Such a gem in the sleepy town of Plymouth. We recently went there for the first time and the setting, staff and food were all terrific. I had a yummy pecan dessert before our lunch. We even had nice live music.I returned here recently and had another great meal with a group of friends. I definitely recommend giving them a try.

What a nice experience! I grew up in a small town and since I have moved away, I sometimes miss the small town charm and service that you get at businesses that are in those areas. This place helped me to feel that again! We met the owner and a pup named Abby, who were both very kind. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable and everything was clean. Our food came out quickly and I enjoyed the Gobbler (especially the thick slices of tomato). My husband had the Roast Beef which he also enjoyed. The owner went through a little bit of history about the building and the river itself (which you have a great view of from inside). Overall, a very nice place to enjoy instead of your typical fast food joints nearby.

Yes view in town and really good food as well. I got a Reuben and my friends got hotdogs all the way that they loved. You walked through a gift shop to get to the restaurant. They also have music at times in the evenings but I don’t know the details.

While traveling from Nags Head to Wilmington we got hungry and started looking for a place to grab lunch. We try our best to support local, small businesses, and see new places when possible. Sooooo glad we did. I'm giving them 5 stars. Not because it was a "5-star restaurant" but because it's the type of place I'd spend lots of time in if I lived there. And the people were as nice as I've ever met. I didn't know anything about Plymouth NC until today, and Riverview Cafe made me want to stay a lot longer. Oh and yeah, the food was very good!

Storm knocked out power, so no grilled sandwiches today. We were delighted to have baked goodies and iced coffee while enjoying the live music. Will return for lunch on our next trip to OBX!!Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free options available.

They have gluten free bread and a few gf desserts. My husband and I enjoyed what we go there. A bit expensive for the sandwich I thought. We didn't even get chips or a pickle or anything with it.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free.

Lou (the owner) is a great guy, super friendly and a gem to talk to. The cafe is very nicely renovated with beautiful views of the water. We ate breakfast at the cafe and it was delicious. The breakfast sandwiches and fruit parfait were wonderfully prepared!! Even though we are traveling from PA we will definitely be recommending this spot to fellow travelers and we will return for more food when passing through.

Unexpected find for travelers visiting from Hampton Roads. Gene on piano was awesome! Friendly staff, great mocha and food, and inviting atmosphere. Intentionally took photo with no people in it since I was going to post this.

The reuben sandwich and pasta salad were excellent! Live piano music added to the ambiance and scenic river view. Wonderful shop featuring local artisans as you enter from the street. A true hidden gem!

We stopped by for lunch on our long distance travel. I'm so very glad we did. This place is awesome. It's welcoming, very clean and relaxing. Riverview Cafe is located right on The Roanoke River with great calming views. We even had live music; awesome piano. The food was very fresh and good quality. The coffee was the best I've had in a very long time.......and it was served with real half and half. My visit actually got me curious about how great it might be to live in this tiny town of Plymouth. The crime rate is non-existent. Yep, I looked into it. The Riverview Cafe is pet friendly as well. I will definitely be back when in the area.

This place is an absolute gem. Perfect coffee and delicious food obviously prepared with care and quality ingredients. Dining area has a beautiful view overlooking the river. Sometimes you can catch live music there as well. Congenial owners and very reasonably priced antiques and local art treasures to shop are a bonus. We make it a point to come back at least a couple of times every year when we make the trip from GA to visit our family farm on the sound.

Great food and even better atmosphere. I had a grilled cheese and it was so gooey and delicious. There was also live piano music and a fabulous view. More so, it’s dog friendly which was great for us traveling with our dog.

We stopped for coffee and pastries (good) and were delighted to also find live music (very good) and a nice local gift shop in a building overlooking the river. Highly recommended if you're nearby!

Owners we wonderful!! My mother and I weren't sure when they closed and I had my 6 month old with us. They let us stay even after they closed so we could chat and relax after a long day of driving. The food was amazing and we will definitely be back to eat and to also check out the beautiful house items in the front store. Thank you for the kindness you showed. 😊

We stopped at this Cafe on our way to the airport from the outerbanks and I'm so glad we did. Their grilled cheeses were soooo good and their pastries were to die for. Perfectly baked to just the right amount of gooeyness. The staff was by far some of the friendliest people I've met. I wish I didn't live across the country from this place!

We stopped by Riverview Cafe on the way back from Nags Head. What a fabulous, quaint, homie cafe on the Roanoke River. Wonderful service, friendly locals, excellent coffee. I highly recommend you make the extra 3/4 mile trip off the highway. It will be with the extra 1-2 minutes.
