If you’re looking for a “nice dinner” in Ocracoke, this place is it. Such a gem! Flawless service and incredible food that made me feel giddy inside because it was so delicious. I got the Dajio Mac & Cheese with blackened tuna on top that was seasoned extremely well and highly flavorful. Whatever you do, you must try their Fried Banana Bread. It’s literally one of the best desserts I’ve ever had. Ever.

We got takeout at Dajio for dinner. My Shrimp Po-Boy was delicious! My husband ordered a NY strip with green beans & mashed potatoes. What he got was more like a flank steak. It was tough so he was not too happy with his food. They forgot the potatoes so we had to go back & get those. Can’t comment on the atmosphere or service since we did not dine in

Great food & great service! The crab mac & cheese was amazing! The shrimp tacos were very good, as well. While we were waiting for a table inside, we had a few drinks at the bar. The bartender assured us we could take our drinks inside. When we sat down, the server immediately took the beer bottle, stating, "No outside drinks. Sorry!" Once we pointed out that it came from the bar outside, he apologized & returned it. To avoid this, I'd suggest finishing the beer or asking for a draft instead.Parking: We walked to the restaurant, but for those driving, the parking lot is small.

We had a great experience at the bar with Brian. At first we were seated at a table for our waitress Megan but saw a better opportunity at the bar. We got the baked oyster appetizer, crab Mac, and low country purloo.Baked Oyster appetizer & No More Pain cocktail - absolutely delicious.Crab Mac - tasty & cheesy. However, I typically don’t like “elbows” pasta at restaurants (seems cheap for a classy dish filled with crab). It’s Just a personal preference for shells or cavatappi over elbows.Purloo - just like a jambalaya. Flavors were all there but the rice was a little under cooked.Overall we had a great time at the bar, chatting with locals and other tourists.

Dajio is our favorite restaurant on Ocracoke! They have high-quality food at a reasonable price. Their menu is very interesting and their specials are always absolutely delicious. We love going for "Shrimp Hour" between 3-5. Their cocktails (especially the No More Pain) are just awesome. We love that half the restaurant has a casual porch feel, and the other half is more "formal" inside, but no need to dress fancy here! The staff is always cheery and helpful. Really, just 5 stars all around!Parking: It's best if you can take a golf cart or ride bikes during busy days/hrs due to limited parking.

The food was excellent. I especially enjoyed the scallops I had as an appetizer. Their drinks were not very strong for an alcoholic beverage. It tasted more like a virgin drink than an alcoholic one. The wait staff was attentive and well engaged.Parking: The parking lot for the location is extremely small. Not sure if it is because in that area most use golf carts to get around, but there is only enough parking for like 6 cars. The establishments nearby and across the street all have signs stating private parking for patrons of those places only, so park there at your own risk.

A truly wonderful experience. The atmosphere on the deck was perfect on a gorgeous late summer evening. The Maple Glazed Scallops were incredible, tasted like they came straight from the water with a delicious maple bacon relish on top. The No More Pain is a must-have cocktail, really creative; the combo of pineapple and coconut topped with nutmeg makes it taste like "Beach Christmas" in the best possible way.I got the Shrimp Po Boy which was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and the seasoning/sauces were great. My wife got the crab cake sandwich which was fine, but she was quite jealous of my Po Boy, which was next level. To top it off, the fries were top notch, crispy exterior, pillowy interior.

This location holds a special place in my heart whenever I venture to Ocracoke. The quality of the shrimp never fails to impress, and the margaritas are a delightful indulgence. The entire staff exudes friendliness and ensures top-notch service. While it's true that island visits can be costly, it's a reasonable expectation at many local establishments. Should you find yourself in the vicinity, I highly recommend making this a priority destination.Parking: There is parking for cars and golf carts. If you are staying on the island you could also walk since it’s close to most hotels.Kid-friendliness: The staff was very friendly to our daughter!

Good experience, close was listed at 9 and we showed up at 8 but it definitely felt like we were showing up too late for dinner. The bar area was nice and the music was spot on for location but keep in mind if you are seated outside there appears to be a single bathroom. I imagine when the outside is crowded from the bar there would be competition between a dinner crowd and a bar crowd for the single stall. We are here off season so it wasn't bad.The menu is good for the island, don't be fooled the crab Mac and cheese was far better than the photos give credit, the oysters were very enjoyable. Pricing is what you should expect for a vacation spot, market price would equate to a $30 minimum and you should expect that, drinks are priced for vacation as well.Overall a good spot from the places we tried, would recommend for early dinner or later evening entertainment and food.

