The ice cream here is sooooo good and the location is really convenient. Haven't even tried their slushies, which I'm sure are great as well. Enjoyed their coffee on another visit as well. All in all, it's definitely a great spot on the island!

Great ice cream. Excellent espressos. Pet friendly. And you can rent bikes. Love it here. Staff is super polite and attentive to your needs too. Did I mention the free WiFi?

We have visited Ocracoke many times. This place has always been our favorite. The ice cream is decently priced and delicious. You can not go to Ocracoke without stopping here.Kid-friendliness: Duh kids love ice cream

The Slushy Stand is one of the several great places to stop and pacify your sweet tooth. This establishment just so happens to have the most convenient location as well as offers a large bike rental selection. They do have great ice cream but much more than that. The menu can be a bit overwhelming when first looking at it inside. I would suggest they also post the menu outside so customers can be ready when they enter. I simply only wanted a float. I got a hand scooped vanilla ice cream Cheerwine float which hit the spot.

Had a great experience at The Slushy Stand this afternoon! Got a strawberry slush and the rainbow burst slush - great way to cool down on a hot day! All of the staff working were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely go back again!

The ice cream was very good and the service quick. My milkshake was a bit runny and not terribly thick, but the hotter temperatures weren't helping with that either. Overall, a nice store with good ice cream, bike rentals, and a quanit porch sitting area.

Ice cream is delicious but the customer service isn’t great at all. Been coming here for 20+ years every summer and the last few years it’s gone down hill. They close whenever they want to and the hours stated are not the accurate hours. It says they’re open til 8pm but at least 3-4 nights out of 7, that we’re here we’ll all try to get ice cream after dinner and they’re closed and it’s not even close to 8pm. So much potential for this place and it has been awesome a few years ago but lately it just hasn’t been the same.

One of the few coffee places open on Ocracoke during the winter season. Service was pretty quick and decently friendly. No cold brew available but I understand due to being the off season. My hot mocha was tasty and I also had an everything bagel with cream cheese. I'd stop here again.

Fantastic sweet treat and I love how they keep the pushy tourists at bay, enforcing masks and limit the number of people inside to four at a time!

The Slushy Stand is an absolute must visit for anyone visiting Ocracoke Island on vacation. Their selection of ice cream is large and diverse. The ice cream quality is very good and extremely rich in flavor. The milkshakes are a bit expensive ($8) but are worth it in every way. Death by chocolate (with nuts) is my favorite flavor. You can also rent bikes here. I rented an adult bike for one week and it cost $44. The bikes ride well even over tough terrain (which there is a lot of on the island). If you are here on vacation, and are able to have dairy, you absolutely need to come here to at least get a scoop of ice cream. It is extremely worth!PS: make sure you arrive before closing time (which is 10 pm as of writing this) as the employees are very strict about not letting anyone join the line for ice past closing time.

First time visiting here on Ocracoke Island. A few of the other ice cream shops were closed at the time that we visited, and this was evident by the long line up outside of the store. The staff were friendly and patient. They had an excellent selection of ice cream, milkshakes and slushies. The portion sizes were more than generous. I tried the salted caramel and blueberry cream pie flavors and they were both delicious. Try them out if you are ever in the area.

The ice cream/soft serve was good but the customer experience was the exact opposite. This company seems more worried about themselves than customer service. My wife and I got two cones and the experience felt rushed. One of the employees had an issue with my wife simply taking a lick of her ice cream because it was dripping while in the store. The explanation we received was "we will get fined". So we allowed the ice cream to melt and drip until we could pay and promptly leave. The ice cream was good but I feel they forgot Covid precautions aren't just company focused and not getting fines. But rather about employee safety while ensuring customer service.

What an awesome little place in a great location on the island. A very friendly staff and a great selection of treats. Super fast service even though it seemed packed due to its small footprint. Loved the strawberry slushy with real pieces of strawberry. Awesome combo. Would definetly come here again.

We visit the slushy stand almost nightly when we vacation here. Ice cream is great....service is absolutely horrible. The attitude that is shown to their paying customers is awful. I was planning on placing an order for 5, ended up 3 and honestly almost told them to keep it!Rudely told my child could not come in without a mask and that I had to stand outside to read the flavors to her. I don't have a problem with that but I don't need attitude. Then the lady that took our order seemed to have an attitude as well. I almost canceled the order, but didn't.From now on we will be getting our ice cream from the Ocracoke Fudge and Ice Cream Shop! I will not spend another dime at the slushy stand!!

The manager or owner is not nice to customers or staff. I don’t know if he’s burnt out or suffered a recent loss, but he’s not happy. He was nasty to the two girls who were working there. Note to them. Get out of there. Also, I can’t imagine an owner would literally put up the closed sign at 8:40pm and turn people away because they show up before 9pm.The ice cream was fine but given how he treated his employees, I would suggest going elsewhere.

It's good but extremely overpriced. They tried to charge $2.14 for a squirt of whipped cream and a cherry. ???--------------------------In response to the owner's response. I flatly reject the assertion that this is industry standard pricing for whipped cream and cherry. This was on top of an already expensive hot fudge sundae - not by itself. If I go to chick fil a for instance and get a milkshake, the whipped cream and cherry are absolutely free whether you want it or not. If you're talking about topping as in a scoop of wet walnuts or brownie, I would agree. But a squirt of whipped cream is not the same thing.I have updated the review to 1-star in response to the sheer audacity of defending this pricing, & the fact the hot fudge was not as good as years past.

Rude overpriced place to get coffee. Maybe the afternoon and night shift if nicer, but zero happy faces and incredibly ungrateful for the business in the morning. Coffee is fine, but basic and overpriced. (more expensive than the actual nice coffee shops on the island).

Don't waste your time or money! The man behind the stand yelled at my daughter to get the stroller with my 9 month old granddaughter out of the store. She responded that she would give her 2 sons cash and wait outside. She was attempting to exit when he yelled at her again there was no room for strollers even though there were only 2 other customers getting their ice cream and leaving the store. We decided there was no room for our money either so we went to Ocracoke Fudge and Ice Cream Store and it was excellent and more choices!

A nice trip to Ocracoke. Great ice cream. Got a chocolate peanut butter fudge milkshake. They didn't skimp on the ice cream. Perfectly whipped and reminded me of the Reese milkshakes you can get at Chocolate World at Hershey Park. Reasonable priced considering it's a tourist trap you can only reach by ferry.

Had a cappuccino and mint ice cream here, both served up excellently. The ice cream did NOT taste old and the cappuccino was made quickly and efficiently. They even told us they could make any coffee drink iced or blended! Overall very good existence here

Our family and friends love Ocracoke, been getting ice cream here for 10+ summers... always hopeful the grumpy old man behind the counter would be better. Not sure that we have ever met a more rude person working in the restaurant/service industry. This guy is visibly bothered by customers. Go to one of the other ice cream shops on the island.

Quick service, lots of variety and options, and a great big covered porch with rocking chairs to sit and eat my ice cream. No shortage of napkins.(Keep in mind this is primarily a cash business, with all taxes etc. included in the prices so as to make nice round numbers when making change. If paying with a card, a small additional fee will be added to cover the CC transaction fees.)

Amazingly nice, very good desserts, only wish they didn't make me feel like I didn't know what I was doing
