Jeanie at the Anchorage is so friendly and accommodating. We had to change our arrival date due to a friend's funeral. No problem. Then we got stuck here for 3 additional days for storm/wind. Stopped in and Jeanie was able to keep us in the suite. Room is massive, clean and nicely furnished. Everything we needed for a week or more. We had beautiful sunsets from our balcony.Rooms: The top floor suites are the best kept secret. Oops, shouldn't have told you. Size of a large apartment.Nearby activities: Beautiful beaches, loaded with shells a couple hours after high tide. Get a permit to drive your 4 wheel drive vehicle on the beach. Worth itWalkability: Everything you want is walkable in the Village. Shops, Restaurants, Beaches.Food & drinks: Lots of restaurant choices in walking distance of Inn right in Village. There is golf cart rental, but we didn't even need that.

My wife and I stayed here for a little long weekend getaway in the offseason. We arrived before our check-in, but the staff were happy to check us in early and even bumped us up to a nicer room with no additional charge! The room was clean and comfortable. The only issue we encountered was with the network - staff warned us that they were in the process of upgrading their WiFi and that connection was spotty. All in all, a great place to stay!

This was our second visit to the Anchorage Inn & Marina. We used it as our base of operations for 4 days of shelling. The rooms are clean and functional—not fancy— but the view can't be beat and the sunsets are gorgeous. It's pet friendly and when the weather is a bit warmer, we love the pool on the dock. Having a dockside snack bar and restaurant right across the street is also a plus (SmacNallys), and good coffee is only a short walk away at the DejaBrew Coffee Shack. The staff is always helpful and we will be back.

This local Inn was really great. The nicest room we'd had in several days after several "chain stays". Although the property is not fancy, the room was spotless and comfortable and the balcony view was great. Loved being able to watch the "goings on" in the harbor. Personnel were friendly and accommodating. The check in process was painless and check out the same. This was our first stay on Ocracoke and we'll definitely be back and will stay at Anchorage again.

One of the cheapest places to stay and you get what you pay for. No parking due to restaurant, marina & golf chart rental customers parking at hotel or using a space for their car and cart rental. Staff provided no assistance on this issue. Rooms out of date and damp. Pillows were terrible! TV in our room did not work. Internet has almost unusable and a pain in the neck to use. No staff on site in the evening. Silver Lake location not worth it.

I personally loved staying here while my wife was attending a seminar at NCCAT. The setting was quiet and beautiful and the manager was helpful and knowledgeable about the area.Rooms: Nice clean rooms even though not fancy. No problems with anything there.

We missed the last ferry to the mainland and we were traveling with our two small dogs and it was after hours. These guys were amazing! After searching all over the island everything was either closed or didn’t accept pets. We called the anchorage and they had a room for us. It’s the perfect location too. We were right by the ferry for the next morning (go online and get a reservation for the ferry btw) we were in walking distance of restaurants and it is the perfect place for a one night stay over or even an extended stay if you are planning on staying multiple days. The staff was all very nice and helpful. Unfortunately, in the morning during our hustle to get the ferry we forgot to load our suitcase. They were so helpful with that getting it shipped back home to us and they have made a customer of us for life. When we go back we will definitely be extending our stay with them.

Rooms are pretty basic and that is fine but the air conditioner wouldn't keep up and room was crazy humid and smelled very musty. Location is great.Walkability: Close to many restaurants and shops.Food & drinks: Smacnalley's resturant is right across the street! Great food.

Decent place. Nothing fancy. It does have an elevator with a view, which is nice. Excellent home base for exploring the island. Plenty of convenient electrical and USB-A outlets.Nearby activities: Smacnally's is right across the street --' very popular and good food.

It's a very convenient location, right across from silver lake, in the heart of town. It's so fun to watch the boats come in and be by the water and to walk across the street to Smacnallys for a fresh fish sandwich on the water. You get use of the pool also, and there are boat slips across the street available to rent. Best of all, it's pet friendly. Very friendly staff and clean rooms. We've stayed there many times and will continue to visit.