Best “nice” restaurant on ocracoke. Great service, atmosphere, and consistently good food. Also very fairly priced; it’s a little expensive but you get big portions so it’s more than fair for the money. Unlike other places on the island where the portions are ridiculously tiny, more expensive and not as good!! I go here multiple times every time I visit

What a great place this is. Wife enjoyed her fish tacos immensely and I have to say the burger I had was incredibly fresh and tasteful. Do not know how they prepare their meat, but this was the best burger I have had in years, and I have eaten quite a few during that time. Right of the main road near the ferry. Service wS very friendly. If in the area, consider giving this place a shot at pleasing your palate.Parking: Limited number of spots in front of the restaurant.

Went to Dajios last night for the first time since their new ownership. Food was outstanding! Calamari, steak, blackened, fish, and french fries were all delicious. Our server, Cole, gave us exceptional service. And, of course, we love the music by Brooke and Nick!

Had a good time here while visiting Ocracoke. Some good specials to try, I had a lobster and cornbread stuffed flounder which I would've done seconds on. Good selection of drinks. Nice outdoor seating. It's a nice restaurant once you get in the door. Looks like a cottage as you drive by. Just down the street from the harbor.

Went one evening off season for dinner. Had the crab dip for an appetizerwhich I though was good. Although did have to pick out a few pieces of shell. For my meal I had the blackened Redfish. I thought it was absolutely amazing, but then again I love drum. The place itself is very nice and the outdoor area with bar is pretty cool.Only drawback was it was a little buggy. I know it is an island and there are marshes all around, but there can be an inconspicuous bug light put up somewhere to draw away from the outside area.

What a fabulous place to have dinner. My extended family from North Carolina and Ohio visited Ocracoke from our beach rental in Avon. We were "hangry" from a long wait and ferry ride. Our waitress and restaurant owner immediately accommodated our huge party of 14 as they opened at 3pm. Our waitress was so thoughtful, funny and pleasant during our dinner. She handled all of our needs from ages 4 to 80 including 2 special needs children. The food was delicious and locally sourced. The wings appetizer was just huge and the other entrees and soup were delightful. I will definitely return to this great establishment if I find myself back in Ocracoke.

LarderRoom...Dajio Restaurant! Enjoyed the amazing Crab Cake Sandwich and the special full market value, NY strip smothered with fresh lump crab meat bernaise, asparagus & some amazing garlic mashed potatoes. Definitely the way to do it right in Ocracoke, NC.7/2023 LarderRoom...Can't leave Ocracoke without dinner from Dajio! MKT pan seared Red Drum topped w/sautéed shrimp & pineapple sauce (I think Ingot that right), with sides of fresh greenbeans & rice pilaf! TO DIE FOR! Also, the crabcake sammy. And for apps ordered the hand made chips & queso! BANGING!Kid-friendliness: They have a great kids menu!

Just off the Cedar Island to Ocracoke Ferry, Dajio is in a class by itself. Relaxed, comfy and inviting environment with solid recipes and OUTSTANDING service - thanks Daniela! We tried several places during our stay and we voted it Best Restaurant on Ocracoke! Will definitely be back!

Poor; I ordered the fish special, which was supposedly grilled Drum with shrimp. Warning flags went up when the main course arrived before we’d finished the starter (something I hate). The fish was certainly fresh, but soggy and overcooked and buried in a gloopy sauce. The shrimps were actually frozen king prawns. All served with a vast pile of rice and no other vegetable. What annoyed me most was that they’d obviously gone to some effort to source fresh fish, but then spoiled it with careless cooking.

Thinking about it makes my mouth water. We stopped for brunch during an anniversary trip to Ocracoke. We discovered a beautiful place to eat. The food was delicious, the staff very friendly. We will have the wood fired pizza next visit.

The place was such elegent and the staff were super helpful and friendly. The meal portions were big and the pricing was very reasonable. They had two seating options an indoor and outdoor so that you can enjoy the wonderful fall breeze or the comfort of the aircondion or the fireplace during summer or winter. Thumb up for this yummy seafood place.

Delicious food and vegetarian options. I had the cauliflower steak, and they made the fried green tomatoes for us without bacon. There is a beautiful patio to sit on. It has a little less breeze than restaurants on the water, but it is a romantic atmosphere outside.
