They helped miss Jazmin with her broken nail, with no appointment scheduled. We are very happy with the results. Great vet!

We recently moved to Pinnacle and we were nervous to begin our search for a new vet for our three babies. We took our youngest today for her last round of puppy shots. Pilot Mountain Animal Hospital went above and beyond our expectations. The doctor and his staff took time to educate us and everyone was more than happy to answer any questions we had. They even gave us a book documenting our puppy's first visit which included a picture from her visit today.

Just rescue a puppy, I called to ask to get a test for heart worms, because she already has all her shots, and I asked being referred by clients of mine,to start taking care of her, and after waiting over the phone she came back to me and told me the vet do not take new clients...

No matter what, I always know I can count on these guys to take care of our pets. They’re always so friendly and so helpful and I am so grateful to have such an amazing team so easily accessible so I can make sure our pets are taken care of. They always go above and beyond, and I know my dog is always well taken care of just because of how she acts around them. They take the time to explain everything in the best way that they can and if they don’t have the answers, they find out and work with you to get the best care for your pet.

Dr. Wilkins and staff are amazing! I feel that he guides you through treatment options and gives you the best advice for you and your fur babies! He doesn’t pressure you but will also guide you if needed when you aren’t sure what decision to make. Everyone is always helpful and takes the time during each appointment to answer all your questions.

My Tootsie was handled gently and lovingly by the Vet. He took his time examining my dog and explained our options and risks for treating her condition. Never has a vet given so much time to a furbaby patient of mine before. Very easy to talk to and all of my questions were answered.

Best Vets and techs we've ever had. They really care about your animals here and even remember everything you tell them about your pet about their personality, their habits, little quirks and they even remember all the funny stories you tell them about something your pet did...even from years ago. They're amazing caring people and do an excellent job with our pets.

My boyfriend went in today to take the family dog to the vet. The staff other than the veterinarian were great. We take our animals very seriously as if they were our own kids as I’d think most do. To have a positive attitude when you’re examining my pet is insanely important, and a rude, domineering tone the entire time is not comforting. We come there to seek help for our pets, I don’t appreciate the way my boyfriend was treated during the visit so maybe check your attitude when people come to you for your help. I think it’s your job to treat people and the animals with some form of care.

I have been going here for 10 years. Dr. Wilkins is fantastic, and there was another older doctor at some point who was also great. But recently I took my dog for a checkup and only a checkup. I don't know if the lines of communication were crossed but they ended up giving my 11-year-old dog a Parvo vaccine I did not ask for. Every time in the past I would be told by the doctor himself that he was about to administer vaccine. But this time some new female doctor I never saw before doesn't say a word, pulls out a needle and gives my dog a vaccine I did not ask for. Needless to say, I am not happy at all. My dog was very nervous, and I was trying to calm her and put her on the scale to be weighed. My dog does not respond to force, and I gently get her to go on every time. She didn't give me more than 3 seconds then grabs the leash and tries hoisting her up by her neck on the scale. I intervened and then lifted my dog on. My dog weighs 95 pounds, she cannot be lifted by her neck...This is a field where communication with the animal's owner is crucial and I usually get that every single time, but not this time.I have never had an issue with this practice before, but this last visit has left me very unsatisfied.

I can’t speak highly enough about this place and the staff. Our fur baby was only 2 years old when we found out that she had liver and kidney disease. Dr. Wilkins did so much research and reaching out to other colleagues in different areas to find the best solution for her care. He always answered our questions on the weekend via email even when during holidays. The whole staff loved our dog like she was their own and loved on her each time she was there to help keep her calm at every visit. My husband and I moved from the pilot mountain area and still continued to take her to Pilot Mountain even though they were over an hour away. Unfortunately her disease got the best of her and she passed away at only 4 years old. Thank you so much to the Pilot Mountain staff for helping us and giving our baby the best care and resources to keep her going and fighting as long as she did

We've been clients of Dr. Wilkins and his team since 2018. They are so much more professional and personable than any other animal clinic in the bigger surrounding cities. I highly trust them with my three "kids"!

I started carrying my pets here nearly 14 years ago upon a recommendation from my newly adopted boxer's breeder, and I've never been disappointed! (My boxer loved going here so much that he would jump in the truck whenever I told him we were visiting the vet!) They are great at managing appointments. The waiting room is never crowded, and they are very quick to get you and your pet back in to an examination room. On the rare occasions that I had to board my dogs there, I always found the kennels clean. Dr. Wilkins and his staff are so incredibly compassionate and caring! I always know that my pets are getting the best care, and he gives very sound advice. Sadly, we had to put our long time furry family member down this past week, and Dr. Wilkins was gracious enough to make a house call so we didn't have to bring her in. Two days later I received a sympathy card from the Pilot Mountain Animal Hospital staff in the mail. Surry County is fortunate to have such a great veterinarian in our community.