I love this place. The island is adorable, the staff is so friendly and the location of the hotel is wonderful. We go back every year and plan to in the future. My only complaint is the parking. It's ridiculous. They need some kind of designated parking for hotel guests as its already pretty limited. It's unreasonable not be able to find a parking space to pack and unpack in front of the hotel you're paying to stay at while people who aren't even staying there and just park to walk the island, or visit the bar or marina across the street, are taking up all of the parking.

Don't intend to stay here again! Last year bottom level room had Roaches, leaking ac, dirty carpet, indentations in bathroom wall! Decided to try again this year and 3rd floor room did have laminate flooring but also had indentations in bathroom wall, peeling toilet seat 🚽 Don't know what seat was made of!!! Unidentified bugs in bathroom! Lumpy mattress! Elevator still showed water damage! The only thing this place has to offer is great view from upper levels! How in the world do they think they will sell for the millions they are asking!

The room was clean, and partially updated. The was staff friendly and helpful. Perfect location for everything on the Island. Nice pool, right on Silver Lake. Great view from the balcony.Nearby activities: Pool, boat tours, dining, lighthouse & local shops.Walkability: Easy to walk to most everything + the free tram stops right outside for a trip to Howard's Pub.

Very nice staff. Perfect location. The pool is beautiful. Loved how they were dog friendly. We ran into a snag when our boat hit some bad weather - delaying us by a day. The manager offered to move back our reservation by a day to accommodate us. We were overwhelmed by their southern generosity and understanding. We will be coming back for sure!

Dale (the front desk worker ) was very nice. We stayed in the top suite. The room was huge and very clean. View was amazing . The only complaints were the bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. The mattress was hard and the pillows were not comfortable at all which made 2 nights of sleep very difficult. The other issue was Right below us on a Sunday there were workers tearing out carpet and putting flooring in. Banging all day long with hammers and noise on a rainy afternoon. We Could not even take a nap. Then someone was smoking below us and the smoke smell was coming into our room. This was extremely annoying especially when you’re paying a lot of money for your room. Not sure why they could not forgo doing construction work on a Sunday. Very disappointing. The Inn needs updating for sure but not on a Sunday .Rooms: All is stated in my comments

My daughter and I and our two dogs reserved a room for two weeknights (no availability for weekend)and didn’t want to leave! I let mgmt know and when a cancellation came up we were able to stay an extra night. Had a great time. Stayed on ground floor which was perfect for dogs. Room was super clean and we had everything we needed. King bed was comfortable and all the linens were super fresh. When we arrived the air was set on 67 and we later learned that condensation occurs if the room is kept much warmer than that. Not a problem as the cool room made for good sleep. Our door was a little tricky to unlock (salt air I suspect) but we got the hang of it. Also - and this is a biggie - we felt very safe here. There was a good amount of traffic since we were on the first floor but really, just folks and their families making their way in and out of their spaces and everyone seemed to be in a good mood. The location is great and easily walkable to any spot in the village. Never cared much for pools when I’m at the beach but we enjoyed this one very much, a great way to cool off while watching activity in the harbor. We very much look forward to returning next year!

Sorry the Office is CLOSEDI stayed for 3 days in this dilapidated heap of outdated entertainment systems, uncomfortable beds, and terrible views. There was a lot that went wrong on my trip to this accursed Island, but this glorified Motel was the worst of it!DO NOT stay here if you FEAR bedbugs, paper thin walls, pay-per hour neighbors, mysterious smells of chemicals, urine soaked appliances, or a lack of privacy.If you enjoy old TV's with bad reception, no communication with office staff, or old people making love hedonistically then maybe this is the place for you.If you have gotten this far in the review, I would also add that the ENTIRE ISLAND of Ocracoke is a terrible place not worth a visit. You have been warned!
