I didn’t wanna give this Food Lion no stars. been living in Pittsboro for 7 years and I noticed that the young men and women that work here are nice to all age groups. The older workers are only kind to older individuals that shop here. This food Lion’s customer service sucks, I only shop here because it’s closer to my home, but definitely bout to start taking that few minutes drive to shop somewhere else because customer service is everything.

The folks who work here are very polite and helpful, and that is why I frequent this store. Unfortunately however, when there’s a problem with the food, it’s impossible to get a hold of someone. For example, today I purchased five containers of fresh butterball ground turkey (not expired). After I got home and began cooking the ground turkey, I realized the meat was off and rotten (sadly, after I had stubbornly and foolishly contaminated several other ingredients). I tried to call the store to let Customer Service know; however, nobody answered the phone on any line in any department. This is unfortunate because somebody else could become seriously ill from consuming this meat. I also tried the 1-800 number on the receipt, but it was after hours so it was closed. Again- the people who work here are very decent. You should just be careful however with what you consume and follow your instincts about safety. I’m sorry to be a Karen about this but no one likes to come home with rotten meat, especially when food is so expensive.

I love love this new Food Lion.It is 100% better than the one in town and it's close and convenient to home. It is such a blessing not to have to drive out of the way for groceries.

The one woman supervisor with long hair and glasses is just plain rude. She had to go check to see if a tag was on something that YES wad there that's why was going to purchase the item. She for one took her sweet time, then came back up, no there is nothing back there. Well I didn't imagine it. So I'm sure she took the tag off and it was orobably old. When she could've just given it to me at that price and taken the tag down. You don't need to be rude. I just spent $100 plus dollars in your store. I'm sure the other reviews on here about managers and supervisors are about her too.

If there was a option for a lower star rating I would give it. Never come here. It's filled with lazy employees who need attitude adjustments. Management doesn't seem to care about the complaints you give. They just roll their eyes and walk away.

Had a bad experience with the manager of checkout very rude and publicly made fun of me . Couldn't believe I as a customer was treated that way . If you see a middle aged short blonde lady with a plastic ID around her neck avoid her . Other than her it's a great Food Lion clean neat with helpful people. I hope she doesn't take her bad day out on another customer she really hurt my feelings as a lifetime customer .

It's an okay grocery. You get the freshest items and variety for the lowest possible price. They're straight to the point and their customer service is okay. They have a wing bar and that's my most favourite part of this store.

Today shelves are bare in a lot of departments including produce. As always customer service is great and the store is clean! Still don't like how crowded you feel entering and exiting though.

There were no attendants at the checkout. We had never used the scan and go. When we asked about checking out, we were told there was no one to do it for us. We told the girl that we had no idea what to do.She did not want to help because she was having to watch everything. I do not understand how the only grocery store in Pittsboro does not have help for checkout. We were very frustrated. I guess this is what happens with no competition in town. I do not blame the worker, but I do feel management could do better even if it meant you had to work.

The Pittsboro Food Lion is clean, well run, well stocked, and has efficient lined. That's about all I can ask for in a local grocery store. I'm never unhappy when shopping here which I admit, is far too often.

I was trying to get butter near the deli when a deli employee named Richard, which I only know because a female coworker was yelling it as she told him to stop trying to look up my skirt. He would not stop dispite this coworker repeatedly telling him to look away. At one point she even had to yell at him to turn around because he refused to stop. He even doubled down saying that I wouldn’t notice because I would think he is just looking at the cheese in the deli fridge. Absolutely disgusting behavior.

Small town grocery stores are within a special class of their own. This Food Lion falls easily into what one expects such a store to be, at least on the surface. Seems it's been there on that spot since not long after Noah received the small branch from that exhausted bird. What sets it apart are the people who make the place run like a clock. Well stocked and friendly help but a question away, I've shopped there for more than thirty years. Sure, the meat selection could be better, the prices a tad lower but it fulfills the needs of the non-elites in a neighborly, friendly atmosphere.

Looked on the food lion app to confirm they were open until 4pm. Drove 20 minutes to get there and arrived at 340pm to find two employees guarding the door and not letting anyone in. They told us the employees needed to leave by 4pm so the manager stopped letting customers in. I asked if I could simply grab the vanilla ice cream I came for, to complete our Thanksgiving meal, and they refused to let us shop. Very disappointed. You should keep your doors open for customers until closing time and post can earlier closing time if you can't do that Can't wait for Lowes Foods to open nearby!

Nice sales associates..my ginger ale scanned 3 times instead of 2 & I didnt notice until I went to my car and looked at the receipt. The nice lady manager let me grab another 6 pack so Im happy because I didnt want to walk back to the car and grab my bags and debit card for a refund.

Food Lion always has great food products. Selection is extensive and pricing is reasonable.Visited recently 9/2020...noticed a stale musty odor in the entire store shopping area. Poor cleaning habits Made me sick. Changing my rating to 2 stars

Produce department exit was completely blocked by employees carts and boxes. I said “excuse me” numerous times. No one ever noticed. So I moved the carts myself to get around. Turn out, employees had headphones in their ears and were listening to music. I spent YEARS in the grocery business. Customer service is non existent now and days and it’s unacceptable.

The cashier's are terribly rude. Only redeemable aspect of the Pittsboro location are the people preparing Sushi. They're awesome! Better resolve your management issues before Lowes moves into town.

The remodel they did made the store cleaner but I think some of the items are in strange places in the store. I am sure I will get used to it. My only problem is that the last two times I have been in there the cashier was texting and trying to check me out at the same time. That is very annoying. I even had to ask the one young lady if she could wait until I was completely checked out. Apparently she didn't like that but I don't care. Do your job.

This is a very good grocery store with a wide range of options. The store has been updated twice in the last 15 years and features a walkthrough refrigerated fruit and veggies room/section, international sections and many gluten free options. The meat counter and deli are very good. This is a smaller town store with some bigger town options. The staff is very friendly.

A solid four stars! It is a Lowe's foods, so quality is not why you will be coming to this fine establishment. Cheap is why. It has a descent selection, and even has some local produce from time to time. Dispute the minimum wage, the workers are on the indifferent side of nice but never mean. I come here often for the bulk of my food items. As long as you're not here for a large selection of sea food, it should have you covered.

One grocery store in town...can you say MONOPOLY. Sad thing is it is too busy. Best thing to compare it to is....store at beach on move in day, stores before snow/ice or hurricanes. Inventory seems to be hit and miss. Majority of employees seem miserable and turnover appears to be constant.