Recently I boarded my pets with my veterinarian at Pilot Mountain Animal hospital. 2 dogs, Hope and Paco, and 2 cats, Logan and Wanda. Wanda needed to be spayed while boarding. After my trip I went to pick up everyone other than Wanda up as she needed to stay an extra day after surgery. When I arrived, I was greeted with a bill of nearly $1,000 and I asked to have Logan come out first. The vet assistant brought me Wanda. I immediately questioned why she was coming home early and was told "this is Logan". I let them know that it was not Logan, this was Wanda. They did no label my fur babies and tried to spay Logan who they already spayed a year ago.How can you mix up pets???? They look nothing alike. Wanda was obviously the smaller cat and they already spayed Logan. I am at a loss.I worked in the veterinary field for nearly 20 years and this never happened in any hospital I ever worked at.I am warning anyone to be sure to label your pets prior to leaving them at any facility.Dr. Wilkins told me to not worry about the next time I came in, he would take care of it. I boarded the babies and when I picked them up there was a $600 bill. I will not be back.

Bailey's favorite friends when he feels badly. He loves on all his caregivers like they are family. Being an excellent judge of character, he always let's me know he trusts his medical friends. Dr. Cory and his staff are always helpful and their prices are very reasonable!

I took a stray puppy in a year ago and raised this puppy for a year and she became pregnant and had puppies 2 1/2 weeks ago and did great with her puppies and was a GREAT mother and very protective over her puppies, but 2 1/2 weeks after having them, she became very sick and thin and would not eat. Before this, she ate like a horse. I knew she was very sick and needed vet attention so I called the Pilot Mountain Animal Hospital and asked if they would see her but explained that I didn't have money to pay upfront but would make payments. I was told that they could not or would not see my dog without money upfront......I get paid in 2 weeks and could have made payments but that was not good enough for this place. I told them that my dog was really sick and would not eat but due to lack of money that this place required, I was not able to get the proper care for my sweet dog and today she passed away. I shed many tears for her today and I don't cry easily but today, i cried like a baby for my sweet dog. I feel like I let her down because I didn't have $50 for an office visit. I have no respect or admiration at all for a place that would let a loving and sweet animal, not to mention, a GREAT mother to her pups while she was able to be, die just for lack of the almighty dollar. If you have money readily available, this may be a great place but if you don't and are in need, I sincerely wish you the very best of luck because they were of absolutely no help to me and my late dog. Now I have 8 puppies that are 2 1/2 weeks that no longer have a mother and I promised her and myself that I will do my very best for them to help them make it and find them the best homes that I can. There will be a special place somewhere (and I think you know where I mean), for people like these that had rather let an animal suffer and die than treat them just because of money. Payments could have been made......

Moved hours away and still drive my four fur babies up. Would not trust anyone else with their care (unless he referred me out). Everyone on staff is amazing, not just the doctors. After 13 years of being Dr. Corey's client, I've never once been disappointed.

When we moved to Pilot, I put off changing vets because I was so happy with my vet. Finally, the long drive, nearly 30 minutes became too much and I realized it wasn't safe to be so far from vet care in case of an emergency. I have never regretted my decision, this vet is great. The whole place is clean and sparkling. The staff is friendly and the prices are very reasonable, which helps because owning animals is expensive and is not something to be taken on if you can not afford to care for them. But, it is also nice that this vet doesn't bully you into unnecessary treatments or care. My dogs used to be terrified of the vet, like children, no one likes shots. But they are happy to come here and are treated well by cheerful staff.

These folks are more than just our vet. These have become our friends! My parents brought their pets here when I was a child (I'm over 40 now!). This is not the most convenient vet for me but I actually go out of my way to take my animals to them because of how they, and we, are treated. I have tried other vets a couple of times over the years but I can't express how much I appreciate the compassion, honesty and fairness that we receive here. Wonderful doesn't even begin to describe the staff and services here!

Love, love, love Dr. Wilkins. He's not the rush in, rush out type. He'll listen and thoroughly answer questions and give real life examples. He also doesn't try to sell you treatments and unnecessary procedures. He's very up front in saying it would be beneficial or it would probably not make a significant difference or it could potentially be dangerous. He gives you all the info necessary to make an informed decision. He also remembers all your other pets, their medical issues as well things about yourself which says a lot.
