This was the only restaurant which we visited for lunch and returned back for a repeat the next day. Lot of options, friendly staff, tasty meals. You order food and then can sit outside and eat. Thai Moon and Moonrakers tea share the same.outside seating area..in case you want to enjoy a cup of tea with your meal. We heard their breakfast is also very very recommended but did not get. A chance to eat breakfast. The lamb meatballs, gyro sandwiches and falafel.sandwiches we're all to die for and have to mention the side of hummus...the best ever.

Breakfast and Lunch.Breakfast was simply excellent! Tasty Southern style Grits n Eggs, toast n biscuits, meat and not.....Lunch featured more of the Mediterranean style and we enjoyed Greek pizza and a meaty Minotaur. Daily special kabobs were super!"Don't forget the Baklava!" Simple (not too sweet!) and very tasty.Nice selection of beverages and very friendly service; a real jewel on Ocracoke Island!Several other nice shops in same location .

So delicious! I had the Crete pita with falafel and a side of lemon/basil couscous, and it was so good! The owner is so nice, and the little shopping center is like a community. You can get some exotic flavored tea next door and have your food and drinks on the patio. We will definitely go again next time we visit Ocracoke!

Of all the places that we ate at on the island, Helios was my favorite. The prices are great, the staff is extremely friendly, and the food is insanely good. We went twice and while I usually like to change it up, I had to get the falafel twice because it was so good. Definitely check them out!

WOW. i have nothing but praise for helios hideaway. the owner was so friendly and accommodating, and her menu was clearly labeled with vegan options (which i lovvvveeed). the pita is literally the best we have ever had, so much so that we got three to take home. i will dream of it’s pillowy goodness. my mom, who is not the biggest Mediterranean fan, loved their personal pizzas, saying it was the best pizza she had ever had. my dad also raved about the chicken salad. my mom also really enjoyed the breakfast sandwich she had. GO HERE!!

Best customer service I got anywhere we went in Ocracoke! Very friendly helpful staff and the food was delicious and healthy with generous portions. It's nice to get away from the fried food everywhere else. The outdoor seating was pretty. The only downsides is that like many other places in Ocracoke in summer, there are salt marsh mosquitoes around the outside of the building if you decide to eat there, so wear repellant, and the prices of the food are high, just like all the other island restaurants.

We made it to Helios’ Hideaway 30 minutes before they closed, but our party of five was met with warmth and we didn’t feel rushed at all. I had high expectations based on the reviews, yet the food still surpassed those. The pita was chewy and fresh (wish we’d gotten more!), the chicken in our pitas was flavorful, the lettuce and other produce crisp and fresh, and the bite I had of my daughter’s Icarus salad with fig vinaigrette was shockingly good. Great hummus and baba ganoush, too. Husband and daughter loved the couscous with lemon and basil. The flavors of everything really stayed with me for the rest of the day. Service was among the best I’ve had anywhere. The location, tucked away in a charming little shopping center (for lack of a better word), was wonderful - we loved the outdoor seating by the live oak. So grateful they stay open in the off season so we could enjoy it. It’s a gem in an already magical place, and we’re eager to return!

We stopped for lunch between ferry rides from Cedar Island and on the way to Hatteras and then Virginia. WOW. Everything sounded so good that we ordered twice as much food as we needed and ate it all day long during the long trip. We ordered a pizza made with local figs, a wrap that included beef shwarma, lemon thyme Greek potatoes, red pepper hummus and pita, and the Helios salad. The best hummus and pita I've ever had. We dipped the roasted potatoes in the lemon tahini dressing from the delicious feta-walnut-grape-apricot and greens salad, and omg that pizza. I was in Ocracoke for 3 short hours but I will remember the fantastic cooking from Helios Hideaway for years to come.

Biscuits and Gravy! I dreamt gravy. Helio's Hideaway delivered. They griddled split biscuits and did not skimp on the sausage in the gravy. Crispy biscuit edges, bites of sausage and some magical gravy seasoning =5/5 recommend! My requested over-hard egg did not drip, it was perfect! We'll be back to try the Greek menu for lunch, it looks fantastic. Apologies for the half eaten plate photo but I couldn't stop eating the gravy!!!

this place is a great option for off-season visitors to the island. we went for breakfast a couple days ago and it was really great. we both ate a decent meal for roughly $14 in total. the lady at the counter was extremely bubbly and friendly as well. overall just a great experience!

By far the best breakfast on the island. But lunch is where the magic happens. If you can get a figgy pie (seasonal), get it. Otherwise all the food is great. Homemade hummus and pita! Be patient, the dynamic duo make everything to order. It is worth the wait or call ahead.
