, the groomer was very friendly and said that my dog was cooperative and well behaved.I was surprised that the person on the phone was the manager. She was extremely combative, and to say she was unprofessional is an understatement. She kept reading notes from his file, which were contradictory and confusing. When I asked for clarification-- this was all a surprise to me—she was very rude and ultimately hung up on me (“I’m not going to keep going back and forth with you”).I am a Vital Care Premier member, have used Repeat Delivery for my pets’ food for probably a decade now, and have been and otherwise loyal Petco customer. No more. I am looking for ways to extricate myself from Petco completely.

This is a nice store but the grooming team is the worst. It feels like they don’t want to work, they keep finding excuses to cancel appointments for the dogs every time we bring the dogs for service. One time they refused to do the grooming for our little one because she got they said she got some allergy, I took her to the vet and he could not find anything, then we call again to reschedule and same lady said they were not more appointments available but we went online and booked without problem, next day they cancelled because this lady did not show up for work. Our other dog got the grooming and they cut his facial hair so much that I had to take him to the vet because they made him bleed on both sizes of the face. Please don’t waste your time and money taking your dogs for grooming here, if you are going to give them a bath you can do it here at the self-service bath area, it’s nice and easier but take your babies to a professional groomer, don’t make them go through a rough experience here.

I went in the store looking for Goats milk for dogs which online said it was available and could be picked up in an hour. When my family and I got to the store we couldn’t find it so we asked the cashier up front. He was extremely nice .The manager was walking by and said what is it you’re looking for. I explained and he cut me off mid sentence saying don’t trust that. I said uh ok. He said in retail things are not right in inventory. I said I know I work retail . I said ok fine I’ll go check again. He then rolled his eyes and kept walking.After looking for a long time I finally found the tag where the item should be. It was not there. Which is completely fine and I understand inventory online is not always right . But as a manager you should not be talking to the customer like they are incompetent. You should be helping them even if you have other managerial things to do.I told the cashier as we were leaving that he was very helpful but his manager needs to learn how to talk to customers .This is completely unacceptable. I have worked years of retail and management as well. You NEVER cut off a customer or talk to them like they are stupid !

Allowed me to sign up and pay for a dog training class, and upon arriving the first day they weren't even holding the class, they just forgot to cancel sign ups. They refunded me, but nothing extra for the huge inconvenience. Switched to Petsmart for training and had an amazing experience. Would highly recommend the Petsmart in Brier Creek over this store.

Pretty terrible location. Always out of stock of the very basic supplies and food I need and the shelves are always a complete mess with new stock in the middle of the aisles instead of actually on the shelves. Would recommend going somewhere else.

I brought two dogs in for a bath and other special treatments. The staff was friendly and informative. They were sensitive to my dogs' sensitivities. The dogs came home happy and healthy!

I made a grooming appointment for my dog and the groomer refused to do it. He said he saw fleas and was unable to do it. I immediately took the dog to the vet for a flea bath, where the vet told me that she couldn’t find a single flea on my dog.The groomer, Alex, simply did not want to bathe the dog, so he made up a lie about fleas to cancel my appointment.Both the groomer and the manager were unhelpful, rude, and dismissive. I will not be returning and would not recommend that you get your dog groomed here.The Petco in Cary on crossroads was willing and happy to groom my dog after this location refused.

Excellent service! Staff is friendly and incredibly helpful! Excellent value!! A clean environment. Bella, my dog, enjoys the delectable goodies, especially the dog treat biscuits! All of the clothes are incredibly cute, and the cranberry relief healthy urinary tract pet snacks were extremely beneficial! Also, the Adams carpet powder was excellent! I strongly suggest this store to all pet owners and caregivers.

