The Chatham PTA Thrift store has lots of clothes! The isle down the side of the building has glassware and household goods. The back has framed art and holiday items. Everything else is clothing. Things are a little disorganized but there is plenty of inventory.

An older white lady with short hair and southern accent who worked on 2/9/23 was loud and rude to customers. She yelled at a child for being in the toy area. Her demeanor wasn't pleasant and she seemed burned out. She'd benefit from training on customer service. The store itself was a little overpriced.

I have donated to this store many many times. Today I found a carry bag that I wanted. No special name brand. They wanted $35.00 for it. The prices are ridiculous and I will never donate there again!

Great finds, well organized and clean. I go here all the time and have found some amazing things. There's a boutique section of new or high end stuff for a good price. They have a plus sized ladies section as well which starts at a size 12. The clothes are sorted by color if you're looking for something specific. They have a large book section now that is most of the back of the store and I love that! I've also never found something that was beyond a quick repair at the most. I would complain that they're a little rude on the phone, but they stay busy and always pick up after the machine has because they have to run there to answer and I've had those days...so that's not a big deal. Overall, I think it's worth a visit!

Great place to shop for clothing and gift/household items. Prices are low except sometimes I think the "boutique" section is a little high. Always a good selection of bedspreads/blankets if you need inexpensive bedding for your dogs. I have found several "like new" items that I have given as gifts.

I bought one shirt for $2.00 and was paying with cash. I gave this lady $1.90 and then 10 pennies to make $2 and she told me to go find something other than pennies because she didn't want to be counting pennies all day......it was 10 pennies!!!! Haha 😂 Other than that the store itself was okay not horrible but not great either.

If you like paying estate sale prices for garage sale quality, this is the place for you.I have visited the store several times over the years, as it's just around the corner from my house. However, each time, I walk out disgusted and empty-handed, because the prices are just too dang high on everything I have an interest in (i.e. $50 for a pair of boots or $40 for a used shop vac.) Management - you're missing out on a lot of good business in a effort to wring every last dollar out of the free stuff left on your doorstep. Won't be returning here again anytime soon and would recommend that you skip this store if you're looking for bargains.

Fun place to shop. Love the seasonal displays at the back of the store; excellent merchandising throughout that makes it fun to visit.Good selection of curated books; duds are pulled regularly and books are well-sorted.Clothing sorted by color and size.

Yikes. Bring hand sanitizer.There was a moment in the store when I wondered if I smelled bad, and I felt embarrassed. Then, I realized it was the body odor festering in all the clothing around me. The store itself is well organized and bright, but nothing can take the place of clean merchandise. This place is gross.At a certain point, I had to call the treasure hunt quits for the sake of my churning tummy. You know how some spicy foods build to a burn or how hoppy beer gets more and more bitter with every sip? The odor in here is subtle, but with every person who enters the store and heats the room up one degree more, the smell swells and sits on top of you. I wouldn’t be surprised if I smelled like it now.I’m giving it 2 stars instead of one because their employees obviously work hard to keep it as nice and organized as it is. I mean this. It really it bright and well organized. It’s really up to donors to wash the merch bc they can’t do it all.

I do a lot of thrift shopping. And I have found that this thrift shop is by far the most overpriced thrift shop I have ever been to. I am blown away by some of the prices they think they can get for certain items. Sometimes the items cost more from the thrift shop then you can get them new for. I'm sure there are some good deals but I have never found them here.Update: I stopped in here recently this week, and found the prices to be slightly better than they had been in the past. Maybe they are taking notice of customer complaints.

I was having my car detailed down the street and walked to this store. Found some pictures for my dad. Asked the lady behind the counter if they could hold my stuff for a few minutes after I paid for it so I could get my car and drive back. The lady says, we can't, it's against our policy. I say - I can't carry this stuff down the street! She says - Well, that's just not my problem. Unbelievable that she couldn't keep my purchases that I paid for behind the counter for a few minutes. Ridiculous that she was actually that rude. My money is going elsewhere, sorry PTA.

I really do like the Chatham PTA thrift stores. I love to check out their books.However, some things could use some improvement to be great.I think their prices could be better. They price some of the nicer clothes or newer clothes as "boutique" and a higher price than the other stuff and honestly sometimes it is quite random. I have seen things in the boutique that have holes and stains. Seriously guys? And the prices are a bit unnecessary and often over valued when I can go to a discount store like ross and get that stuff on sale cheaper or clearance at target. Target brand clothes new shouldn't be priced in a thrift store for boutique prices. I saw a jacket the other day that was ripped down the side more than a few inches. It should be trashed honestly or free.But the things I do find I really have loved and appreciated. I have found some of my favorite name brand jeans for a few bucks. But you have to dig as they are just thrown in randomly not by size.They also do not have a restroom in either this or the siler city location and its frustrating taking my young kids who always end up needing to potty. Then I have to stop and drop my stuff, walk down to piggly wiggly which smells horrible to take them potty in the back of their store. And the SC as well you have to go to the stores next door. Why should we have to do that? Why is a restroom so hard to supply? And the SC dressing rooms smell often like pee. Yuck. They need to rip carpets out of those rooms and put in laminate or tile so it can be cleaned.Also they tend to overstuff the back section and it makes it hard to walk through. I love how clean the habitat homegoods store is and the pta could take a few tips from them.I'd give them a 3.5 as is if they would take heed to some of these issues they could be a 5star store like habitat restore who even has a restroom and is very clean and an open store.

Disgusting store. Very dirty. We were also kicked out of store for having our 3 and 2 year old toddlers with us. They even had masks on. What an idiotic policy where 8 and under cannot be in store. Do you want my money or not?

Very messy and unorganized today. I still enjoy this store I just wish it could be like it use to be. It is a thrift store, not a designer store on 5th Avenue. Some of their prices are simply ridiculous!!
