Amazing place in the heart of historic Pittsboro, NC. Immediately outside are a fantastic assortment of decorative yard art and novelties, mostly fashioned from metal. As you reach the wide and open front porch, there are varieties of different baskets, nick-knacks, and oddities, sure to fetch a smile. Once inside, the modest building seemingly expands into an endless stream of incredible rarities and well crafted textiles and crafts. Staying true to the name, there is a distinct and continuous French influence throughout; both continental and Sub-Saharan French Africa. One room is filled with cloth, patterns, and everything needed for quilting. Another room has incredible imported place mats and settings, while another has beautiful table clothes for every shape and style. See pictures below for more, though I scarcely covered half of what is available! Earrings and other exotic jewelry, childrens music, soaps and coin purses, carvings, stonework, more metal sculptures, and paintings to adorn any room.Though the last 2 years have been hard on in person shopping, I am delighted to report French Connections is doing well, and plans for growth are underway! What a wonderful independent boutique situated in the walkable Pittsboro shopping district. Looking forward to many returns!

You can easily spend the day in this store. Fabrics from France and everything from Africa. Gorgeous wood and metal tables and fabric, fabric, fabric! Great prices too.

Fabulously quaint shop! I felt like I was at an outdoor African Market except inside and only an hour away from my Greensboro, NC home. Found exactly what I was seeking. Some beautiful fabric commonly found in Senegal, West Africa. The prices are acceptable, especially when I factor in that I didn’t have to go through customs from an international trip or pay shipping & handling nor wait on a delivery. Win-win! 🙌🏾The owners and staff were super friendly and helpful. So many beautiful and interesting items.I’ll definitely return. 🙂🙏🏾🇸🇳

If you are looking for fabric this place has gorgeous prints. Not a lot of antiques. Mostly African art. We liked the metal sculptures in the yard. Family run business. All very friendly.

Fabulous fabrics and customer service. I live in NYC and looked everywhere for a small French print for my flower girl dresses. Wendy personally shopped her stock for me, texted me pictures, and helped me pick the perfect color and print. Love her African textiles too. This store has such a great variety and vibe. Hope to visit it one day!

Best little shop in town for fun and interesting art from Africa to local artists. Would be a good day to browse inside or out. Check out the hand carved items and textiles offered. Unusual offering and eclectic collections found here.

It was very eclectic. Definitely worth the stop. Beautiful handmade items. Most with an African Flair. Beautiful tapestry Linens and Art work. Yard ornaments handmade, Christmas, Halloween and other decorations. Fun place to stop.

Had passed many times with intentions of stopping. We finally did couple of weeks ago! Intended quick glacing around turned into >hr. Really friendly & helpful staff. Found some cool fabric for curtains and covering a couple of pieces. Unique things. No way to see everything in an hour so have to visit again.

My wife loves catching the sales in West African fabric here! You feel transported when you walk on the lot. I'm not the type to actually purchase the fantastical yard-art sculptures, but they do make you feel like you've traveled to another country. The proprietors are very friendly and make you feel welcome. This place is truly a treasure for Pittsboro.

Lots of gift ideas, from yard art to woven baskets, pictures, fabric and hand made items. You could easily spend an hour here and not even notice it. Lots to see for sure. Great little place in downtown Pittsboro.

Be sure and stop inside and look around. They have a wide variety of items and the largest material selection I've seen outside a big box store. The staff is also friendly.

The metal sculptures outside made me screech my car to a stop & had to buy at least one! There is mostly animals (including bug & dinosaur) but also flower & kinetic wind powered art. I bought a goat & those are hard to find in art form & at very reasonable price! The inside is a fabulous variety of French & African fabrics & African art. Completely unexpected gem in this quaint town. Worth the detour or special trip from Raleigh/Durham area.

We often pop into this store to look around. We have only made one purchase, an amazing handcrafted metal steers skull (made out of car parts), that hangs over our fireplace. The store is full equally unique pieces, I'm still annoyed with myself for not getting the pig shaped barbecue. The owners are lovely and helpful. So if you are in PBO stop by, you never know what you'll come away with.