We signed our new shelter pup for training to try to figure out what he already knew, and what he needed to learn. Yaz was amazing from the very first session. Benny is a handful and she did everything she could to make sure he was learning. We had 12 weeks of classes, and we definitely learned a lot about Benny and ourselves in that time! While he didn’t get his good citizens certification, he did learn some tricks, a few manners, and we learned what games would tire him out the most. He’s a good dog, just doesn’t have many manners 😂 Thank you to Yaz for helping us learn how to train him going forward, and for giving us an hour out of our week where he was someone else’s handful! We love seeing the staff when we come in now and catching up with Yaz about his progress. Would definitely recommend training with Yaz!

Grooming staff obviously hate their job, rude customer service when asking for a simple nail trimming and cut my wife off mid sentence stating "...we are way too overbooked for that" then when leaving under their breath stating "we have 4 dogs back there" as if we can see that which we can't.Just move on to another job if it sucks that bad. No need to be a jerk about it. Have had similar issues here with appointments being cancelled with no call ahead as well.Just avoid the location.

Had a wonderful experience doing the dog training program with Yaz! My pup and I enjoyed coming to class each week, and Yaz was very helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. I would recommend Yaz's training classes at Petco!

We figured we'd check this place out to see if they carried Primal. They do not! Most of the dog food they carry is junk. We were able to find a few decent Acana dehydrated treats that don't have fillers in them and one bag of The Honest Kitchen beef only food. No staff was to be found to even ask if they carried what we were looking for.I went to use the restroom before we checked out and found that it was completely out of toilet paper and seat covers.We finally did find someone to check us out, but that experience was horrible. For some reason he put some other dog food on the counter next to him and then rang that up with my stuff, even though he asked me to put our stuff on the other side of his register. He proceeded to mumble questions at me that I asked him to repeat multiple times. Then when he went to hand me my receipt he proceeded to hand me the other dog food that I never gave him in the first place.So then he had to do a return and needed me to take my wallet out again so he could see my license, when I never even initiated that purchase in the first place.Overall, I left extremely annoyed and have no plans to visit a Petco store again. Great first impression guys!*I just got home and saw that the cashier refunded me a completely different (less) amount than what he charged me for originally. Which I had no way of knowing because he never gave me the original receipt until after he did the refund for the product he should've never rang up for me in the first place. I just called the store and was told that I would have to come back in to get the rest of my money back. I told them that I don't live anywhere near them and just happened to be in that area earlier today and would not be able to come back on. Nor should I have to waste my time and expensive gas to go back up there because of 2 mistakes on their end. I was then told that they can't do any sort of refunds over the phone so I have 30 days to go back to a Petco to get the rest of my money back. I am so livid right now that if there was ever a doubt about me even trying a Petco again, it has been completely quelled.

Their stock of grooming supplies was quit low, so selection was small. We found a couple of items we liked. We were not offered a bag when we checked out. Left the store just carrying our items. Cashier was nice enough.

I came to get fish they closed at 8AM I can e and asked a guy if I can get a fish rlq the doors weren't even locked and lights on 7:50 some people were just walking out and then I come and say excuse me can I get 1 fish and he literally says no and locks the door technically in my face.( Also probably never coming here to get fish food and decos here again a zero if I could )

We had used other self washing places but Petco’s was so cool! I love the walk up baths and all the high-tech extras. Our dogs were comfortable and relaxed. The guy from the grooming department was amazing and kept checking on us.

Only good thing about this store is that it’s closer than going to Brier Creek and it’s new. A little smaller, but there are more services. The whole store also smelled like cat litter and customer service wasn’t good.

Overall had a great experience with the vet. Watch out for hidden charges like poop inspection after a worm pill for your puppy. My fault I suppose for not asking.

During a recent visit following a long hiatus, I was relieved to find this store well-stocked with many products and choices--a real time-saver! Their grooming had been a disappointment, and the reason for my absence. Mgnt failed to honor a credit ID'd been given due to the groomer not knowing to leave the ears long on a Standard Poodle, and that it took about 3 years to grow back. Consequently, I won't be using them for grooming. I will shop there, though, as they're conveniently located and offer a decent product selection.

Waited 27 minutes for someone to come in and see my dog. That’s almost the entirety of the appointment. what’s the point of even setting an appointment. Overall, the services, when they finally came in were good.
